Been running my gen 2s the last month. About 1,000 through. I noticed the same thing with the plastic baseplates. The only issue I've seen so far is the folks out there with magwells on their 43x and 48's have had fitment issues going from the gen 1 flush plates to the gen 2s. No issues with feeding, or the magazines operation in general. Im going to buy a few more with the extensions for more testing. Only time will tell.
@@bunnyoperator all I guess maybe they fix issues with this mag by gen 8 why they update to gen 2. Junk I guess shield arms end up with a lawsuit Bc of this mag is made by checkmate is 50/50 company they did in past sig mag and had issues some get luck with this mag but after 1 k rounds u be taking risk if only be used for range fine . To eliminate danger if u need to fire more than 3 rounds mean need more training and hard in court to explain why u fire 15 Rounds.
@bunnyoperator Yeah. All my gen 3's are emergency mags as only my gen 2's function correctly. I was curious if the aluminum baseplate would help with the loading to give more clearance for the 15th round. That last round is a doosy. The +5 has issues with pinning the round. Can't load more than 18 to avoid it.
@@LOC_Tactical Ah, I understand. Nope, the alum basepad does not aid in loading the final rounds. It's pretty tight but I am able to load by hand although a speed loader definitely helps. I also have noticed that the malfunctions are more prevalent with the +5 but they do appear with the flush as well. Mine are original from when I got the original Gen 2 mags but SA confirmed that the +0 and +5 basepad designs had not changed since Gen 1, so they did not warranty mine. If there is a problem with the basepads or springs then SA is not focused on identifying it and seem to be focused on the mag bodies and tolerances with the slimline frames. I don't think the execution of the S15 was good enough to function across the board, so it is largely a YMMV type product and I cannot openly recommend them. As with everything, test before you trust. You're already experiencing problems with yours, so I expect additional issues later similar to what so many have already reported to me. Good luck, buddy. Do report back.
@@bkackmagic555 Aw, yea. YT is a pain 😂. You're probably talking about the Modern Retro 14.5 update. It's a DNZ Game Reaper 30mm. They have a 1" version too if you need that.
Not sure if you’ve had a chance to shoot yet, but here are several bench tests you can do on those magazines: ua-cam.com/video/6HuEk7SG1A4/v-deo.html Also, s15 mags are known to scratch & cut deep gouges inside your mag well.

Thank you for the data, Jacob. Shield Arms did advise that the gap was present in Gen1 as well. Time will tell. Will update as I go. Thanks again
Good luck. I had to return all mine watch top corner going to start chip
The corner of which part? Gen2 as well?

How did the +0 aluminum baseplate handle? Looking into getting a couple, but wondered what you thought
It functioned the same as the plastic one. No real benefit either than minor weight increase. These all failed on me regardless with failures to feed.

What's the mount for the lpvo?
Sorry, there isn't an LPVO in this video. I'm no sure what you're referring to.
@@bunnyoperator I think youtube glitches. I was replying to a short where you had a carry handle with an lpvo mounted

@bunny_operator haha. Thanks my man. I'm trying to do a someone retro yet modern carry handle build. Great to use as a riser. Cheap, reliable.

Thank you. Heading to your vid to provide insight on my findings as well.
