@@soup31314 there that’s the answer I was looking for. That makes sense. I don’t know the exact year but somewhere in the 40’s or so it had to be serialized and registered. There are plenty of old 22’s without serials floating around though. I suppose they are grandfathered in.

Nah. Those ages are determined by states. However the DOT gives states money for roads if they have the age of alcohol at 21. Unfortunately nothing to do with ATF or federal law.

Where did you hear that information ? The only switches that should legally be allowed to be registered, are for SOT manufacturers as post dealer samples. Otherwise it will set a precedent and we all can have them !

Definitely not all of the British lend lease Thompsons, there was a company selling kits at shows about ten years ago that were all stripped off of British guns. The receivers weren't cut either because they didn't import the guns before turning them into kits, there's just a pile of Thompson receivers sitting somewhere in the UK minus all the shooty bits.

Tommy gun parts kits are back on the menu boys! Probably for somewhere in the ballpark of $1-2k+ a kit given current market values and the fact that in the gun industry does not understand the laws of supply and demand. These kits will probably be avalible for the next few decades at that price.
The bolts, blish lock, and lower are big$ items. Semi guys love to swap a semi Lower for a FA cut for detachable stock and very few other mods need done. I hope a bunch are sold intact to dealers as post samples and if the NFA cracks or has amnesty we can get 100's on books
I've been unsubsricribed several times and my feed changed to "personalized" i.e. 1 out of 20 numerous times on this and other channels. Not just firearms, Max Miller on tasting History and Townsends have also be victims of tube of U cancelation or "personalization" equivalent.

I was stationed at NCBC Gulfport which during WW2 was a staging and shipping port for anything going to Europe. In one of the warehouses years prior they found a crate of Thompsons. And also a Harley Davidson crate with all accessories. Could be true or some seabee bent the truth

You seem to misunderstand the Constitution or the Bruen ruling or both - ignoring, of course, that the court virtually rejected Bruen in Rahimi but let's pretend Bruen is still the standard because it is the closest thing to the actual 2nd Amendment that we've ever heard out of the Courts.
Prior to 1968, any 6-year-old could go into any ATF store - you know, the ones that sell alcohol, tobacco, and firearms - and buy any non-NFA gun in the store. In fact, that same 6-year-old could, before 1934, go into the same ATF store, and buy one of those Tommy guns you mentioned, complete, unrusted, with stock.
It was not the law that prevented the 6-year-old from buying those guns. It was the seller and the parents. And that worked just fine for 177 years. It was only as the Government increased their controls and limitations on access to guns that gun crimes began to increase. Returning to pre-1934 or 1968 laws is the thing to do, not a standardized age of majority.
So tell me, please, where is the historic tradition of prohibiting anyone from buying guns because of their age. The 2nd Amendment protection of the right of the people to keep and bear arms precludes age restrictions. There never was any such protection of an uninfringed right to vote, nor any such uninfringed right or duty to serve in the militia or standing army. There is no constitutional connection, related to age, between the three items you brought together: keeping and bearing arms, voting, militia and/or standing army service.
Repeat after me: The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
