Some of the propel circuits are a closed loop. Had a paver fail a propel pump that looks very much like the one on your combine. Debri from pump failure took out the motor and customer ran until unit would not move.
Back in the "good ol' days" in the Texas Panhandle we ran JD 95's with 20' headers. When we finished one field we just lifted the headers and ran down the road. Paved "Farm to Market" roads were wide enough we could pull over and run with one tire in the shoulder and a car could pass. Didn't even have to slow down.
That's unfortunate with the combine. I know my area is 90% green with alot of guys running case combines and a few gleaners. New gleaners can be purchased with a comprehensive 2 year full warranty and also can be extended to 3 or 4 years. By far the best warranty plan on a combine. Hopefully you can get some demos of different brands for the future!!
I'd love to get my hands on a Lexion! The 2 year warranty would be big. Given Deere's profit margin, they can afford to compete in that department, but they probably don't feel the need to. It is good to have competition in the industry.
That stolen valor line was great, and I had to slowdown to .25 playback speed to see that small branch hit the camera. Nice touch with the "who put that there?" hidden easter egg text. It's those small things that makes you a great youtuber.
Great video! Lots of variety. Beautiful baby and Katy sighting!! Yea!! Rest up...780 repaired.....corn getting ready. Grain cart operator going to be put to the test. Locking forward to more. Who is the guy you mentioned. What is his channel
Grant Hilbert. He is known for his farming simulator channel, The Squad, but he has started farming in real life due to his other successes. As someone who has been around this stuff my whole life, it is fascinating to watch someone's first years in farming.
I no u r waiting but when u get the S790 back u guys r going to b busy as bees for sure then I am glad they got it repaired an hopefully everything will b ok there test run keep the videos coming an Go John Deere Green
I wonder what the difference In wear on a large deeidel motor and engine system. Like that. Is it better to turn it on and off again or is it better long term to not continuously heat cycle components
Pretty unfortunate about the 780. Seems like you all are pretty good customers of JD, and like you said also the local dealer when you mentioned their future service truck…they need to get you all a loaner. Way to many combines sitting around to not get one for someone who just bought a new one and a big tillage horse. Keep grinding
Yes the 780 was bad luck. To be fair, there aren't any combines sitting around. I have driven by multiple John Deere dealerships and didn't see many. It is just the curse of this season!
I'll tell you what I would hop in my truck and head to a case ih dealer it would make your head spin so fast and I would be picking beans with a new red combine one that works always works
While standing at your Deere dealer, call the nearest Case IH dealer and inquire about renting/leasing a combine. That may be just the motivation to get your combine repaired or an acceptable loaner.
Probably an engineering flaw on the 780, blame Ron. Just kidding Ron's a good guy I'm sure it wasn't his falt. LOL. As I remember it always seemed like more brake downs during harvest then any other time and good fall weather doesn't last long. All the luck to you guys.
As soon as your dealer saw what the problem was in your field there should have been a loaner on the way and if no loaner, deere should pay the rent for a different machine.
What if there is not another machine to get? Stuff happens especially when people are struggling to get anything right now. My regular job is a car dealership for non us cars and we have gotten about 10 Volkswagens in the last month. Everyone is struggling with stuff right now.
@@chadjustice8560 If i buy a machine that is $700 000 dollars (without a header) and it breaks down,it has warrenty for one full year and if there is no replacement machine JOHN DEERE should should pay for the replacement.A combine is is about 10 times the price of a fairly high priced car.All the big AG companies that build farm machines have been screwing us for the last 20 years with their outrageous prices, and also put a certain markup on each machine if something like this happens so that they are covered on their end and can give you a machine if your breaks down while still on warrenty.
Although I completely agree, there aren't any combines sitting around. This was predicted before harvest even started... no loaners or unsold combines to run if something goes down.
Its called Dictatorship. I worked for a car dealership that sold all G M vehicle's and I was the warranty administrator so I know what you are talking about. I farmed when I got home in the evening. I had a farrowing hog operation cleaned the farrowing house in the morning and in the evening
So the largest ag manufacturer in the world been building tractors for decades everyone has been trying to catch up to but yet one with a problem and it's junk? Lol how about every piece of case equipment has electric problems no matter how new or how many hours or what kind it is? Are they junk? How about the agco lack of dealer support anywhere which could put you down for weeks? Nah go easy with the green is junk lol
You do realize it's on the dealer and not on Deere to provide the loaner? Also no one has been able to build anything because if you haven't noticed shipping containers are very sparse right now but nah just blame Deere for? The green hate from some of you is hilarious.
@@chadjustice8560 Reality hard for you to handle? AGCO has plenty of parts for Gleaner. CNH has plenty of parts for the the red and yellow machines. Green hate? Nah. Difference is those machines are back in the fields doing work. This one isn't.
There isn't a combine to be found anywhere, so how can they loan us one? It is an unfortunate side effect of the current supply chain. If a brand is sitting on new combines right now, that tells you all that you need to know about their products...
I'm glad your Combine is apparently fixed, and while you're thanking your Dealer, as you well should, you should also thank John Deere, who located the parts, and made it possible for your Dealer to go retrieve them, while Deere picks up the tab. As you know a new Combine is a technological marvel, and that's all wonderful, but all of that technology and marvel brings with it a certain amount of inherent risk vs reward, and that's a fine line for manufacturers to walk, and I feel sure that Deere did not manufacture that motor. "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌👍⛟
We don’t owe Deere any thanks, in my opinion. The $500,000+ was thanks enough. That’s the same reason that I don’t believe that people should “thank a farmer.” They made enough money on that machine to compensate for all of their troubles multiplied by 20. If Deere didn’t provide a warranty against obvious factory flaws, we would buy a different brand. The dealership has much less financial incentive other than supporting their customers. I appreciate your opinion, though.
Your posture of subservience to JD sounds like incoherent religious brand fanaticism! It`s obvious the flagrant obligation involved in blatant warranty issues...
Some of the propel circuits are a closed loop. Had a paver fail a propel pump that looks very much like the one on your combine. Debri from pump failure took out the motor and customer ran until unit would not move.
That sounds like a good guess!
Yes I worked very hard thank you for your respect
It's my pleasure!
Wasn't expecting to see Grant's Farming Adventures on here lol... I got a kick out of that lol!
I appreciate the novelty of your channel. It is great to see the excitement and experiences of a new(ish) farmer! Thanks for watching my videos!!
I like how you stay positive out there even with the different problems or the boredom. Glad they got the 780 put back together for you!
The alternative is grim. I do my best to keep everything uplifting here!
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always Andy!!!
Thanks for tuning in, Marshall!

