I absolutely LOVE Blue Apron! I'm single so I stretch the 3 meal plan to 6. 6 delicious meals that includes nearly every single thing you need for the recipe right down to butter (you do need to buy your own olive oil and any additional sides you'd like to add). In the 3 weeks that I have been ordering from Blue Apron it seems like each recipe I cook tastes better than the last one. I was a fast food junkie and I did the math and I was spending over $300 a month between fast food so this program is a way better option for me. I still have more than enough money to go to the grocery store and buy alternative food if I don't feel like cooking. I'm not a big breakfast person but I have my lunch and dinner for most of the work week and you can't beat the top notch ingredients for only $60 bucks a week. The convenience of not having to go to the grocery store alone is worth the price. If I had to look for all of the ingredients myself; as impatient as I am, I would pull my hair out and I would not be able to afford 6 meals with all of the ingredients included for that price. If you can afford $60 a week definitely try it.
Where is Chef Kelvin's channel? He is so fun to watch! Both recipes looked very good and I like that he recognized the butcher that delivered the steak.
this is a waste of money. 3meals for 2people is $90 that doesn't even include enough food for leftovers. $90 can last me a week and a half-2 week shopping at my grocery store.
prissybell16 I think that the point of these. The portions are right. Problem with leftovers is that you can easily forget about them and can easily toss away.
Whitney Pyant idk how you can forget about leftovers. But if you wanted to only buy portions from your grocery store you would still come out way cheaper.
I imagine they based their stuff on what the average family size is in the U.S. 5 people seems a little high to be the average family size in all the U.S.
I think one of the best things about the meal kits is that you can tweak them if you want. Most of the recipes I make I have to tweak in some way. Its nice to see how a professional would make these kits.
I get green chef keto and I love it. The ingredients are proportioned for me and it really got me hooked on the keto lifestyle. While it's true you don't do meal kits to save money I love how you get so many ideas that you wouldn't have thought of yourself. Specifically, with keto people complain it's restrictive but thanks to meal kits I see that it's not.
I'm Blue Apron. Like it a lot. It forces/encourages me to use some ingredients that are new to me. BA is a cooking class, I learn new things, and a delicious meal for two (there is always leftovers) when we are done. I've duplicated and shopped for the ingredients on my own, successfully. Customer service has been top notch. Even after many years of cooking, it's nice to be reminded and coached into seeing how easy it is to do most tasks.
$60 for 3 meals for two people for a week is not as bad as some are saying. There is no waste, I'm learning to enjoy cooking again, we're eating different and interesting foods and spices, the seafood and meats are incredible from Blue Apron, meal planning is already done, no shopping necessary, That's why we like it. We don't use it every week but enjoy the convience and good food during the weeks when we're short on time to shop and cook.
Carol Factor 60 bucks a day is insane. I can get enough food for a week for 2 eating a healthy diet and making all my own foods (while spending under an hour of cooking per day) for 50 bucks.
Shadowpieman no you idiot, it's 60 dollars a day if you include breakfast. 10 dollars a meal, 2 people to feed, 3 meals per person, 60 total dollars a day. Seems like you need to use your head a little more.
I have been a customer of Blue Apron since 12/2015. I've gotten lots of my friends to sign up, and I've never cancelled my service since I joined. Sadly, I've finally had it with the service. I've had COUNTLESS boxes not show up on my delivery date. One would think that this would be a problem with my zip code, or my post office, or some other issue with my location. However, my friends in the same zip code have received their boxes EVERY SINGLE time. So, I’m the lone unlucky one in my zip code. I get all of my other boxes and deliveries from Amazon.com and all of the other places I order from (I’m a big online shopper). Every time my box doesn’t show up, I’ve got excuses that don’t end up making any sense because of the fact that others in my town are receiving their boxes just fine. I get the box credited to me every single time, and it’s as if Blue Apron feels that they are doing me a huge favor when I get my refund. It’s actually not a big deal to receive a refund on something I never received. One time, after I was frustrated and upset for not receiving my box, and had to ask for an additional discount, I received two more boxes for free. That was a nice gesture, but I’d rather just have my boxes show up on time. Blue Apron is meant for convenience, so when it doesn’t show up - and given that Blue Apron’s ONLY JOB is to send me a box every week - I have to totally change my schedule around to accommodate for the lack of service. Blue Apron constantly blames their shippers, but TWO DIFFERENT shipping companies have been in charge of the deliveries and they are still getting screwed up. And, in the 9 years that I’ve lived here, I have never ONCE not gotten a box or a shipment. Given the details of my home’s history of receiving every single box I’ve ever ordered, it’s clear that Blue Apron is to blame. So, this week, I got an email saying my box was on its way, and, in usual fashion, I get an email from the Supervisor who is supposed to be managing my shipments every week, saying that a storm is to blame for this week’s box not showing up. SERIOUSLY?! Every other friend of mine got their BA box and I received every single other thing I ordered this and last week. Instead of trying to permanently fix this issue, I get the runaround every single time. Perhaps if I take my concerns to social media, I will finally get a resolution to this ongoing and extremely frustrating issue.
I am so pleased to see a chef wearing gloves, there to many in the kitchen touching everything with their bare hands and even worse wearing jewelry and acting like it's o.k.
Just a waste of packaging. .. no thanks. Go get the stuff yourself if you can. If you can't this is a great idea. If your able but don't want to, you're the problem with this country.
I thought it was a great idea using a professional. Easier to watch from start to finish. I like this guy. The only thing that this helped me with is the helping decide which is better financially. Otherwise, I'm not sure which one had the better food.
Blue Apron, I tried going on to your web page to order, but my husband (who is working with EMMIS MISCOMMUNICATIONS) has my bank card and I could not complete the order. Please ask Emmis to inform my husband I cannot order until my card is returned to me. Thank you. Polly Hunt
Waaaay over priced for what you get. I can shop online AND get it delivered for free and make it for four people for a week for only a fraction of what these services charge.
what I really don't like about blue Apron is that they prepackage every single thing. no need for one head of Brokkoli or a head of garlic to be wrapped in plastic individually
Personally, I don't mind if they don't package broccoli or garlic etc., but a lot of people complain when they actually don't package the items individually.
Blue apron sends the cheapest food possible. Lots of collard greens and sweet potatoes. ..the cheapest shit you can buy. Will try other. If you cook at all....you will see.
have yr own raw food to cook even save more time than this. it is even cheaper if u go to the restaurant where p.p cook for u just about 12$/meal. Reading and going throught all of the processes for a meal that cost u more, i mean ...come on .....
He's such a cool bloke.
thanks for teaching me a new word: bloke (man/fellow/gentleman) british
Great video. It's cool to see a pro test out these and give their opinion. I've only seen regular people review them.
fall22123 yeah it's because this was made for people who can't cook and people who don't have the time

