Fun fact: if you watch Alita's flashbacks carefully, you'll see that the other cyborgs in her battalion have those same big eyes. They're part of her design.
Also in nature predators with big eyes can see better at night, determine distances, the bigger the eye the more detailed the world around you is basically. Also the war was fought on the moon, so I bet the eyes helped a lot of they fought on the dark side of the moon idk
nope.
Yes
But the thing is, facts and logic don’t matter whatsoever when aesthetics are taken into account. Looks are naturally subjective, but because of that, if the majority of people think something looks bad, it is OBJECTIVELY bad, because looks are SUBJECTIVE.
yeah, that doesn’t make too much sense, but that’s how i see it
No duh
Yup, even gelda's eyes are big (alita's mentor)
@@brimbrim5389 That is the most retarded logic I ever heard.
Besides, I made her look inhuman and that was the best part about it.
Actually after a while you get past the big eyes and then realize how much more expression it gives the characters.
Beside I don't see anyone complaining about Disney's "Disney Eyes".
Since it wa based on a manga could be a a nod to anime
that’s only because disney “big eyes” are in cartoons and people aren’t used to seeing big eyes irl
You are talking about cartoons intended for children, right. Coz Alita was not for children and wasn't a cartoon. Saying that if Robert Rodriguez wanted to follow the source material, all the better for him. Personally I wasted about 2 hours watching this shit and so have no love loss for the plot or the effects or for watching what felt like the story no one needed before the true journey.
I walked into the theater with no expectations and came out amazed.
I found that it’s best to watch movies with no expectations. Movies tend to be better
Same, I really had no idea what this movie was, and then I watched it and it was incredible
Yup its was really good. I'm glad I watched it. Would rather watch this again than captain marvel
It was like twilight.
I have expectation since I know the manga. Still came out satisfied.
The avengers 1 had a 220M budget without marketing cost. Avengers Infinity Part1 costed arround 300-400M. So no, 170M it's a pretty cheap budget for a cgi heavy like this.
yeah the only small budgets that MCU movies have were probably for the first movies, post-The Avengers the MCU production budgets have either been north of $150 million or haven't been released so you KNOW they're stupid expensive
A lot of the Avengers money is used as a salary for the actors though. So it makes no sense that a movie with only one main actress would have that big of a budget
@@youwishyouknewwhoiwas1739 yes and no.... Salary of actors is not that high since they sign contracts.for a certain number of movies..... So most of them get tons of.movies but are not paid individually, what they take the most out of it, it's exposure which has worked wonders for most of them(mixed results but You get the point)
Yeah. I thought that was weird he said that about the Avengers films.
RAY ENG don’t they get paid by the amount of screen time
Why are her eyes bigger than my self esteem
pfffft ME lol
Anime.
BEGONE BOI
OMG SAME!!!! 😂😂😭😭😭👌👌👌👌💯💯💯 *BRUH SOUND EFFECT
@@doom7ish Actually, they're not supposed to look human. It's not bc of the manga
Most people who spent the money to watch this movie fell in love with it. A small minority of people disliked Alita. So, I'd say the cost of the movie was absolutely worth it. There is an agenda to keep this movie from becoming big. When critics use reasons they didn't like Alita, but fail to use the SAME LOGIC in other movies they gave a good score to, you can tell there is some major double-standards going on with the critics. The actual audiences, the ones we should really be listening to, absolutely love this film.
Story, pacing, character, timing. All of these things are what make "good" movies.
All the nitpicking is irritating, because good and bad movies have flaws, but the good movies make it work because of the traits listed above.
For some reason, movie reviewers focus on the nitpicking stuff too often, but this isn't what determines a likable story, and it confuses both why bad movies are bad and good movies are good.
@Rich B
Haven't seen those other two.
Cameron simply has a knack for Sci-Fi and movie making in general.
If he is involved, it usual turns out well.
Something about his sense of pacing and timing just makes it all work.
film was trash
I thought the movie was well made cgi-wise, apart from that though I didn't like it. The characters were hella flat, the plot ok but kinda lacking in pretty much everything, the acting and set passable at best. The world didn't feel very real to me, and there was not one character (not even Alita) that I liked due to them being so one-dimensional. Was all around disappointed in this movie that I had great expectations in
@@kkok9666 That is 100% the complete opposite of my experience.
Who got pissed the moment she took out her heart for that dude. I was like "WTF are you doing".