Hello from Canada great videos thanks for sharing
Get a laugh at your singing. What an adorable baby boy. Good luck with the 780, hope all runs well.
My singing has always been one of my strong suites!
That moment when you run out of videos to watch and hit refresh and Andy drops a new video you know your day just got better.
Love to hear that! Thanks for watching
Looking forward to seeing the S 780 combine back in operation.
It's return is near!
Na, some kind of pelican.😒😂😂 I was not expecting you to say that!
I was disappointed!

You must've been paying close attention the first time, because that segment was such a small amount of time and space. Nice eyes!
Very nice videos thank you
Thanks for watching!!
Oh my Lord that baby is adorable! Also I just started watching Grant myself last week lol
He is a cute little one. I like Grant's lack of experience in farming. I think it makes his content very novel versus the rest of us lifelong farmers.

Ouch!!! Oh that’s better.
🤣🤣
Another really good video, is the baby yours? I am enjoying your content more and more, you have made it to my top 3.
Yes that is my son, Lennon. I am happy to be in your top 3. Thanks for watching!
JD expanded their warranty to be closer to Fendt. They better hurry up and copy them on the loaner combine, when broke down.
They normally do it, but it isn't a written obligation. All of the extra combines were sold or loaned out already.
I need a lesson on backing that head cart!
Same!!😂
It is a work in progress 😂
I wonder what the difference In wear on a large deeidel motor and engine system. Like that. Is it better to turn it on and off again or is it better long term to not continuously heat cycle components
I have heard different opinions. Everything definitely needs to cool off adequately before shutting it down. It is so difficult to really know!

"I just sit here and ignore them. At least I have the information" Priceless
As a grain cart operator, it is my job to underwhelm the combine drivers!
Great video how wide are the Tyres on the rear of the combine
The width from outside to outside is probably 10 foot if I had to guess.
"stolen valor" that gave me one of those deep belly chuckle/giggles
They shouldn't be allowed to wear those colors!
I'll tell you what I would hop in my truck and head to a case ih dealer it would make your head spin so fast and I would be picking beans with a new red combine one that works always works
Everything has its issues. I’m looking at a poor guy with 2 broken new Holland’s right now
If case has a combine to give you right now, that tells you all that you need to know about their equipment. Deere has sold literally everything!
@@aTrippyFarmer AND they are going on strike!

If not that, just call a competitive Deere dealership!
Is there a chance of a TrippyFarmer musical CD in the future? No sarcasm here!!!
Coming to a radio shack near you!
I think when u round up tenths you would arrive at 82 not ninety ?? Am I wrong ?
Farmer math. It’s for bragging rights at the cafe. Also the highest number you see go across the yield monitor is the field average.
I may have not spoken clearly, but I meant the "tens" spot. That was completely a joke about skewing your yield data to look good!

I do agree... breakdowns always seem to happen at the worst times. It is never right before a long rain delay...
Get a ford with the key pad on the door. I havent touched my key fob since the day I bought the truck.
I have always envied you Ford owners for that feature!!
What is the malfunction of the 780? Neighbor has a 770 with no hydraulic …… might turn out to be a COMMON problem!
Update- listened to rest of video - good luck getting it back.
Bad hydrostatic pump and/or hydrostatic motor. I think we will get it back!

Everyone broadcasts their problems to the world nowadays, which doesn't help. John Deere worked harder on that combine than it appears from my videos.
