you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last couple of months =)
I wish you had spent more time explaining the neck lining because I can't understand it but this is a great tutorial nonetheless, I love how the shirt (except for the neck lining lol) turned out
I think this way is very practical instead of making a pattern in a pattern paper with confusing computations on my body measurements which I even doubt if Im doing it right! Yes it's best to get a garment that fits me perfectly and make it as a pattern instead! Why not!? I got my own sewing machine with a main goal of sewing my own garments and not for other's garments! That's the main reason why I bought my own sewing machine to begin with!! For me as my hobby!! Thank you so much!
Oh man, I spent hours looking a for a pattern so that I could make a shirt exactly like the cropped one. I bought a pdf one and spent ages joining it all together yesterday, I had never done a collar before so I thought I needed a pattern to wrap my head around it. My point is I wish I had found this video earlier and saved my joints from all that taping haha. I'll still use your video to help me figure it out!
Loved the video! It's a button down when the collar has buttons on it that button down. If it doesn't have buttons on the collar it's a button up! Heard that on a podcast the other day and it blew my mind lol!
She explains so well and make everything sound so simple. Makes me wanna try sewing a shirt now. I'm watching all her videos to create my own piece. Wonderful. Thank you, sis!!!!
Thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos for us!! I really enjoyed watching it!💕 Now I can’t wait to make my own button-up when my exams are over and when the weather becomes better here for such cute summer clothing!!😊
I've never successfully made a shirt but this seems easy enough. Thank you for the tutorial and for including different options and time stamps too. I'll give it a try! ☺️
Omg, that almost-Matisse-patterned fabric! What even... it's so beautiful 😍 And this tutorial just gave me a project for a lovely piece of fabric i thrifted a few weeks ago. Thank youuuuu 💜💜
i'd really love to have a downloadable pattern for this ddress! this is EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN WANTING TO ,MAKE FOR YEARS AND WHY I GOT INTO SEWING BUT I COULD NEVER FIND THE PATTERN! im so in love with your page and creativity!!!!
Hi Maddy! for the regular sleeves, It's LxW twice correct? I got teeny sleeves when I cut them out and it dawned on me that I may be been needing to double the measurement. haha. Thanks! LOOVE the tutorial.
Great tutorial! Very detailed and simple instructions which are great for a beginner like me. I'll be getting out my machine for the first time in a while, which is exciting as I'll be attempting a dress for the first time!
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a really cute linen that I think would look amazing as a cropped button up shirt! I'll try to make the collar, which scares me a lot because I'm still a beginner, but I really wanna try! Thank you for your videos!
Thank you!! I got both of them from a shop around the corner from me called Fantazia Fabric Land but they're pretty old school and I don't believe they sell online.
The dress shirt is an ankara fabric? Because I have 5 metres at home of 100%cotton ankara. So I will do this dress. You make make sleeves so easy. I was stuck on sleeves other day doing a jersey top for my daughter. Now I learn how to do sleeves. Thank you so much.
If you're doing short, regular sleeves and a normal shirt length I'd probably suggested 2/3 amount in the description area and that should be plenty enough! eg. for the Small instead of 2m I'd suggest around 1.3m Hope that helps!!
I love your tutorial! I am just a bit confused by the sleeve drafting process: did you measure the circumference of the armhole or the width (so straight across)?
Can you do a tutorial just on the sleeves. Just for me it was just too fast, or the video cut to you just speaking and I didn’t quote understand how you got to a certain point x
It would be more helpful to actually walk through the collar options with you as you do them and speak slower. It was more difficult in those areas to follow what you’re actually doing because there’s a lot of speeding up and flipping the fabric around in the editing you did.
20 minutes video you showing off youeself for 19 min and 1 min is about fast forward about sewing we are watching you or how to diy|sewing??? sorry wrong subscrib.
I feel way less intimidated to give a shirt a go now after seeing this, thanks!
LOVE hearing that! You are so so welcome 💕💕
how u always know exactly what I want to make is astounding to me
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last couple of months =)
@Gideon Jonathan Yea, been using InstaFlixxer for since november myself :D