It was in the manga so they included that into the movie...
@@lexo3411 What I didn't like was that they didn't include all the tubes and cables from the original heart design, but well...pg 13 and all that :P
Yeah. It's supposed to do that I believe since their "love" is supposed to be the naive innocent love that most of us (and eventually Alita) learn to recognize isn't realistic.
edit: because she is like a brand new human mind she needs to go through that like we do when we grow up.
She did say that she's an "All or nothing" type of person
@@FruitBasketyay You give Alita Orange Flavored Valetine Chocolate Hearts. She 1-Ups you by taking her heart out of chest and offering it to you. 😕 uh not necessary thank you. ?
The romance in the movie felt so forced and it made it hella hard to watch- I liked most of the story, but they didn’t really make the audience like him. When he died I was actually... glad? I don’t know, didn’t sit well with me.
this is exactly how I felt when watching the movie. I liked the plot, but the romance was entirely bland.
That’s kinda how it is In The manga though. And Hugo is NOT likable in the manga either (IMO anyways), I’d say the movie did a good job with its source material.
Fia he’s not supposed to be likable, For most of the movie he was using Alita to get to Zalem
Fia Yeah. I don’t wanna knock the actor, but his character was revealed to be a jerk scrapping cyborgs. And I didn’t think he had enough time to turn around.
That was certainly a flaw with the movie, but overall, this was a very well put together, well-paced, and interesting film.
Detroit: become alita
THIS COMMENT DESERVES MORE LIKES
But Robots are already completely excepted tho
Shes too cute
Hi, I’m Connor and I disapprove
the only thing i didn't like is the love story, BUT the rest is great man
It's a junior price for me. Sometimes you want a wholesome romance movie where a cute girl kills people in ways that maybe shouldn't be PG13.
If you can't have a relationship in which you can kill huge, lethal cyborgs left and right you can't call that true love :P
THATS HOW ANIME WORKS
One hundred percent agree with that it’s very entertaining and of course my obsessive personality decided to make me become emotionally invested in this movie and now i’ve seen every interview and review in all of existence
@@MrPoporucha lol
That reminded me of something... For a PG13 film, it had a LOT of swearing! Is there any sort of limit to swearing in PG13 films?
Here's why you don't know what you saw:
I've been reading the manga since 1997, and it began in 1990... my memories of the first series are quite fuzzy, but that's part of the point - notice I said "first series."
There are three, and the third is running now.
The FIRST series is 9 volumes. This is a 29-year-old creation.
So:
-Alita is not a robot. She's a cyborg. How her brain was still active is answered in part at the beginning of the second series, "Last Order." And her eating specifically chocolate should be referenced twice in the series: when Hugo introduces her to it, and years later in Last Order, when she is offered food, but opts only for a chocolate bar to "provide glucose to her brain." the only organic component she has (heh) is her brain, but this is a future in which cyborgs can feel through artificial sensory systems and process biomatter exist.
-Zapan may have been depicted with a Mayan calendar on his back for "cool factor," but a large part of the Alita universe is that religion & mysticism still exist, and influence many of the characters. Even if they are cyborgs living in a post-apocalyptic world, they are still human at their cores. That's a lot of what the book is about... human psychology, metaphysics, mind over matter, anthropology, etc. In Last Order, Toji helps Alita discover her mental/emotional center and transcend herself, as well as...
-Jai Courtney, who appears for 5 seconds. His character, Motorball champion Jashugan is one of Alita's first respected "opponents." Even at points in Last Order, he is fondly remembered by Alita as someone who helped her realize her true potential as a warrior, to find the focus and poise to surmount the obstacles that present themselves before her. And Last Order began running something like 7 years after the original GUNNM (Battle Angel Alita) finished. And that warrior's spirit was first revealed to us...
-When Alita uses the dog's blood as war paint, which we later found out is the traditional marking of a Panzer Kunstler, the URM Berserkers of Mars. You can actually see it on her comrade's face in the movie's flashbacks, as metal. Her name is Gelda, and she's Alita's teacher from over 300 years ago.
