Hello again guys! I hope this build video serves you well, thank you for all of the questions and requests about this. They take a lot of work, but we do plan to release more build videos like this for the other weapons where possible - in my case, I'll be making one for Switch Axe very soon! Elembane works when the monsters element weakness is 25 or higher, so, only use it if that's the case! One really big and important note: in Rise and Sunbreak, Attack Boost no longer gives any affinity, even at level 4+. It now only gives raw, with an additional small % raw on top at higher levels, but no affinity at any point. And since affinity becomes more valuable than raw starting at 190 weapon base raw, there is practically no reason to use attack boost anymore outside of pure raw builds like GL or Sticky HBG.
This all depends on what you want to do. I can fit Atk7, CE7, WE3, CB3, CE3, CC3 and the chosen element 5, plus some other QoL skills. It hits way bigger damage than a Bloodlust element build even if the element can reach higher temporarily, which can barely fit CB or Attack. The other option is a Red Scroll Dereliction build or Blue Scroll Mail of Hellfire, both of which can be OP depending on your talisman, but at the cost of your health/defenses and slots. Try this armor set: Kaiser Crown X Archfiend Armor Baulo Kaiser Vambraces X Rathalos Coil X Ingot Greaves X Attack 3/Critical Eye 3, Chain Crit 2, 4-0-0 (or 4-1-1 if you get it somehow, this talisman is broken) With Magma Shredders you can reach around 124 Fire element on Archdemon Mode and Chain Crit uptime (super easy to keep) for example, and you still hit higher damage with Feral Archdemon Mode (over 120 damage spike on Piercing Bind).
Thank you for making such an informative Video while keeping it relatively short and sweet! I actually run a Dereliction DB Build as well, but only the Legs of the Armor. Rest would be Malzeno Waist to manage the health-drain with the heal from attacking broken parts, as well as Heas, Shoulders and Torso from Astalos for the Chain Chrit. While it does not bring the same insane numbers, this is a bit easier to manage while still allowing for comparetively fast clears. Just in case anyone wants to try something a little different ^^
I have been staying away from MH content because I’ve just only got to MR4 but i started using dual blades and just wanted to know if anyone else thought they are friggin bonkers. First part of the video told me what I wanted to hear 😄
Just my opinion but for the elemental dual blades I would take I to account the 35% buff to element when in Demon mode since that is a reasonable enough assumption to have a high uptime. It wouldn't change most of your conclusions but for the ice it would favor the Daora or even the Auroracanth DBs more than the Lunagaron.
Our reasoning there is that some monsters have low element weakness, but much higher physical, so the better physical options that have good element still, such as Luna, wins VS Kushala win in these cases.
Weird question. But how do you know if a monster is more weak to physical than an elemental status? Like, how do you know when to use Luna DB over Kushala DB?
@@LaplaceBacklogs Was shown in the video, you can look at monster weaknesses in your hunting logs. I'd consider any elemental resist 10 and lower to be quite low, 10-20 average and above 20 quite high. Rajang having 30 head weakness to ice, you'd use Kushala.
It's just Min maxing for the sake of min maxing. It might save you a minute or 2, or even a few seconds to the kill/capture in the hunt. I'd honestly recommend Teostra's DB, and you also get some decent Blast along with Ice which is extra DPS when blast goes off, and has base affinity of 10% (making with WEX and CE, 100%) and a level 2 deco slot and lvl 2 rampage slot. Downside is 300 base attack, but sounds fair when you're getting 2 elements.
Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, so I'll throw in my two cents. If you're like me and haven't reached MR 50 yet, I'd use the Shagaru arm piece in place of F. Rajang until you get there. You still max out Crit Element, and a 4 slot to play with as a bonus.
I also running DB build using final boss armor, and have couple solution for that hefty hp drain 1. There's a new dango that allow you to constantly recover your health, at lvl 4 using the jumping stick it can recover good amount of hp 2. Using the area healing scroll on your palamute equipment That 2 is enough to slow down the blood drain
Such a great moral boost for me to know that when it comes to element DB, Hollow and I were on the same wavelength. I *literally* made a element DB set almost identical to this, difference being the arms (I haven't gotten past MR 50 for Rajang...) and the talisman. And we both did the same thing when it came to having Dereliction on the build! I feel so validated as a certified DB main.
