I was the one driving fox body stangs 20 yrs ago. I now have a 88 GT vert 5 speed with 56k all original miles all stock. Looking at getting a lx hatchback soon . The prices going up fast!
I have a 1993 Vibrant Red GT I purchased new November 11, 1993. I only have 33,000 original miles on it and it is in pristine condition. Great to hear that prices are rising and thank you for posting this video. Keep up the good work!
I have a ‘87 4 cyl convertible automatic. My dad and I bought it for $1500. We live in Rhode Island so winters will rust every car out there. The guy we bought it from ONLY drove it in the summer. Zero rust. We got it appraised and the insurance company valued it at $10,000. Biggest steal ever.

HOLY SHIT! No wonder it was so hard for me to find one, you have all of them lol, I just bought an 89 GT but I didn't buy for resale value this is gonna be something I drive all the time! You're gonna get a TV show offer on motortrend for sure for building these things
Thank you for your information a guy came to me a couple years ago with a bunch of s*** just like you said and I kept my car and looking at your show made me realize what I have thank you so much
It's so nice that they are going up in value. I for one did not want a flashy GT, that's why I bought my 87 5.0 LX hatch new. Once I get it running again, hopefully this summer, I'll bring it by your place. Thanks for the info!
Yup same thing I've been telling people! I'm always looking for good deals on coupes. I have a 93 black on black coupe and a 89 one owner coupe. Coupes are the next 69-70 fastbacks
Let me tell you, I had the chance not very long ago to buy an 87 TX dps mustang (t-boned, no title, no front clip, very rough for 300 bucks). Thought real hard, but passed on it. Anyway, I've now just recently acquired a '90 25th Anniversary LX 5.0 convertible (original red in color). The car looks great. Interior is real nice as well. I raised it up on the lift last week and Unfortunately discovered that it is very rusty underneath. Floors and rusty and yes, there appears to be rust on the frame rails too (no visible "see through" holes or anything, but it is there). I really like the car and think that it is worth saving (I'm already upset with myself about letting the dps stang get crushed, I sure as hell wouldn't want this one to endure the same fate in the future. I see a lot of TX plates on them cars in your video (I'm in TX myself). Austin. Do you know of anybody who is capable and willing to take on such a job to help save this car? Or is it even worth the trouble? I know it's a lot of money and won't be cheap, but if it's somewhat within my budget, I'm all for getting her taken care of. It's a toss up between the stang and a 69 2dr Nova that I have (also original red with rare bucket seat option and manual center console shift/ac car). I'm a Nova guy and really the ol cars but as much as I do, I still prefer the Mustang. So what do you think? Worth saving? (Estimated cost?). Know of anybody reputable in TX that could do the repairs? Let me know. Would be greatly appreciated -
Thanks for the value update. I purchased an all original 87' Vert GT automatic a couple years ago with 87k original miles and DMV records for it. Interior is show room quality. It was a 1 owner, garage kept car that was garaged. The original paint still has shine after I 3-step buffed it. I repainted all the trim with OEM paint (including luggage rack). I had to change out the exhaust since the car sat for such a long time. It had completely rusted out. Decided to upgrade it to a catless MAC Pro Chamber with 3" flowmaster tips. I welded in Steeda Powder Coated full length sub frame connectors, put a Steeda Powder Coated Strut Tower brace in, upgraded to Powerstop Z23 drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic brake pads on the front and and new OEM drums and shoes on the back. The shocks and struts were bad so I upgraded to Billstein's. Added lowering springs. The turbine wheels were in need of some restoration, so I sanded them and applied 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of OEM wheel paint, and 3 coats of clear. Look brand new again. I've got a couple of projects left like rebuilding the rear quarter window guides with the LMR rebuild kit and replacing all the dull dim dash lights with LED bulbs. But she's nearing completion. I am so torn of whether to sell and build another project car or to keep. I don't have room to keep the fox and start another project.
I just recently got into the FOXBODY game by buying a 20th anniversary 5.0 convertable with auto trans. It had 31k, now has 39k. Put on new top and thermostat in it. Paid 4k for it. The people I've told said I got a decent deal for it. The Foxbody community is always helpful with advice and information. That is a major plus in my opinion. I'm glad to be a member!
Great Video, new subscriber here from Western Canada (Calgary) I was one of the guys that bought a used '92 LX 5.0 Notch because it was lighter stiffer and more affordable than a GT or a Vert. I bought my Notch from the orginal owner in May of 1994 and I am coming up on 28 years of ownership in May. I get offers from guys wanting to buy it constantly. Not selling it ever, very few of them left here. Winters were hard on these cars so to find a clean non rusted out Fox is next to impossible in the Province of Alberta anyway.