-Also, Motorball barely HAS any rules, as you should have seen in its introduction in the movie. That dude that got ripped to shreds with the metal claws (Grind Cutters) got fucking KILLED on live television. It may not have seemed like it from the movie's gorgeous presentation, but "Iron City" (actually the whole town is just called the Scrapyard) is a dingy, fucked-up, dangerous place that only the kingpin Vector, merciless Hunter-Warriors, and twisted murderers like. Everyone else would LOVE to get the fuck right on up out of there, but most have just adapted. Motorball is how you see this general public acceptance. It's a live deathmatch, like a gladiatorial arena, in which losers often die and winners ALWAYS kill.
-The "father trying to recreate his dead daughter" thing isn't completely accurate. While the dynamic between Alita and Dyson (Daisuke) was 97% faithful, first off... Alita (Gally) was named after a CAT he took care of who died shortly before he'd found her body, and even if "Alita" was he and Shiren's dead daughter in the original source material, remember, it came out 29 YEARS ago. Same thing with your Elysium quip. Elysium was NOT a 29-year-old story, and neither was District 9.
There's a lot more that you didn't get because you're basing everything on a movie you expected to be completely original by today's standards, but that just cannot be the case when [mostly] faithfully adapting a property that's three decades old...
...Last one. Daisuke being played by Christoph Waltz was a fine choice for absolutely everything but his physical stature. While Ido was almost completely flesh, the man DID stand somewhere north of 6-foot, probably about 6'6". He could be quite intimidating in the manga, especially when shown in panels as sheer white glasses in the dark (like Kevin/Elijah Wood in Sin City), and he does have a bit of a nasty streak that we discover later.
There's a metric ton to this universe, but assuming they jumped past far too many volumes (4) in a 2-hour movie is kinda hamstringing yourself. Alita's story isn't 9 volumes. it's more than 22 volumes over 29 years, like Berserk is at just 35 volumes in 30 years. The two creators (Yukito Kishiro of Battle Angel and Kentaro Miura of Berserk) have put a STAGGERING amount of time and effort into their works, unlike the weekly suckers that make your popular Shonen-Jump-eventual-Dragon-Ball-wannabes that do 400-1200 episodes and over 600 chapters in 14- 20 years. Alita is totally worth your time.
Sorry for writing a damn book as a comment, but I REALLY hope this helps get more people to check out Alita's world.
New York Times bestseller
Your dedication is appreciated.
I don't know anything about the Manga, but I liked the movie very much. Hope next one comes soon.
@@Virjunior01 thanks I'll give it a read, my gf use to read death note she may like this too.
Sounds like a slightly less impressive version of Deus Ex.
I thought the eyes were dumb in the trailer but it looked pretty good in theaters
They actually reworked it. If you compare the first trailer with the last one, you will notice that the eyes were reduced and cute!!
Toshismike 3000 They actually didn’t make it smaller lol. They just made the iris larger. Robert made a joke about how he was shocked when he first heard James Cameron asking for the eyes to be even larger
yeah it took some getting used to but frankly after i got used to them i thought it was adorable. somehow, the eyes actually fit and accentuated her face, if that makes sense
I do enjoy your LME video's, but I think you were at bit harsh on this movie.

We don’t go to the movies
@@thebestbreth6106 Anime lovers loved it. I did.
Honestly, its awesome. She is not a normal human, so having those eyes can be explained, and it does
It was absolutely dreadful, the CGI was terrible and looked out of place in almost every scene (except the racing part), the plot was all over the place.
It was filled with dumb cliches, like the whole romance that came out of nowhere. Also the whole convincing to replace her body was terrible, that part was going like:
Doc: No
Alita: Please
Doc: No
Alita: Please
Doc: Ok
The romance was the worst for me, but I love the movie in overall. The eyes doesn't bother me as much as Hugo's portrayal. Some people will love it and some will not, so don't just rely on review and make your mind after watching the movie.
bro alita the best movie i have watched this year fr

👁 👁
I went to watch it with my WHOLE family and everyone, old and young, liked it. It was very immersive and action scenes were the best I have seen. With that said, here is my opinion on this video:
1) Not every scifi movie is spy kids. Alita was created before they even were a thing.
2)The budget was to fund the brand new technology they had to work with to make the movie.
3)Alita wasn't trashed for 300 years she is just 300 years old or so.
4)Her brain isn't used to "try to recreate her dead daughter" he just gave her the female body he had at hand which happened to be one he had mode for his daughter.
5) They show in the movie why her eyes are that way, is Martian technology.
6)Salem is not a "Mars city"
7)I agree they didn't explain why she put the dogs blood there well enough in the movie for you to get it easily so I give you that much.