Strongly recommend getting used to Dereliction on DB once you can eat for Super Dango Recovery and carry Gourmet Fish. The downside is nearly eliminated and the damage is VERY MUCH worth it. It took me a long time to be comfortable with the life drain, but I honestly don't even notice it now. I just stay in red scroll with Ironshine now, with Shrouded on swap for REAL stupid moves like Allmothers dragonator blender.
I have two different ones, one extremely rough the other a bit easier. One having Derilict 3, Blood Lust 1, Wex 3, Crit boost 3, Crit Element 3, Evade Window 5, 5 Elemental attack, Blood Rite 2 for recovery. The evade 5 is my sharpness management and the other has derilict 3 gone and razor sharp 3 instead
@@spirit7537 Not at all :) Which version would you like the dereliction or not? I also swapped around a bit, the non deriliction now has bladescale hone 3 for max sharpness comfort on top of it, not a single sharpen with the Thunder DB during a hunt (I don't count the silkbind) and it kept on purple for all but half a minute maybe
This the build I came up with using the same armor/weapon and a different talisman. I used a Talisman with the 1 level 3 slot with Speed Sharpening Lv.2 and Evade Extender Lv.2. The Decorations I used the skills are the fallowing: Critical Eye Lv.7, Dragon Attack Lv.5, Critical Boost Lv.3, Weakness Exploit Lv.3, Critical Element Lv.3, Marathon Runner Lv.3, Speed Sharpening Lv.3, Chain Crit Lv.3, Evade Extender Lv.2, Resentment Lv.1, Constitution Lv.1 and Furious Lv.1
I never knew until recently that dragonheart got nerfed by like 50% also I feel your pain of not getting the narwa parts. I'm missing the thunder serpent orbs aswell and it took me half a day of farming to get a mantle from Rathalos to finish up a build
My build is very close to this. Wex, Crit boost, and Ele Crit tend to lead much better numbers. Only challenge is requiring to change my decos for every hunt, and makes randoms completely reliant on luck.
Fun fact. A Blast Build is recommended for Aurora Somnocanth. Her elem hit zones suck and her weak points are annoying. But she's relatively weak to Blast.
Just asking, The weapon in the Aeluvanth tree “Gila Ro Waga” wouldn’t be better than the Valstrax weapon for dragon? It has 3 jewel slot, 2 double and 1 single and a 3 rampage slot, 320 attack white with a little bit of purple and 44 dragon element
It doesn’t have purple unless you invest a lot into sharpness skills, too much to make it worth it really. Purple is a no go on them but they are still pretty good otherwise
Bruh, I just got 3 dragonsphires and 1 red orb in the target rewards after hunting my 3rd MR Valstrax. Now luck is now screwed the rest of the game lol. Also, Thank you for the builds. Ive been kicking ass with them!
An other alternative for the Zinogre DB : Use Tobi Kadachi X boots : insted of having 2 atk boost, u ll get 7/7 critical eyes. Our build is based on pur elemental crit so i prefer go this way insted of having +6 raw damages.
SDShepard did a video on the rampage decorations. All of the anti species decorations give only 5% extra raw damage now, so the more specific ones no longer give 10%. Anti aerial works on a lot of elder dragons while anti aquatic works on crabs, and fanged exploit works on fanged beasts. All do the same thing, but now each covers a specific niche (though anti wyvern covers the most). Also I'm sure you know, but for anyone who doesn't elembane only triggers if the elemental hitzone is 25 or higher.
