  • Hey there! I'm back again with another tutorial and pattern for you!
    So here's a little bit about the Eva Pattern:
    🖤 It has exposed seams that give it a bustier look;
    🖤 It's available in both long and short sleeve version;
    🖤 Recommended fabrics: knits or jerseys with at least 60% stretch.
    🖤 You need a serger to make this one!
    🖤A twin needle is optional but personally it's how I prefer to hem stretchy fabrics.
    The pattern is currently available in the sizes S, M, L and XL. I’m aware of how not size inclusive it is but I’m still learning about grading for bigger sizes so please bare with me!
    Oh, you want to know why this one is called Eva? The design is inspired by Evangelion. I feel like an humanoid robot when i wear this one which i find pretty cool.
    You can find the pattern here: cool-stitches....
    *for personal use only.
    I'd love to see what you make with this one so if you end up making it just use #madewithcoolstitches or tag me @coolstitches
    Browse through my site to see my other pattern: cool-stitches....
    happy sewing!! 🖤

    I’m sorry but I’ve just noticed that the settings I shared for my serger are incorrect. I don’t have the left needle on so it’s a 3 thread stitch instead of 4. Just ignore the settings in the left needle and take that one out. Again, I’m sorry for the mistake 🙏

      You’ve no idea how helpful this tip was, I’ve never known of anyone else ever mention it and I have the same serger as you so it should at least be the perfect place to start, thank you!

    Nice pattern only thing I’ll says is to have the option to filter out the sizes to print instead of having only one option for all the sizes to print. I just wanted print out size 40 but there was not option to select only that size. Lastly. I wish the sizes ranges bigger because the larger size 48 is technically a size small/medium. Ohhh and I wish the lines of the sizes were different colors because it’s kinda hard to point out the lines when cutting. Other than that I love the pattern and I’ll be making a few more of these tops for myself

    Love this! The tutorial and the top!!!!! So so beautiful and clear! Quick question, would one be able to make this without a server? I am thinking a zig zag stitch could possibly create a similar effect?

      O think that the way it would work best for anyone who doesn't have a serger would be to use a flat felled seam. It would look good in contrasting thread and I think the seam would hold up really well. But to be honest I haven't tested it so I'd have to to make sure it works 😬

      Or maybe create 'bias' tape with a stretchy fabric to close the seams?

      Hey Alex! I've done a similar diy using a zigzag stitch on a rib knit tee , and it worked just as well (-: it just won't be as clean looking is all

    I’ve made the top and i love how it looks. The only thing was i made a size 38 and it fits like 34/36, it fits but its a little to tight. Maybe it’s the stretch but i’m gonna make it again with a bigger size. Hopefully this time it will fit better!

    Thank you for this pattern- I just made it. It was my first time sewing knits using the serger - super easy. I used a thrifted men's cotton turtleneck that did not have enough stretch and it is a little small ( I think the stretch is the problem??) Although I did not see where the sizes corresponded to measurements. Can't wait to make it again with the right material.

    Hey! I’m looking at making the bias tape version of this top, do you think that version would work without the serger?

    Hi! How did you complete the neck line and arm holes on the sleeveless version? I really like that option but I’m not sure to to make it look so smooth? Is it two layers of fabric? Thanks!

    • @CoolStitches
      @CoolStitches  3 роки тому +1

      I made that one using the burrito method! You need to cut two upper front pieces and two backs. I’d love to blue able to explain how it’s done with words but I’m finding it hard 🙈 but let me try. You sew the back piece to the front piece at the shoulders. Do the same to the other front and back piece. Than put them right sides facing and sew the neckline and armholes. Turn everything inside out and you’ll have a clean neckline and harmholes 🤗 the rest you sew as you would for the regular version!