8)In the whole movie they showed you there were basically no rules in the motor-ball games.
9) The movie barely even scratched the tip of the iceberg the plot of the story is about, it literally only covered Alita's introduction as a character.
Dude... most of your misconceptions would have been avoided if you just payed some attention when you watched the movie lol don't look at your phone in movie theaters is the lesson to learn here.
I understand diving into something new can be something most people try to avoid and feel uncomfortable with but don't bash on a good movie because you don't feel like trying to be unbiased or informed. It's not a fair representation of it.
FruitBasketyay I agree with you 100% with you 👍👍👍
I agree with this. I also think that reading the manga would go a long way into understanding this movie better. That it just paying attention to it.
Ahh I always thought her large eyes were due to a own theory of mine I thought of with lack of information and research.
She had a human brain. So I gathered she wasn't alien though she was from Mars and her eyes were a result of evolution from humans colonising Mars in the 2063.
OMG so much this. Loved the movies so much, it gave me goosebumps every time Alita went full battle mode. Came back home and quick read the mange (only 53 chaps BTW), love it even more. Can't wait for the sequence. This movie is 100% why critics can be misleading. Gonna go rewatch the movie second time tomorrow in IMAX.
This review as a review is annoying and I agree with everything that you said. It’s almost as if he didn’t pay any attention at all. The part where he talked about the dogs blood really irked me. Yeah it’s dogs blood.... wait that’s your whole point? Incredible!! I’ll be coming back for more!!
Serves us right to expect an actual review from an “explainer” channel. Good at expressing the facts.... depressing when dissecting them.
I got really hurt when you said "they even made an cartoon adaptation'' bitch I got hurt cause this movie is coming from the ANIME and manga, that the fucking OG.
"170 million dollars for production? ... The avengers don't even use that much when they're dealing with one of them" The the first Avengers cost $220 million to make and all 3 sequels cost $300+ million each.
And most of that goes to the actors
This is the most silly video I've watched on this channel. He doesn't like the movie so he's trying his best to poke holes in it.
just check the budget for alle single hero movis and they alll around 140-180 mils so 170 for a big sci fi movie is not bad. so yeah he don't now what his talking about :)
PRODUCTION
He gets a bunch of other things concerning the plot of the movie wrong too. Shows you how much he actually prepares for these videos.
This is actually the best adaptation i’ve seen hollywood do from a manga
Oh nonononono. Don't put Alita into the same categorie as Jupiter's bullshit or the mortal engines crap.
Watch the movie. It is really good. No masterpiece in storytelling, but it is fun and it had many moments that surprised and/or shocked me.
Yes and what other way is there to set up an universe? There was no real cliffhanger or anything. They introduced the big bad after the main plot (Hugo's story) was done and teasered what might come. Complaining about that aspect feels like you wished that voldemord died in the first movie as well.
He did watch the movie lol
@@HoodedSpidey Thanks Sherlock. But that sentence was not adressed to him
Right. Still why the hell Alita was a love story between a robot girl and a human boy. I did not understand why did they waste such a great story...
@@hsynsrky the manga focuses a lot more on the question "what is human". So exploring this with a love story between a human and a more or less android, is a pretty good way. There just wasn't enough time. Ex machinima did it really well. And that is what they went for, until they wasted 30 minutes on motorball
@@hans170 If it was like Ex machinima I'd be much more appraciated but somehow for Alita's case it was boring af. I was like asking questions to myself while i was watching it but instead all i saw was a love story :/. Cameron makes movies that are enjoyable to watch, despite all the "realism" nitpicking.
Good movies aren't about "realism", they are about characters, story, timing, and pacing.
Just got out of the movie recently , and from what ive watched this probably is the best Manga/anime adaptation since Speed Racer and Edge of tomorrow.😄👌
Way better than GITS!
There is no transgender about this movie she was born a female that got converted into a cyborg at a young age to be Soldier / Elite assassins. People need to watch and read the anime / manga. And I like the movie it was good😁
Dude this movie was awesome. I'm seeing it again.
He died twice
Only Loki can pull that off
The one scene I felt was missing was showing Hugo going crazy after becoming a cyborg. Showing the disconnect between him and Akita and how there romance no joe never work. Other than that I thought it was a thoroughly entertaining movie with stunning action.
I think they made Hugo too nice and too pretty, in general. But yeah, that scene would've been cool.