While just going through the story, the full Zinogre set is actually really good for DBs. Max Latent Power, Weakness Exploit, and Crit Element. Max constitution is also a nice little bonus
Thanks for the builds! It would be cool to include a budget loadout that works with only craftable decos and talismans though, considering how terrible of a sport RNGsus can be.
yup for the quiros effect it sucks but using like a sushifish or a gourmetfish I think 🤔 kinda helped for depleting health found out why'll useing a long sword love the video
I'm using the magnamalo DBs with magna soul, 350 attack, endboss skill lv 3, WEX lv 3, CB lv3, crit lv 2, handicraft lv 1, quick sharpening lv 3, hellfire cloak lv 4, constitution lv 3, those stat boosting skill that Pop when u are inflicted with status (forgot the name) lv 3, the other that comes from shagaru and boosts affinity when u are healed from status lv 1 and that one skill that boosts your attack by 25 when u have Red health lv 5. I saw my attack go up to 580 + after my cat boosted me. That was nuts and those explosions that trigger like every few Hits hit with 200 damage. Its so much fun to hunt mons with this. I used to switch the 2 crit jewels for bubbly dance 4 and 1 deco, so i dont have to rely on hellfire cloak and can just trigger that sweet +20 attack buff by will.
So, let's say that hypothetically, someone wanted a Raw Dual Blades build because they love how the Garangolm Blades look and the Deco Slots on them. What kinda build would that person use?
is there a reason you chose the lunagaron weapon instead of the auroracanth one for ice? autora got SUCH a massive element attack compared to luna, idk about the rarity 10 weapons as i havent gotten that far but is the sharpness worth the massive reduction in elemental dmg?
I'm surprised you put so little emphasis on the Elembane jewel. That thing is absolutely nuts in the situation where it works. 30% more element damage against elemental hitzones of 25 or higher? Many monsters don't have that, but when you can hit it, oh boy does this thing ramp up your damage.
Is level 3 Chain Crit worth the slots? I saw a post saying the difference in damage between level 1 and level 3 is only about 10% increase. That would make it pretty negligible, and might be better to try and slot in something else instead.
really cool build but dayum all that math melted my brain & dereliction is just a pain to manage at times when I can use bubbly dance/coalescence to do pretty much the same thing with none of those negative side effects.... & don't even get me started on how much I hate doing the affinity math so I opted to just always use the Hellion Mode gem & never have to think about affinity ever again (bladescale hone is
Thank you for these explications about this build like that I can have a better build now cuz I had the best damage build and elemental build before SUNBREAK
Why not just use Teostra's DB's? It has 52 ice, 10% base affinity, lvl 2 deco slot, and rampage slot, with 40 blast as well, which a few monsters are weak too, and is extra DPS when it goes off. Downside, they only have 300 raw attack, but is only a 10 loss to Kushala, and 20 to Luna. Edit: I just realized, you're missing 1 point into Brace. This build will be unsuable around other hunters.
4:02 and that's why I'm just sticking with longsword for now until I get a god talisman for dual blades. Like I got a lvl 3 quick sheath with a lvl 3 slot talisman, how am I not gonna play longsword with a talisman like that?
How are you dealing with stamina management? I was thinking of swapping attack boost for marathon runner, but I am not sure if that would be the best call
Using furious head arms and legs are crazy for DB. But honestly Gilia ro waga is better for dragon and with the daira soul. You do twin as much dmg then val
I just started using db because furious interested me that much, I use dereliction 1 on the legs, divine ire mask and gloves, malzeno mail and coil. All my elements have crit eye 6 and wex 3 part breaker 3 razor sharp 3. Its really really cozy for those that don't like dereliction and want to keep health up as well as sever tails in seconds
Quick question: does the anti-dragon jewel / wyvern exploit skill work against elder dragons? Seeing as it's not in its description I assume not. Currently grinding the final boss for the mantle and getting a bit of extra damage is ofcourse grealy appreciated.
Unfortunately no. It seems weird but a good way to remember how it works is by the fact that in Japanese, it was anti wyvern, not dragon. And leviathans are there too because they also are classed as a subtype of wyvern in the Japanese text apparently.
so one minor thing for db with the new rampage slots with a level 3 you can get hellion mode so if you run that wex can be skipped for polish or other damage skill like crt elm or the very big one of elem exploit is also a very stong contender for that level 3 rampage slot
you can mitigate the hp drain with gourmet fish+super recovery dango lv4. just about covers the whole drain without needing other armour skills, but has enough of a net loss to keep resentment permanently enabled (and you can always quickly swap scrolls and back f it's dicey and you need a heal)
Would the aurora somnacanth dual blade still be viable for an ice dual blades set? They have the 62 ice when fully upgraded but the sharpness is a bit lacking compared to the other options. Though ironshine silk should make the sharpness manageable
Think you awnsered your own question 😅 well in all honesty i think for ice its really up to personal preference if you want higher elemental go for it I'm sure it'll do fine
Speed sharpening is basically useless in my eyes because dual blades has the switch skil that sharpened your weapon. So speed sharpening can be replaced by something else if wanted.