Ms.gshunw it ruins the point of cooking, at that point just go to the fucking restaurant.
Where is Chef Kelvin's channel? He is so fun to watch!
Both recipes looked very good and I like that he recognized the butcher that delivered the steak.
You and I must think alike ...
He's so personable, could definitely have his own show. I also loved his techniques and the fact that he uses gloves!

Picture yourself as a single yuppie who doesn't have time to go grocery shopping. That is who this is for.
Trove of terror go look at the options. the meat options are more expensive
prissybell16 All that packaging is bad for the environment. So much waste.
5:36 "I can change if you had a bad day"
that kind of attitude and kindness goes a long way 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 ❤️
Most of these kind of boxes are for 2 adults or family size which is somehow only 4 people. We are a family of 5.
I imagine they based their stuff on what the average family size is in the U.S. 5 people seems a little high to be the average family size in all the U.S.
I love how chefs cook food. The way they cut, stir, food the meat in the stove, season, it's just "different" from a normal person.
I was interested but a family of 4 is $10 per person per meal!
I think one of the best things about the meal kits is that you can tweak them if you want. Most of the recipes I make I have to tweak in some way. Its nice to see how a professional would make these kits.

I'm not cool It's 60 for a week.... Christ Almighty use your head.
Shadowpieman no you idiot, it's 60 dollars a day if you include breakfast. 10 dollars a meal, 2 people to feed, 3 meals per person, 60 total dollars a day. Seems like you need to use your head a little more.
I'm not cool You are so oblivious to your own stupidity that it's actually more sad than anything else.
this was exactly what I was looking for! a real chef making blue apron. Pretty neat I enjoyed your review!
it is 3 years on and he's the only pro chef i could find doing this as well

