On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Yea but the F-16 doesn't have a usb port to charge your phone and the number of cup holders is, frankly, unAmerican.
My man's in the Flanker kept waiting instead of firing his missile when the angles were clearly in his favor.
F-16 pilot here. We actually beat F-35's all day in a WVR dogfight. Given they would kill us BVR, but the viper wins against nearly every fighter in the world in closer quarters.
I love the way the commentary cuts out when you bite it. Very effective.
How about a dogfight between an Apache and a Ka-50 in an urban environment with high-rise buildings? Vikhrs vs Hellfires.

I like how the fight is never just about the airplane and it weapons, but also how its pilots fly them.. also, that slow mo replay that zoomed in on the Flanker's pilot in the final round felt intimidating, love that detail!

That kill in round 5 seemed suspect. That missile looked like it missed to me.
Missiles dont need to hit the target directly
Continuous rod warhead. There have been cases where a missile shot down an aircraft while missing by a 100 feet ontop of the aircraft

The F-16 VISTA is analogous to the F-15 MTD/STOL you featured. I don't know if it exists in DCS, but how interesting it would be to see the viper with greatly enhanced one circle capabilities...

Hey, I've been watching your videos for about a year in a half, and I've absolutely loved your videos. You've inspired me to play and learn DCS, so I've been on it since January. I'm wondering, what kind of head tracking do you use?
Idk Which one he uses, but apparently you don't need any headtracker at all if you use your webcam. There is a UA-cam video on it
Unless he's changed it since his last system tour video, he uses TrackIR 5.

the last fox 2 looked like it hit behind you but still killed you, hows the blast radius of an archer that big?
The amount of sharpnels that manage to hit the entire aircraft and the pilot
continuous rod warhead, it doesn't use the blast as the main damage dealer, it uses the shrapnels to do all the damage. There's been a few cases with bigger missiles with similar type of warheads that shot down an aircraft while missing by 100 feet.
I’ve seen the AIM-9X in DCS do things even crazier than that lol so who knows if it’s a bug

Pilot skill matters most, and they both have similar thrust proformance, with the slight edge being the flanker

You've done a few F-16 vs Flanker videos now and it's always been a serious challenge. I'm really interested in how much we can squeeze out of the Falcon since it's my favorite plane, and something I think you could go in depth on that I don't think you have is the merge. It seems like your decision and positioning at the merge can be a huge part of how the fight goes against a "superior" aircraft. If you manage to put yourself in a spot where you don't have to maneuver to avoid the first missile, it can give you breathing room to fight the way you want to fight.
They call it a Viper now. I always think of as a Falcon too. Guess we're old.
@@jamesburrell677 Falcons are my favorite bird and it's appropriate if you ask me. Falcons are smaller than eagles, but fast and deadly in their own way.

A relevant consideration will be the armament (Python-4 or Python-5) with Helmet will improve F-16 chances even more
The main thing here is the pilot, not the plane.
As we can see, even from the old F-16 you can squeeze all the juice out and defeat even the Su-35, which is now the best fourth-generation fighter.

Seems strange that he said the F-16 is great at 2 circle but not so much at 1 circle. I thought the F-16s whole deal is that it's extremely maneuverable (better for 1 circle) but is single engine and has lower thrust (better for 2 circle).
the f16 is indeed a 2 circle fighter, it's actually got HIGH thrust. It excels in 2 circle (rate fights) but is capable of a few good turns in the 1 circle (which is a radius fight).