Great guide, have been following the video and getting the pieces and the tips video, but since I'm still MR30, I'm still far from reaching MR50 and unlock Furious Rajang. What can i use instead? any recommendations?
Help with which one is better? Fire Attack 5, AB 4, Agitator 3, resentment 3, CE 3, CB 3, WE 3, Cr Elements 3, Constitution 3, Chain Crit 3, Slugger 2, Wirebug Whisper 1 Or Fire Attack 5, AB 4, resentment 3, CE 4, CB 3, WE 3, Cr Elements 3, Constitution 3, Chain Crit 3, Slugger 2, Furious 1 So should i take Furious 1 over Agitator 3?
I noticed an error in your calculations that I wanted to share. You're adding the flat additions to raw and element attack (ex. the +8 from Attack Boost and +15 from Chain Crit) before applying your multipliers, but I don't think that's how it works in-game. I'm pretty sure it multiplies your weapon base damage using any stat multipliers (like the +6% from Attack Boost), then adds the flat stat additions, then multiplies again for sharpness and critical hits and whatnot. If I'm right, that means the flat increases aren't as valuable as your formula makes them to be - meaning maybe things like Chain Crit aren't as good as we think they are (granted, I can't think of another good damage-boosting skill and we've got the bandwidth, so it might not be replaced by anything, I just like knowing the math is right 😅). To test this, I looked at how Chain Crit changed my Status page. With just Chain Crit 3, hitting 5 times increased both my raw and my water by +15. I then added Attack Boost 7 and Water Attack 5 to see if the gain from Chain Crit would be amplified by their multipliers. It was not - 5 hits still just gave me +15 to raw and water.
Again, we'd have to be in pretty niche situations for this slight calculation difference to actually change what makes the "highest damage" build, but it doesn't hurt to be more accurate. Well, maybe it does. The math gets a lot less straight-forward 😅 Anyways. It's at least worth knowing because for me, I'm still deciding if I want Chain Crit or comfort skills, so it's good for me to know how far the Chain Crit is actually going.
Don't sleep on Resuscitate builds, combining Coalescence/Hell Fire/Bubble Dance and Blood Lust 1 to round it out. As a DB or SnS you can change out weapons for elemental preference. Constant status on yourself is constant ticks of Coalescence that you control, also having a weapon with 2 Rampage gives you Hellfire booster.

Teostra’s Blessing 3, while a very nice QOL touch when applicable, is amazing but really, you only need to have it at 2. Teostra’s DB are my favorite and I feel like we’re probably running the same thing. Except I chose the dereliction path with the leg piece.
@@ItzMiKeKirbY I'm using teostra head, jelly chest, teostra hands and waist, tobikadachi legs. I was using this same set in high rank in base rise but now the MR version of the set gives +2 teo blessing on the waist instead of +1 like in high rank
@@noble61483 Yup, that’s exactly the same staple I had at base game, too! I decided to swap out Kadachi’s legs for the Dereliction leg piece because of the amazing jewel slots and, since all I minimally really need is 2 Teostra’s Blessing, I swapped out the hands for the Lagombi X ones. Then, I boldly decided to drop the Master’s Touch jewels and try out Ironshine Silk. I haven’t looked back since. I barely ever sharpen during a hunt anymore.

That 2 is enough to slow down the blood drain
I run a healing Palico for that problem and let my dog do the damage the new range set up for dogs is awesome
I’m in the same spot, it’s crazy powerful when you get to used
You also have dango shifter. Gives health every time you swap skills
@@GhettoJesus23 true. I try not to swap skills if I can help it, though, to keep my Dereliction maxes
btw where do you get gourmet fish?
@@slashdementia Using--i think ANY-- fish in the Motley Mix at the kitchens
As a dual blades main this will be quite helpful for trying out different builds.