Yes I thought the same thing. I wish they left him alive and addressed his turmoil with becoming a cyborg in the sequel. It could be such a good character exploration for him.
I agree with you 100% that Alita shouldn’t just gave her heart away like that to Hugo. I mean, they haven’t known each other for that long at allllll
It's in the book.
I watched it yesterday and didn't expect it to be this good. Idc what critics say this is a must watch for me.
As a person that went in with low knowledge about the anime, you thought it was amazing!! Very impressed how the storyline wasn't rushed but still kept it intriguing.
The I’ll give you my heart scene had me salty because I was like damn girl you barely know this man he kisses you and you ready to marry this man lol
LOL the pace had to be sped up but yeah, theyre portraying that she's got a lot of growing up to do, its a coming of age story where she starts off like a teenager who sleeps hugging plush toys xD
I leaned over to my friend and whispered: "Get you a girl who'll *_literally_* give you her heart." 😂
Alita is like a child at this point, gullible and all, so it was understandable, i knew people like those back in highschool.
Realistic though - girls fall instantly in love with guys like Hugo, no? :P
Well, she really is naive, even in the original. I thought it was cheesy as well at first because I watch the movie first, but after reading the manga... well, that was just how she is.
Well, the movie had a worldwide total gross of $404.9 million, against a production budget of $170 million. So thats 234 million dollar plus. So, it was worth it :)

And hugo really. I dont agree with the whole love arc and was happy when hugo died. They coulda done without that entire arc and the story wouldnt have changed. I checked out when you said the movie was a "stream it"
Anime fans have been asking for a GOOD adaptation for years and this is hands down the BEST live action anime adaptation. So telling people that its not worth watching in theatres is literally the exact opposite that all anime fans have been saying...
Actually to anyone saying they gave her anime eyes because it is a Manga adaptation they are mistaken as their are people with the same eyes as Alita in the movie shown during her flashback and they are all warriors from Mars that attacked earth 300 years ago. So basically the reason she has eyes like that is due to the fact she is from Mars and is one of their URM Berserkers not because of the source material being an anime or manga.
EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE ALL ALONG AAAGH.
Nerds.... but good to know lol
The anime eyes give her a special look, so i dont know why people complain, or i saw too much anime to notice.
Best line: "Fk your mercy!"
Went to see this movie on the weekend. I actually had a lot of fun watching it. Cant wait to see this the 2nd time.
This was a good movie.
Cameron knows how to deliver the goods.
He's one of the directors who can consistently deliver on Sci-Fi.
Junie from spy kids!?!?
Wtf
Anyone saying Alita movie took from other movies. Please remember, the manga and OVA, Battle Angel: Alita, came out decades ago, and every sci-fi movie has taken from it, so after so long time, it's kind of funny seeing thieves calling the original owner of the items, a "thief".
I just went to see it tonight and I thought it was gorgeous to look at and immensely entertaining and honestly making a manga (or an anime) a acted/live action movie is sooo hard and has failed HARD so many times and I gotta admit this movie made me feel fully invested (ofcourse some scenes made me go: what is this?) and again: immensely entertained. I liked it!
Agree!! Some scenes really feel like an anime!
Weak ass arguments to be honest. Bashing an action blockbuster for having a 'big' budget? 200M isn't even anything special for the genre, it's average, unlike this video, which was waaaay below average.
best movie of the past few years! saw twice so far. 3D was awesome. No clue y people don't like her eyes they look great
Best in the past few years is a stretch. It's a good movie with great visuals and an interesting concept, but there are way better movies.
Chris Teichrow Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, Dunkirk, M:I Fallout, Logan, War for the Planet of the Apes, Annihilation all say “Hi.” Those are just SOME of the blockbusters from the last two years that are heads and shoulders above Alita, to say nothing of the independent films the past few years. Glad you liked the film, it’s fun, but let’s not get carried away. lol

literally this movie never ended. I left the theater and legend says it is still playing.
Right?! Hahaha
Dude you don’t even understand the movie. First of all he didn’t suck out her body parts. She isn’t the enemy. And he isn’t trying to recreate his daughter. He probably did try to replace her with the the foster Alita 99 but I loved the adaption of it. He wasn’t creepy or excessive and she was badass for wearing the puppies blood. She is a iron strong killer inside and out. I can see why they promoted it for two years. The work the out into this movie shows. It’s excellent. Different from marvel movies and I can’t wait for the rest of the movies to come out.