Just look at all that waste created by the packing and shipping, etc.... Are people really that lazy to go shopping?
that bothers me as well
fd11fd33fd99 it's not about being too lazy to go shopping, the purpose of these is to learn new recipes using the right portions.
Oh Nigga please, you think mankind came out of the caves carrying these things with us to teach us how to cook?
fd11fd33fd99 well the food they send you is in exact portions so you don't waste money
No I think it creates less food waste than buying out of proportion ingredients on your own. BTW you can send all of them back for recycling.
I would have thought this executive chef could pronounce riddichio correctly lol shrug
We are a family of 5 and LOVE Blue Apron. My teenager can even make a perfect family meal. We have 4 meals come a week. No food is ever wasted.
Heather and Brian Danis 4 meals is all they deliver or you choose it that way?
Heather and Brian Danis is it expensive
seanlamar29 Very expensive
I love blue apron I haven't tried plated before.
I am so pleased to see a chef wearing gloves, there to many in the kitchen touching everything with their bare hands and even worse wearing jewelry and acting like it's o.k.
i tried plated but canceled before the first box. it was just to expensive and they don't have options for 1 serving.
عمل جد رائع الطبخ هو فن ليسة له حدود😍😘
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and letting us see the dishes you created.
This was an EXCELLENT video! Was trying to make a Groupon purchasing decision for Blue Apron, and you just sealed the deal. Thank you
Interesting getting to see how a professional chef prepares these meals and get his opinion. Thanks for this video!
now you just follow this recipe and make everything at home for $70 less
Great review!
Just a waste of packaging. .. no thanks. Go get the stuff yourself if you can. If you can't this is a great idea. If your able but don't want to, you're the problem with this country.
Thank you so much for this video. Was making a final decision to become an influencer for this company. You sealed the deal sir.
I came up with this idea before anybody ever marketed it! But I'm disabled and didn't get it out there quick enough.
that's some nicely trimmed beard
i can do a better job on that
I enjoyed this review.
But he's a chef... I would like to see an mom/dad or single professional make these.
I hate cooking and I use Blue Apron! It's amazing!
Just heat the food until it taste good.
naturalKWEEN Have you tried other UA-cam reviews? There's probably a variety of options.
naturalKWEEN It'll take them ages.
They do, that’s literally what most of the videos are
Funny how the service is called plated, yet you have to plate it yourself.
Thank you. This was very informative. Tonight was my first experience with Blue Apron. It was as described and excellent.
My dad bought blue apron and I cooked the orange glazed chicken,I loved it I think it's worth it
learn to cook from: food wishes. hell there's even places on utube that will teach u how to boil water.

thank you I just finished watching blue apron commercial omg. 💞💞
Every video in death battle. Blue Apron ad
ouh cool u did it thanx
I thought it was a great idea using a professional. Easier to watch from start to finish. I like this guy. The only thing that this helped me with is the helping decide which is better financially. Otherwise, I'm not sure which one had the better food.
i guess its cheaper than to eat out or order food delivery. But buying groceries can probably save more!
Blue Apron, I tried going on to your web page to order, but my husband (who is working with EMMIS MISCOMMUNICATIONS) has my bank card and I could not complete the order. Please ask Emmis to inform my husband I cannot order until my card is returned to me. Thank you. Polly Hunt

Keep doing it like a pro
Waaaay over priced for what you get. I can shop online AND get it delivered for free and make it for four people for a week for only a fraction of what these services charge.
More salt on the steak? Sounds like your problem bro
Can you do one for hello fresh chef
what I really don't like about blue Apron is that they prepackage every single thing. no need for one head of Brokkoli or a head of garlic to be wrapped in plastic individually

LOOOLLL I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT
Blue apron sends the cheapest food possible. Lots of collard greens and sweet potatoes. ..the cheapest shit you can buy.

If you cook at all....you will see.
Plated SUCKS
Dammit! Stop cooking so well. All I end up doing is burning the shit out of my food, or steaming it.
looks raw

I want my next husband to be a chef
have yr own raw food to cook even save more time than this. it is even cheaper if u go to the restaurant where p.p cook for u just about 12$/meal. Reading and going throught all of the processes for a meal that cost u more, i mean ...come on .....
Forbes Life's profile pic reminds me of a certai site. Hmm...
I spend 200 a month for 3 people and a cat
Neither is worth it and if I ate meat I would be really pissed off!
No this is not worth it. Please people just learn how to cook.
yeah but can you really call yourself a proper chef if there are things you are not wiling to serve just because you dont enjoy them?
its much cheaper to go to McDonalds