Mind posting that build seems like absolute destruction on afflicted
@@spirit7537 Not at all :) Which version would you like the dereliction or not? I also swapped around a bit, the non deriliction now has bladescale hone 3 for max sharpness comfort on top of it, not a single sharpen with the Thunder DB during a hunt (I don't count the silkbind) and it kept on purple for all but half a minute maybe
@@Kegaran both would be lovely cause I'm looking to Dabble in it
@@spirit7537 Alright! I will post them here after my stream is over
@@Kegaran sounds wonderful thanks matey
I tried dual blades because of this video and omg I think I found my new favorite weapon in sunbreak. Thanks so much 💜💜
Awesome video! Definitely coming back to this in the future. Added to playlist :]
This the build I came up with using the same armor/weapon and a different talisman.
I used a Talisman with the 1 level 3 slot with Speed Sharpening Lv.2 and Evade Extender Lv.2.
The Decorations I used the skills are the fallowing:
Critical Eye Lv.7, Dragon Attack Lv.5, Critical Boost Lv.3, Weakness Exploit Lv.3, Critical Element Lv.3, Marathon Runner Lv.3, Speed Sharpening Lv.3, Chain Crit Lv.3, Evade Extender Lv.2, Resentment Lv.1, Constitution Lv.1 and Furious Lv.1
If you drop attack and get some handicraft on DB's that get some purple it should increase your damage more if you upkeep your sharpness.
I never knew until recently that dragonheart got nerfed by like 50% also I feel your pain of not getting the narwa parts. I'm missing the thunder serpent orbs aswell and it took me half a day of farming to get a mantle from Rathalos to finish up a build
Finally. Thank you for the build.
My build is very close to this. Wex, Crit boost, and Ele Crit tend to lead much better numbers. Only challenge is requiring to change my decos for every hunt, and makes randoms completely reliant on luck.
I can't really make an element build for my dualies, but I can make a raw set. Definitely looking forward to testing this.
Yeah i was feeling like on this game raw damage is good enough for db
@@frantravez5615 yeah. Unless something hellish like alatreon is introduced this'll suffice XD
@@groudongamer3178 whar do you think about the best raw build, chamaleos + foray, or maybe seregios one?
@@frantravez5615 whatever has good affinity and or sharpness. So either could work. I prefer furious or kamura because of the slots.
That Talisman is hefty. But thank you for making this video its suuuuper helpful! The builds are really really awesome and strong! Amazing!
Could we also get a blast build? I feel like it's mad underrated.
Always wondered when will hollow appear in a hunt vid with the other 2
how about the Lagombi dual blades, way better slots and base atk? But I seldome see it on videos for ice element sets tho
Fun fact. A Blast Build is recommended for Aurora Somnocanth. Her elem hit zones suck and her weak points are annoying. But she's relatively weak to Blast.
Rajang furious skill + evade extender= the true invulnerable build!
I’ve made multiple Narwa weapons for my purposes and wow. Farming for a Mantle of Origin for each weapon really sucks, but it’s worth it
Just asking, The weapon in the Aeluvanth tree “Gila Ro Waga” wouldn’t be better than the Valstrax weapon for dragon? It has 3 jewel slot, 2 double and 1 single and a 3 rampage slot, 320 attack white with a little bit of purple and 44 dragon element
It has a bit less Dragon element but yes, its much comfier (slots wise) to use those.
It doesn’t have purple unless you invest a lot into sharpness skills, too much to make it worth it really. Purple is a no go on them but they are still pretty good otherwise
I really enjoyed this build guide! I can't wait for more Dualbades builds!
Bruh, I just got 3 dragonsphires and 1 red orb in the target rewards after hunting my 3rd MR Valstrax. Now luck is now screwed the rest of the game lol. Also, Thank you for the builds. Ive been kicking ass with them!
I feel the Zinogre Thunder Blades are pretty close to the Narwa ones consider you lose a slot.
I agree! I like as many slots as possible
Unfortunately, for stuoif Capcom reasons, Demon Mode attacks do not trigger latent power.
@@MirrenTheDragonKnight That sucks. How can I still take advantage of the skill? By attacking in Archdemon mode instead?
