I guess I'll go ahead and close that Crutchfield tab now.
🤣
This is a situation where you want to make a few strategic cuts. A couple cut tabs in the right spot can greatly reduce the number of panels need to be taken off. You do run the risk of a panel vibrating, but can be easily fixed.
just bought one used. have to replace the radio. im gonna need frodo and gandalf to go with me
Deadddddd hahah
the little white connector is for satellite radio
Reminds me of when I did my buddies Durango. Had to pretty much pull the entire dash off. That was not fun.
Doing this job now, am five minutes in and am as far apart as this guy has his. Don't see the problem just watched this vid for start point
Acm
Would love to see his complaints doing a waterpump on a 6th gen sho😂
Hahahahahajajjajajaj I think I'm tapping into the rear speakers with high output. I'm sorry for your loss buddy.
Planned obsolescence, when the radio fails, trade it in!
Lol right...
What's up with the dash kit and losing climate control? Im confused, do you lose the controls in the wheel or everything in the dash? Im finding two dash kits one basic double din and a complete dash . ..? Thanks.
My 2014 SHO (75k) now has intermittent climate control/cut out! Ford had a recall for a related chip but unfortunately mine failed isn’t that one! PFIM chip or something like that and my touch screen controls currently work to restart it, but not my push buttons!. Not sure where’s it located but if it’s somewhere behind the center console I now understand why the dealer wants around $1200 to replace! I can’t imagine all of the trim being flush and in original condition after an R&R! I’m just living with it for the last year now…
Great video thanks so much!
Bruhhhh... no biggy
I just replaced a radio and watched an other video and was pretty easy. Looks intimidating but once you get it done it's a good
Thanks!
All that bullshit for a radio you should of changed the heater core to.Cause hell you was already there.
This is beyond ridiculous. I love Ford but WTF were they thinking???
That's nuts! They should be ashamed of themselves. That's not engineering. That's a lack of engineering.
No it's a guy in the engineering room with a maniacal laugh "I can't wait to see the Tech's respond to this later..." Over engineering the piss out of it.
@@CrazedPerformanceRepair He must have been recruited from Lego...
@@kikcodog no way because at least Lego has a purpose lol
@@CrazedPerformanceRepair Yeah, but like Lego pieces they are all locked together so you have to practically completely disassemble it to replace a piece. That's the craziest thing I've seen. I bet the aftermarket audio guys don't even want to work in them.
Very true, it seems like you always forget that one Lego that requires full disassembly.
So i have a 2012 Ford taurus sel...without the sony touchscreen..i put in a Metra aftermarket harness and hated it...is it possible to buy the harness from the taurus with the touchscreen and use it in my taurus? does anyone know?
Of course
How long did it be take?
Takes 20 minutes
Wow...and the fact that my radio doesnt work except for playing music...this is really discouraging lol
😁
Fully insure and go Cruz up and down a country road till you hit a deer
Damn.
My SHO Sony radio just died.
Bummer
Literally only takes about 20 minutes.
this is no real news, as ford has been doing this sort of nonsense for years. what is surprising though, is that there are still people who will by fords.
Unfortunately it's all manufacturers, however some of them do have a little more of it than others.
@@CrazedPerformanceRepair that's like saying oley's pizza is similar to little cesar's
@@violentmo2241 I can't relate to that reference. But I can tell you BMW and Nissan are worse than Fords in general. However a Ford Taurus is completely different from an F-150 and they're both made from the same company. So I can only speak in generalities. I'm sure you don't compare a chicken alfredo pizza to a pepperoni pizza. Just like pizza places, each one has its pluses and minuses. I don't know who oleys pizza is But I know Little Caesars is a really cheap pizza. So by being a cheap pizza it has the benefit of being cheap on a budget.
I have a 2010 SHO with Sony/Sync system and it SUCKS because I'm stuck with an obsolete GPS, UI, and crappy touch screen - It's a shame that I can't upgrade this head unit on an otherwise great car. I'm going to get a 10" [maybe 8"] Android tablet and build a bracket whereby I can mount it flush in front of the old screen - I'll make it so it can swivel away when I need to use the radio and climate controls. Other than that, thank god for tablets with built-in GPS & bluetooth.
Sawzall.
Lol
I know guys f*** all I have lost my blunt behind the cover and I have to remove
every single thing to just get the blunt that's f****** b*******
😂
