When the crop is ready to be harvested and you have good weather, you go. If it’s Sunday, it’s Sunday. I have spent quite a few Sunday’s in the field in various roles.
My daughter got married a couple of weeks ago and was constantly checking the weather, l told her not to worry about it because it’s not like we were going to cut hay to bale. Keep them coming!
We always have more help Sunday, our part time guy can help all day Saturday and Sunday helps a lot. Usually going by 9 and done by by 5 or 6 on corn. Beans start around 11 and go till 5 or 6
I have heard: cutting wheat/oats/soybeans, picking/cutting/shelling corn, combining them ... but I think the only statement that is true no matter what you use or how you bring in your corn, soybeans & grain is harvesting them.
Spaeth Welding in my book is South Central IL, Metro East STL Area’s BEST Welding Outfit in my book. Hell IL State Troopers Shut Down Interstate 64 for Him to Weld a Heavy Haul Trailer that Broke in Half. They also Welded on some Older DMI 730B Shear Bolt Shanks back on a Ripper that came off on a Newly Picked Up Farm that had been Only Disked for 20+ Years. Old Rippers that go over 6,000 Acres a Year Each, (12,000 for the Pair of Rippers we Ran) and Heavy Compacted Ground that hadn’t been Deep Ripped for 20+ Years don’t mix. Spaeth had to come out and Weld 2 Shanks back on two days in a row, which was Good because the 3rd Day we ripped up a Old Abandoned Oil Well Pipe Sections. It was One of Those Weeks, I can Laugh about it now 10 Years Later though!
Andy thanks for this! Having a lousy Monday up here in Alberta and then watch your video and can't stop laughing. I'm still trying to figure out how your dad doesn't slap you upside the head. My favorite is when you get in the 780 and run it wide open, the way it was supposedly designed to be used, and then the boss hops in, hahaha. Keep the videos coming and stay safe.
I’ve never seen picking corn with a combine. I’ve shelled a few acres of corn in a combine in my 66 years on earth but, never picked any unless I was running a corn 🌽 picker with a tractor pulling it .
From here on out. Any equipment you buy must have 2 replacement bearing for every bearing on that piece of equipment before you take ownership of said equipment. Future bearing problems solved. Happy Harvest...
I know of one farmer for religious reasons they will not work on Sunday. For others I think if push comes to shove a lot of farmers would work Sunday if necessary, especially if a lot of rain in expected on a Monday.
that sucks having to take the draper inn and then have delays. We always replace our draper belts it's not that difficult. Sometimes it's just easier though.
Tippy my man.. when ya type in 2 hours later, there is this video/ audio that says that -that you can add that would be funnier than hell.. just saying.. see if ya can find it ... would be a good clip to add to your videos.. I copied it below in a seperate post for you.👍😎🤙lol

Same here!
The way your dad handles a sledge hammer one-handed, I wouldn't want to arm wrestle him!
He is impressive and dangerous at the same time!
Always try to take the Sunday off, so usually start on Monday!
Love that!

Haha it was so kind of you not to cut any hay. We do not have any hay, but even I know that is a bad omen!
My father also grinds his face the exact same way. He is a old fashion worker.
My dad sure is a workhorse. We both must have good role models!
We send it, seems like we always start on on Saturday or Sunday
Same here!!

Agreed. A lot more extra help on the weekend!
Your Dad and his infamous red shirts. Bwahahah. Love it, cracks me up
He has been wearing those for as long as I have been alive 🤣
Last week was a very dreary overcast week in Central Illinois! We got about an 1.5 in. of rain in Peoria.
We were on a roll with harvest and great weather, and then a week of dreary weather ruined it all.
Yes that is no joke. It has been wet!
I agree with you on the weather men and their forecasting
It's true!
Nice video and machines. Greets Stefan
Thank you very much!
lots of new toys in that barn
Just a few...
It depends on concessions that have to be offered after giving Sunday off to the crew.
That is true. We don't get anything special other than finishing earlier in the year.
your Dad is somewhat like mine was. Mine wore a green shirt everyday, yours goes with red.
He always wears a red shirt and he works very hard!
@@aTrippyFarmer mine did too! Hardcore old school!
Thank you for your videos they are the best
Glad you like them!

Those good old oil well pipes.... gotta love em!
@@aTrippyFarmer This much I can say, when those Small Welding Outfits are done, it usually ends up BETTER than when it left the Factory!
"There ain't no rest for the wicked" is true, but what is sad is "there is no wicked for the rested"!!! Dabnabbit
Enjoying your harvest vids!
Glad you like them!
Start on Sunday. When the crop is ready…and the weather is cooperating, get it.
True... you only have a limited window!

Some days I think he is pretty close to giving me a good knock! He kicks me out of the combine pretty quick haha
So good!
🙌🙌🙌

That is awesome!
People just never get the idea, Preventive Maintenance!
It does help, but it isn't perfect.
do you have to decide when to quite shaving? like where or when the beard ends and the chest fuzz begins? asking for a friend.
I am hairless like a model!

It is worth your time to stock replacements for every reasonably-priced replacement part.

I know a few operations that do not work for religious reasons as well. Everyone has different reasons for their decisions!
that sucks having to take the draper inn and then have delays. We always replace our draper belts it's not that difficult. Sometimes it's just easier though.
I think we should do it ourselves, but the boss doesn't want to mess with it.
Time to try a different colour
I would!
Farm on Sunday, fix on Monday
That's exactly what they say!!!
7 mph 👀 👀 👀
Absolutely flying!
Grandpa said chopp corn or pick corn or combine beans on Sunday break Dow n on Monday that true only suppose milk cows feed amminals that all
Having a good welder on speed dial will save you butt time and time again
That's an understatement!
@@aTrippyFarmer I say that because I run a welding shop as well😄
Start on a friday is always the deal for us, instead of waiting on monday. Lol
Whatever works!!
Have farmers ever tried spraying a perimeter of a field with pesticides and herbicides?
I am not sure what you mean? We spray the outside row to kill grass beyond what our normal herbicide program can do.
@@aTrippyFarmer sorry for the confusion. Has anyone tried running pesticides and herbicirds in a border around the field, and not spray the interior?
Auger Shop 😂🤣😜
I couldn't think of a better name 🤣
I harvested Sundays after church
Perfect 👍
Does your dad just have red Shirts? :D
Yes my dad has what seems like a TV wardrobe. Red shirts every day!
i noticed you said you play video games, what games do you play?
Call of Duty mostly!
We would wait till the Monday, but once going we work 7 days a week
I respect that!
Wait till Monday, no reason to push your luck
👍
I was always told the weather man and parts man are the only people who can always be wrong and still have a job
🤣🤣🤣

Hey
Hey there 🤝
Karma can be unforgivable some times
Comes at you fast!
If we could cut, we cut, period.
That's what we do!
start on Monday... Never on Friday...Start a job on Friday you will never finish...
The beer catches up to you quick on fridays!
👍👍
🙌
why don't you learn how to weld and fabricate then you can save money, a lot of farmers do just that, and it works good
I agree with you. It is hard to be as proficient as a trained professional, though!
This early in the season you should never work on Sunday. Its so selfish to keep yourselves away from God and your families.
You can work and allow time for both, but I do respect that approach!
Two days of the week you do NOT start planting or harvesting on. Fridays, and Sundays. Bad juju will come your way!
That is what some people say!