@@korokseed1619 I believe so.
@@MirrenTheDragonKnight Ok so at least it’s still useful
I’m surprised the Espinas dual blades weren’t mentioned they are insane
Consider actually having a DB build for each element. At the moment I have fire/poison and Ice that I could build with.
Thank you for the great video. I am using this build as well and it feels so good to deal triple digit damage!!!
Me, a DB main watching this: This pleases me greatly. Also, I should take notes lmao
I use a speed sharpening 3 talisman instead with 2-2-1 slots on it for the thunder build
Was looking forward to this.
No stam surge or con on that first set?
DB has always been spicy in MHR; and with the capitalisation of elements, along with the buffs, they're insane now. 🥵
DB is just insane period. they make every hunt easy af.
It's time to play with DB! 😍 Sick build will try it 100%
really cool build but dayum all that math melted my brain & dereliction is just a pain to manage at times when I can use bubbly dance/coalescence to do pretty much the same thing with none of those negative side effects.... & don't even get me started on how much I hate doing the affinity math so I opted to just always use the Hellion Mode gem & never have to think about affinity ever again (bladescale hone is
ive been waiting for this
As a dual blade main since MHW i love it here xD
I hope you guys are going to make builds for every weapon
Thank you for these explications about this build like that I can have a better build now cuz I had the best damage build and elemental build before SUNBREAK
Dual blade's Chain crit is + 15 / + 12 and not +15 / +15
Can you make more vids with ur voice, i like it!🤣
Why not just use Teostra's DB's?
Anti-Aerial is the one that works against Elders iirc.
@@travis5903 Ah, thanks for sharing. I'll test it out and see if it does more damage.
Can we have one for bow now? I'm running my own, but I would like to see what you guys can do with it.
Yea agreed, but if you also run protective polish It can be nice
Great guide, have been following the video and getting the pieces and the tips video, but since I'm still MR30, I'm still far from reaching MR50 and unlock Furious Rajang. What can i use instead? any recommendations?
Wonder when Josh is gonna put out the updated Magic Bow build
YEEEESSSS! YESSSS! THX YOU!!
Yeah, when I used the new skillbind for the first time, hitting 180s was fucking disgusting lmao. I hope they don't get nerfed
i love jewel blades, so much fun to hunt with it
DAS A LOT OF MATH but explained really easily well done Hollow
Why not use the Zinogre dual blades? Only slightly less Thunder but that extra 2 slot really makes it a lot easier to build, imo.
So it’s better than using Teostra tec for fire, stormsoul for dragon and thunder, and Kushala blessing for ice and stream?
Help with which one is better?
Fire Attack 5, AB 4, Agitator 3, resentment 3, CE 3, CB 3, WE 3, Cr Elements 3, Constitution 3, Chain Crit 3, Slugger 2, Wirebug Whisper 1
Or
Fire Attack 5, AB 4, resentment 3, CE 4, CB 3, WE 3, Cr Elements 3, Constitution 3, Chain Crit 3, Slugger 2, Furious 1
So should i take Furious 1 over Agitator 3?

The math gets a lot less straight-forward 😅
Anyways. It's at least worth knowing because for me, I'm still deciding if I want Chain Crit or comfort skills, so it's good for me to know how far the Chain Crit is actually going.
Most skills are different but I'm running an ice version of this currently just to farm parts.
Don't sleep on Resuscitate builds, combining Coalescence/Hell Fire/Bubble Dance and Blood Lust 1 to round it out. As a DB or SnS you can change out weapons for elemental preference. Constant status on yourself is constant ticks of Coalescence that you control, also having a weapon with 2 Rampage gives you Hellfire booster.
can we get some longsword builds soon? i wanna see how my build stacks up to what you all at RageGaming come up with
I made a set using teostra dual blades with teostra's soul deco using armor skills Crit+7,WEX+3,CB+3,Blast+3,Teostra's Blessing+3,Crit Element+3,Stun resist+3, and flinch free+1 also my talismans has evade extender +2 with 2 level 3 slots which gives lots of damage and crit with comfy skills included 😉
@@ItzMiKeKirbY very nice! 👍