*This fabric predicts a lot of vacations* 💙💙
Omg I have wanted to learn how to make a shirt like that for a long time, thanks for teaching us 🤍
Glad I could help! 😊
A button down is when there are tiny buttons on the pointy bit of the collar, that are essentially "buttoned down"! Great tutorial!
Loved the video! It's a button down when the collar has buttons on it that button down. If it doesn't have buttons on the collar it's a button up! Heard that on a podcast the other day and it blew my mind lol!
oooo that makes sense!! That's for clarifying ♥️♥️
She explains so well and make everything sound so simple. Makes me wanna try sewing a shirt now. I'm watching all her videos to create my own piece. Wonderful. Thank you, sis!!!!
You literally read my mind!! I was just going to make this as a matching set with the wrap skirt I made following your tutorial :)
That sounds epic! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I was thinking of making the same set, crazy! How did it turn out?
Your friggin button container!! 😍😍
It was originally my Grandma's!! Forever obsessed with it 🙌🏻

Making my first proper shirt! Your tutorial really simplified everything and made it so much less scary. Ty.
Can’t believe you scored that Matisse inspired Alexander Henry!!! 😻😻😻
riiiight! Such a gem, I don't think the garment would be the same without it.
Queen✨ thanks for everything, loved the matisse inspired garment
You are beyond welcome!! Thanks so much for your support. I'm obsessed with that print too 😍

I always wanted to make this type of shirt as i'm a beginner everything was confusing to me but this is so easy definitely gonna make it.🤍
This is the easiest tutorial I've ever come across. You got a subscriber just because of that.
Can't wait to try this one out! Thanks so much!
So so welcome!! Excited to see how yours turns out.
Hi Maddy! for the regular sleeves, It's LxW twice correct? I got teeny sleeves when I cut them out and it dawned on me that I may be been needing to double the measurement. haha. Thanks! LOOVE the tutorial.

your finished pieces look amazing and this seems like a very helpful tutorial overall so I'm excited to give one of these a go soon!
I love the “button up” version.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a really cute linen that I think would look amazing as a cropped button up shirt! I'll try to make the collar, which scares me a lot because I'm still a beginner, but I really wanna try! Thank you for your videos!

Tell me how Maddy makes attaching sleeves so easy. I've been sewing for years but always too scared to make sleeves on my garments!
Where did you get your fabric from? Love the cropped shirt xx
Thank you!! I got both of them from a shop around the corner from me called Fantazia Fabric Land but they're pretty old school and I don't believe they sell online.
I love how much effort you put into the video 😍 I'll definitely try the puffy sleeve thing. I love how the shirt turned out. Awesome
Hey love you video ♥️ can you please tell us the proper measurements, what to take
The dress shirt is an ankara fabric? Because I have 5 metres at home of 100%cotton ankara. So I will do this dress.
You make make sleeves so easy.
I was stuck on sleeves other day doing a jersey top for my daughter. Now I learn how to do sleeves. Thank you so much.

It probably does, I just don't have the foot for it. Something I need to look into more but it always ends up at the bottom of the list haha!
Thanks for this!
hi! how much fabric would you suggest for the shirt length button-up? great tutorial btw :)
If you're doing short, regular sleeves and a normal shirt length I'd probably suggested 2/3 amount in the description area and that should be plenty enough! eg. for the Small instead of 2m I'd suggest around 1.3m
Hope that helps!!
Hi & thank you first. We cant see the neck lining part. I imagine that front lining part is continuing to the other, from passing neck. 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for sharing
I love your tutorial! I am just a bit confused by the sleeve drafting process: did you measure the circumference of the armhole or the width (so straight across)?
It’ll be the circumference I’m pretty sure as when you pin it the arm hole and the sleeve circumference will then match up :)
This is so cute!! 😍
how many times did u fold the extra cloth to hide the raw edges on the sides?? i cant decide between doing two or three
Very good ,Thks
Hemen abone oldum dikişi çok seviyorum👍👍
Maravilhosa!
Oh, i love it😍♥️
I'm almost done on my first mockup, it's a very clean white and tbh I think it looks like a lab coat.
same i’m sewing this with white fabric and it looks like a lab coat as well
I really loved your work and the print of crop shirt 😍♥️ has my heart ..........keep going !!!❤️✨
How much fabric did you use for the top?
Which type of tape did u use in armhole area
I’m
Confused how your collar is double fabric and how you made that
❤❤
Thank u soo much u the best😍😍😍😍😗
hiii for the top how much fabric you use?
👍👍👍
I wish you have a pdf pattern🥰
Could u also make this with satin ??
You can. But I think satin can be slippery so you'll probably need to be patient and careful.
Argh!!- I have literally just bought a pattern after searching for days!!!!
Can you do a tutorial just on the sleeves. Just for me it was just too fast, or the video cut to you just speaking and I didn’t quote understand how you got to a certain point x
Amo
Buddons??

I hate buttons. Koumpounophobia I think it's called. They disgust me.
