I hate it when a court declares a law unconstitutional...when applied only to a particular person. If it's unconstitutional for one person, it should be unconstitutional for everyone!!
Every weapons or arms ban is unconstitutional. That's just common sense as that's what the 2nd ammendment says..and arms is a weapon of anykind. Anykind. Anykind
Every switchblade I ever owned would gain slop or fall apart just from doing light duty tasks. I'm sure there are some $600 Italian stilettos that are decent, but that's a lot of cash for a one-trick pony.
They know already. I live in a state that bans "assault knives", fixed blade knives fall into that category. They dont actually call them assault knives but they may as well, because there's a defacto feature list for what makes a knife illegal to carry in my state.
*"Arms" has never been limited in meaning to firearms. It's not a good idea to say it's never meant firearms, because that implies it still never means firearms. Lol
The dude showed amazing self-restraint. With 20/20 hindsight knowing the other guy didn't shoot him and his wife. In the moment, with no assurance that the raging idiot coming at you with a gun would not use it, defend yourself and your family. First and FOREMOST, avoid the situation to begin with. If you are in a road rage situation, don't stop. If you're stopped and you see the guy exit his vehicle with a gun, reverse out of the situation. Don't sit there like an idiot hoping you don't get shot, or that you can win a gunfight with a guy who's free to maneuver while you're trapped in a car.
No one is going to mention that the Road Rage guy, who was so enthusiastically attempting to "take the Room Temperature Challenge", was named "Slane"? I mean, the jokes almost write themselves.
In their decision, when the court writes about using the weapon in one hand and calling the police in the other hand they are referring to language found in the Heller decision.
In the MA ruling the judge again falls in to the gun grabbers language saying arms can only be used for self defense. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled it is "self defense and all other lawful purposes".

How the hell does a court say that knives aren’t arms only firearms and knives then apply 2nd amendment concepts (dangerous and unusual test) on said knife? And then say no constitutional to make illegal.
@@OpenCarryUSMC yeah, nthose mental gymnastics were onanother level even for them. The thing is, to make that claim they are required to provide the burden of proo$, and it seems the court skipped thst required step.

The term firearm existed when they wrote the Constitution. If they meant only firearms, they would had wrote that, but they wrote arms. Hard to argue that a knife does not count.
A knife are arms. All knifes can do the same things, one made for steaks or defense. If it was about safety the government would be more concerned about making driving safer.
The judge was quoting and adopting the language of the Heller decision about handguns, saying switchblades met several criteria mentioned about handguns. It's a dumb analysis, all he had to do is note It is an arm, then the state must prove it is 'dangerous and unusual', which it fails at as there are many millions of these knives in legal use and commerce in the US. We're definitely about to see attorneys general argue that rifles and shotguns are not "arms" because they're hard to hold while you're on the phone with 911, though. The stupid is infectious.
