Simon Phoenix would of grabbed that rifle. Beautiful.
It's evolved since this video but still retains the core simplicity. I'll release an update video eventually you can find photos and discussions on the newer setup on my socials.
@bunnyoperator nice. Keep supporting the 2A. According to a hidden CDC study released via FOIA, guns are used defensively up to 2.5 million times per year, however the so called humanitarians on the left only seem to want to support that data if the defender drops the perpetrator, scaring them off and refusing to find out if the perpetrator means to do them harm doesn't matter in their eyes I guess. Keep being you, beautiful weapon. -Combat Vet
thank you for pointing this out. I was disappointed with the amount of play in the last plate I bought from c&h. Had to take the time to line it up straight so that my red dot wasnt like a quarter inch left of my front sight.
That's terrible. It's their Chicom outsourced soda can aluminum materials and lack of QC. Their design that uses the Tnuts is also failure prone. Just a shitty design.
Great track choice. Looks sexy. I’m trying to do a complete upper 13.9 on a budget any suggestions
Any shop that makes a 13.9 mid from factory would work for the most part but be cautious with "budget". Recommendation is to get what is within your perimeters. I will always recommend Centurion Arms but you can also look at BRT, BCM, etc. equivalent alternatives.
@ copy thank you sir.
Thank you so much for sharing this!🙏🏽 just saved a lot of people a lot of time and money🙌🏽
Hopefully you didn't experience this firsthand yourself.
So just curious, if I’m wearing a pistol with a “shake awake” optic, would it not be on almost constantly until I take it off? I mean every step must activate it and thus run the battery down? Yes/No?
@@1940restorod That's correct. You save battery when it's not being carried.
What about the buffer weight ?
CMMG recommends that you use the standard carbine weight for max reliability. I've tested the A5 system (along with my peers) with A5H0, A5H1, A5H2 and found that A5H2 had the most consistent ejection unsuppressed but A5H1 had the least reticle movement. You can watch the shorts videos on my channel to compare for yourself. Just search CMMG and they'll appear. I have since gone back to the carbine system to compare H1, carbine, and the CMMG carrier weight inserts. The configuration has also changed on my setup and I've updated to the Gen2 barrel that accepts their Colt mag lower. You'll see that config in the shorts videos. Stay tuned for the buffer test updates but LMK if you need anything else in the mean time.
What is the rear sight at 3:50?
LMT's fixed rear sight.

Nub mod for the staccato version is def worth it. Wasn’t that impressed with the band for lvl 3 will be taking that off for now. With a 509t the P needs to be cocked and locked for the band to clear which is fine but was hoping either way it would work.

clean ur damn bolt
I just built a custom colt fed banshee. Took some work with a dremel to get the feed ramp to fit but got it working. It's an 8" with a BCM mk2 buffer system with a t3 6.5 ounce buffer. Shoots incredibly smooth. I do have a question for you though. I've seen some reports that these guns tend to wear out ejector spring quickly and start to have ejection issues. What is your round count so far and have you had any reliability issues?
@@hardlylivin6602 Nice. I've read reports of that as well especially on the gen 1. The one in the video was a gen 1 and I was fortunate not to have had experienced ejector/extractor related failures in the 3K or so rounds. I've since swapped to a gen 2 to run their Colt based lower and one has been running strong. I'm only about 2K rounds in but I know the ejector components were upped to the 40 cal spring. That being said I've read that keeping the system running at higher cyclic rate is probably ideal for the wear and tear on the ejector, so I've swapped the A5 buffer system back to a carbine tube, buffer, and spring shown in this video.
@@bunnyoperator That's good to hear. Thanks for the info. Last question since you brought up the A5 system which I believe is basically identical to the mk2 buffers. How many rounds did you have through the A5 before you made the swap back to carbine? I'm okay if it wears out springs faster as long as I'm still getting at least 2k through the gun. The cost of a bolt tune up kit isn't much on 2k plus rounds.
@hardlylivin6602 Correct. The BCM MK2 is a variation design of the A5 and interchangeable. The designer for the A5 went to BCM basically. I didn't put that many rounds through the A5 buffers. I ran the VLTOR spring (basically milspec rifle spring) with A5H2, A5H1, A5H0. Probably 200+ rounds each to compare impulses, ejection pattern and dot behavior unsuppressed. You can find the YT Short video clip on my channel. A5H2 had the most consistent ejection pattern but A5H1 had the least dot movement. A5H0 just felt like a slightly better H2. I went back to Carbine config to re-test H1 and Carbine buffers basically. Carbine seems to be the most reliable with ammo variations, so I'll stick with that for now despite more dot movement.
@@bunnyoperator Thanks for laying that out. I haven't begun tuning the gun yet but you just gave me a pretty good head start. I struggle to see though how the lighter a5h1 buffers produce a more controllable recoil impulse over the heavier options. I always thought slowing down the bolt lowered recoil. Regardless... I'll be trying out more buffers later to get it dialed in where I want it. But this gives me a better idea of where to start. So thanks again.
@hardlylivin6602 It's a balance thing as weight shifts around. Over-buffering can cause issues too.