It’s not revealed in the movie, but there’s a reason why she “marks” herself with the blood. It’s a thing berserkers do and at that moment she was doing something she had done 300 years ago, without realizing it, along with the line “I do not standby in the presence of evil”. the way he dismisses it shows that he has no understanding of depth or didn’t even bother researching the source material (manga). I’m sure in a future movie, if there ever is one, the reason for this “rite” will be revealed.
I don't get the comments about the eyes. It's based on manga. Don't hear people complaining about Superman flying, Hulk being too big, Batmans tech being too advanced, Aquamans underwater breathing and so on. It's a made up world, with it's own rules. -- I really enjoyed the movie and will definitely see any sequels.
I liked it a lot. Fun, what movies should be. Still listened to your entire review though. 👍 Cheers!

This movie was the most predictable, cliche, ridiculous thing I've ever watched. It was also the best movie I've ever watched.
It danced on the line between stupid and hilarious. Half the time I couldn't tell if it was a parody. The visuals were great, the effects were great, and the story and characters were so absurd and cliche'd that it was absolutely awesome. I was laughing the whole time in the theater. Intentional or not, this movie is epic.
Irina Blitz GO READ THE MANGA
I thought this movie was pretty epic when compared to others I've seen recently, except spiderman which was easily my favorite
I remember watching Lord of the Rings, first movie, and a guy behind me saying "What?" at the end. I had to tell him, three books, three movies. Nooooooo!, he replied. Alita is no different. If it left you wanting for more, it worked.
This isn't no remake. This was base on a manga.
“ALITA WHAT ARE YOU DOING GIVING A BOY YOUR HEART?!!” 😂
I loved the movie it’s not near perfect but damnit I respect the shit out of this movie
Look I’ve been really disappointed by movies like star wars and captain marve lately but Alita was badass. Finally felt like we got a quality movie.
I think the prequel will be 100x more entertaining then this. The whole movie felt like filler? I want to know more about the fall, like she’s from freaking mars how did that happen??? Why was mars and earth in a war?? Is there anyone left on mars? Why is this the only sky city still floating? Who tf is Nova and how is he immortal??? Like I want to see them fight on the moon not kill todo
Emmaline Geldhof LEGIT that’s all me and my boyfriend were thinking tbh. About how bad we wanted a prequel dedicated to the fall! Sadly we might not get it though so for now we’ll be sticking to the manga.
Edit: NEVERMIND just watched the rest of the vid good to see that we’ll be getting more of Alita !
To be fair I guess we will have to wait for the series to go to the end before seeing the prequel. The universe can be quite big and if you're interested enough. You might want to give the manga a read. There are many series
That's like complaining about Star Wars 1977 not explaining the Clone Wars.
Counterpoint- who cares. Especially with silly filmmaking like this.
The same question I have. That is what makes this movie really good. Do yourselves a favour and re-watch it. You'll catch the small details many critics don't bother catching.
Alita is actually one of the best sci-fi movie last year
The critics said Alita would only make 45M domestically after whole cinema run
But Alita already close to reach 45M in US after only 5 days of screening
LMAO Watched this movie a couple weeks ago and could not stop laughing at Cristoph Waltz running around with that BIG ASS HUMONGOUS hammer
It wasn't great... but it was really fun for me. I didn't felt confused at all to be honest 🤔
And the thing about her eyes... I don't get why people have a problem with it. SHE IS NOT HUMAN!
Alita Battle Angel movie is so much fun, I've seen it twice so far. :)
I'd recommend seeing it in 3d. You can see *inside* the cyborg bodies and see the mechanisms making them move, it's really cool.
I like how he always makes a premise in the beginning of the video then veers off to another tangent yet it still relates to what he was talking about in the beginning.
If the sequel does come out, I do want to see James Cameron direct it.
I liked it hopefully it gets a sequel
Good movies speak for themselves, and don't require a ton of people breathlessly tripping over themselves to yell "ZOMG NO WAY I ACTUALLY LOVED IT!!1".
I actually like adore this movie so much and I wish there was a sequel already because holy jesus
i just watched this yesterday and dang i LOVEEEEEE IT literally sCREAMED in the cinema like WOW. ( the cinema was empty don't @ me )
As a latina i can confirm spy kids was my heart, my soul, and the only thing I have to live for
I think it’s unfair to question what happens to Alita’s bodily waste because we see people eat in movies all the time and we never demand to see them take a shit just because we see them eat. Also Salem was before Elizium (not sure if I spelled that properly).
I cheered when Hugo was killed x 2. He was annoying as heck with his bs lines of "I've never killed, we just took their parts", he sccrewed over his friend just cause he suddenly got a change of heart rme and he's a terrible actor.
Seeing Jai Courtney had me dreading his comeback to movies. I hope not. Stop trying to make him happen, Hollywood.
It was ok, I can't with people acting like it was anything new lmao better than the trash that was mortal engines.
Yeah... they fucked up Hugos character. Way better in the manga. More grey and not the good locking and being the good guy at the same time.
I’m a Nigerian anime fan and considering what happened with ghost in a shell ,dragon ball and death note I’m happy to see an anime movie without all the whitewashing controversy
Loved this movie, I was entertained throughout the entire film
No... It's NOT like Spy Kids... Not really, at all... I mean, there's not even spys in it, and it's FAR more adult and brutal than ANYTHING in those movies. Plus, it's based on a relatively obscure manga by contemporary standards, so obviously, that kinda defeats the argument that it's a remake of Spy Kids. (which I do have a fondness for since I saw it as a kid and loved it back then. I actually rewatched it a few months ago even, so don't take this as me hating on that movie. It's just that it's totally different than this movie and FAR less mature. This movie is actually REALLY faithful to the anime OVA too. I watched it after I got home the night I saw Alita in theatres. it's remarkably accurate, it just added back in more manga stuff that there wasn't time for in the 55-minute run-time of the 2 OVA episodes.)
Why are her eyes bigger than my future
Because your a blonde default
Alitaaaaa with the Gucci band .... I damn near drop my soul on the 8th floor lmaooo
"No one going to call a penalty ?" It's a bloodsport
Exactly, they are supposed to die if they lose what do you mean a penalty?
r/woosh
90% of the movie was actually based on the first two novels. They only teased us with what was in the third and fourth novels to give us a taste of what is more to come. As a fan of the Alita genre, I think they did a great job but should had went for the R rating and Cameron should had directed it.
For his next proyect, Cameron is going to Film a Space Opera... IN SPACE!!
$200 million went into making one of if not the most beautiful movies ever created. A true feast of the eyes
I swear this movie already came out
You might be thinking of Ready player 1 because the Artemis has those type of eyes
Yeah it has I watched it a couple days ago
KidtokidsGaming I meant I thought it came out around a year ago
Gameplay King burch Hmmm Maybe it is that. They are similar stylistically.
@Eryk Ralston Yeah the trailer pff that came out a year ago or smthin
You had me at, "fruit ninja's her tear" lol....Movie seems faithful to the original story...imma check it out...👍👍😎
it was very faithful to the manga, i loved it
The dude Alita meets looks like College Andy from Toy Story 👀
I honestly love the manga and i always questions whats the point wouldn't be better to invest that money into multiple anime seasons as it will be more faithful and will cost less.
Yeah you're right...
true but james cameron has the rightes ti it he dos not make anime. but year a anime there covers the manga would be awesome.
@@MegaDixen i mean atleast a larger audience get to know the series however a tame PG 13 version.
Bro this movie is awesome. Is not perfect but no movie is. I’m glad they spend this much money on movies like this. Is a syfy epic and the cgi is incredible. Is almost word for word like the manga. What did you expect?. Not every movie has to be like blade runner, inception, or goodfellas. Just enjoy the ride bro, you don’t have to analyze everthing!
3:49 That's not a Mayan Calendar. That's the Aztec Sun Stone.
Which is derived from the Mayan calendar.
@4:10. “That character is Important in later stories.” WHOOPS!
I dont remember loving a movie so much that is hated by crítics ever before
I like her eyes. It gives character. Plush she’s a robot it makes her standout.
I loved this movie. Just a visual delight that makes you feel like a kid again. Just like Pacific Rim. (Except this one has way better dialogue). I hope it makes its money and they make a sequel.
If you go to these movies trying to yo make sense of everything than you're doing it wrong.
I had low expectations for this movie just because other Asian comics/novels/movies adapted by Hollywood never worked out. But I was immersed in the film, I was in awe during a lot of the scenes. The visuals in Alita were just wow.