I have an almost identical build; 14.5 mid fsb under c4 mlok with A5 receiver extension, mines a flat top upper but I dig the aesthetic and functionality(ability to still use irons) of the carry handle. Centurion is top notch and slept on. I mean who else is making KAC style bolts and barrels? Very smooth shooting setup. I liken mine to an old typewriter. Push the button hear a noise, feel a vibration and see the mark it makes on "paper"
What is the difference between a dust cover and an fcd dust cover?
Half an inch when talking 2.93" is a nice change percent wise.
Utilize, Utilize, Utilize... find a thesaurus jk. Love the rifle. My 14.5" mid under a c4 mlok is so sweet. Centurion gets slept on, and I like that, makes feel like I'm in the know lol
Awesome video. I came here to share my disdain for C&H optics. I've never even bought one and I'm glad because clearly they're shyte.
Keep spreading the good word until the leadership fixes their antics.
On paper it says the small should be an inch and a quarter narrower then a 10-in plate and it looks nowhere near that much narrower.
Are you perhaps looking at SAPI sizes?
@@bunnyoperator yeah, when you compared that small sapi plate to the large it really seemed like it was maybe only a quarter inch narrower. When it says on hesco's sizing chart it's supposed to be inch and a quarter narrower. (Wanting to buy a pair just wanting to make sure I buy the right ones) thanks for reply
@@calvins4084 The plates I showed here are the shooter and swimmer cuts for the L210 and M210 respectively. If you intend to get SAPI then those would look much different due to the lack of cut for the shoulder pockets. SAPI plates tend to be a smidge larger than the shooter and swimmer cuts in general, so the plates shown here shouldn't be used as a visual comparison.
Ya…don’t be a douche bag!

Have you experienced any failure to extract with this set up? Im running same barrel, a5 buffer but a lantac bcg and have been having failure to extract issues like its just not cycling. Curious if you have experienced any of that.
@@bradsmalt3852 None. Describe what exactly is happening.
@@bunnyoperator it fired but didn't extract or double feed. So I was assuming buffer weight. I was using crap ammo that I had laying around from factory range pickups so they could very possibly be the issue as well but all fired just no extraction.
@@bradsmalt3852 Could be the ammo or a combination. Double feed from failure to extract is an indication of short stroking from too little gas or too heavy buffer setup for current gas. Try new, factory standard pressure ammo to see what happens. Your gas system should seal up any small leaks after a few hundred rounds too. If you continue to experience issues you can try a lighter buffer. Double check your gas system while you're at it. It can also be your BCG being not gas efficient or spec issues. Lantac isn't on the list of well-known solid shops. I also don't recommend that you shoot range pick up/unverified ammo. Shit happens and sometimes really bad things happen.
@@bunnyoperator I'm comfortable with the range pickup i use because they come from a specific range and they are all factory but I rarely use them still because the potential for boom. I like the Lantac design but currently on a trial so no real experience with their bcg prior to this, I havent heard of any significant failures regarding lantac though so if you have specific experience id like to hear what yours was/is/ or has been. Seemed like a short stroke because there weren't any double feeds. Thanks for the feedback, I just put this thing together hoping it would run regardless but I may have to alter some things after all. I do have some other bcg's to try as well. Thanks
@@bradsmalt3852 Until you figure out what's going on stick to new ammo to eliminate a variable. Avoid Winchester white box and steel cased also. Lantac BCGs are known to be inconsistent in specs and may not be as gas efficient. That in itself isn't necessarily an issue but when combined with other factors such as lower gas situations via ammo or temperature changes it can affect function. Also if bought the nickel boron variant you're paying a lot for little performance gain and sometimes less performance. Lube needs to stay in critical areas and won't on those let alone nickel boron will chip eventually. Regardless, you have it, so run it. Go through your checking process. Check your gas components to ensure everything is aligned and secured. Run new ammo. If it works you're good. If not swap the buffer out. A5H2 is equivalent to H3 in weight so you can try A5H0 which is equivalent to H1. I'm assuming you're shooting unsuppressed. If that doesn't work then it could be your BCG so swap that out. Anything beyond this requires more in depth checks. You could also ditch the A5 for a normal H1 carbine buffer setup. Every rifle should run with that.
Is that based on a stoner?
@@transporter13956 Yes, the AR-180.

Now, compare these two to my battlewerx slide cut for eps carry mrs (red) on g19 slide. The optic fits as tight, if not tighter than your example, but directly mounted to slide so low, the oem sights are cowitnesses.
@@jasongaudreau2075 Not part of the comparison but since you've brought it up milled for direct mount ideally should have the optic sent with the slide to fit the specific optic to the slide. Optics have tolerance variances that need to be accommodated, so your anecdote reflects your sample but doesn't reflect all of it although Jagerwerks is a top quality shop and one of my go-to shops.

Yes, it was designed that way and assuming you're using compatible barrel length and muzzle device.
@@bunnyoperator I'm sold
@@timbogymbro66 Enjoy it, friend.
What sight are you using?

Is getting your edc carry stippled worth it?
@@jbandz7792 If you find that you want the traction or require an ergonomic adjustment then it's a solid option but only you can determine if the cost is worth it.
Is there a difference in dot clarity or sharpness between t2 and comp m5? I find the T2 dot to starburst…holosun dots are sharper to my eyes. I’ve heard comp m5 may use a newer LED but don’t want to drop another $1k to find out it’s identical to t2
That's up to your eyes, friend. T2 is a clean starburst to my eyes and so is the M5 but the T2 is capable of getting 1 step brighter. Some Holosuns don't work as well for me and they don't get nearly as bright as the T2 or M5. That being said, I'd favor the T2 over the M5 in general.
@@bunnyoperator that helps, thank you. All eyes are different for sure but I was curious if there was a generally clearer dot for comp 5s vs T2 and it seems they’re similar. I’ve got the T2 and will stick with it
@@watchin-stoof988 Same same for glass and astigmatism for me although the M5 has a little more tunnel effect to me.