You ain’t lying! Bought my 91 calypso coupe as a roller for 1200 3 years ago. Now I couldn’t touch one for even 3 times that! I’ve got my Eye on a 89 ssp shell now that I found recently and trying to work a deal.
Cool Video! I have a 1984 RS Capri still in the original tri-color white paint. I got the car from my dad in my early 20ies he bought the car new in 1984. My car stance wise is lowered with Centerline Scorpion rims. I have almost every suspension mod you can do and rocking a worked 347 stroker motor with a 150 hit of nitrous, super-fast. Very rare to see the foxbody Capri now-adays, very low production numbers (1984 just over 3,600 RS 5.0 cars) and unfortunately a lot of those ended up in the scrap yard. Gonna be hanging on to mine for quite some time 😁👍
I keep meaning to bring my fox up there to “show it off”. You were a huge inspiration while I was shopping for one. Now the real work starts. Love the work you’re doing for the community brotha 👍
I have a 92 white notch with only 90,000 miles. It’s never seen rain or snow and has ZERO rust. Fully built (all new headers and exhaust, new air intake, fuel system etc. , 17x9 chrome ponies, 245 in the front, 275 in the back both the rims and tires have never been used. Like straight out of the box put the rims in the tires and then never been put on till today. Just bought it last week for an absolute steal. Worth easily 20-30 k. Got it for 8,500 he was asking 16,500 and needed it gone that day. Will never get this lucky again. Just ordered a 4 inch cowl hood and there’s nothing else I really can do to it unless I want to buy a supercharger or change out the seats or something like that
Great Video. I have a 92 LX 5.0 Convertible 5 Speed Deep Emerald Jewel Green w/White interior. with like 80k original miles garaged for 18 years. I'm thinkin I'll be holding on to this one.
My Fox going up in value is a nice secondary benefit, but I drive it cause of the feeling I get when I get in the drivers seat jiggle that T-5 shifter and crank the ignition to hear those two chamber Flowmasters on a cold start. Transports me back to the 90s every time.
Oh me too , although I’ve only got the one , 89 4cyl coupe /ManO’war306 T5z conversion , I’ve owned it since 2005 , and now definitely forever , just in the process of installing my terminator x ,, but the A9L will stay in a box for safe keeping ,
Very nice collection fellow Texan! My parents bought me a 1991 fox body in high school, and I owned another 9 after that. Definitely fun to drive and addictive.
really enjoyed your knowledge and attitude! i have owned 6 foxes in the past 15 years! I currently own 2 -89 convertibles, one automatic I paid $1,200 for and a 5 speed i picked up for 2k! Both have 86,000 miles and they both need new tops and some TLC, But i’m feeling pretty lucky right now! Thanks for your sharing your Knowledge Bro 👍
I have a White 84 GT T-top car I've been holding onto for 12 years. People said I was crazy for not selling it because I've had some pretty fair offers, and the car is a little rough. I just really like the car just the way it is. It takes a load of stress off your mind when you don't have to worry about scratches, door dings and rock pecks.
I am getting a 83 GT Auto hatchback in a few weeks. Never even haggled on the sellers price. You're absolutely right - they are growing exponentially in value. when they hit 40+ yrs old they blow up. Wait and see.
Came across a friend selling a 89 coupe 5.0 5 spd black interior earlier this year. For less than I bought my 91 back in 2001 for. Needless to say it will not be leaving the family. Pays to have some good friends.
@@jeremiahtown4055 mine sat for 6 years. It always amazes me that this car always starts on the 2nd crank, no matter how long she sits. When I fix one thing, something else breaks. But the ultimate satisfaction comes from that big, stupid grin I get every time I take her for a spin! Keep up the good work, brother!
I watch the foxbody videos here on YT and am always interested in hearing more about them. The reason is because in Sept 93 I purchased from the dealer, a new 1993 Ford Mustang reef blue 5.0L black interior coupe base model. It is still my daily driver with 108000 miles. I am getting ready to refresh the body but the car is in original condition with new fenders needed due to some rust at the wheel wells.
100% facts i just subscribed to your channel. Video states nothing but the truth. You got love all the Fox or and Mustang so called adjuster on socia media. Most don't have a pot to p**s in. Or a window to throw it out of. But hey they do say what they feel it is worth. It ain't the late 90's or early 00's. When you could og get a real clean low mile Fox Mustang for $3500 bucks. Not them days anymore. You got to pay to play with them. Weather you like it or not.
Im glad i kept mine its an 87 vert gt 5.0 h.o. manual. Red on red with white top with the turbine wheels. I bought her used after high school. She was my first. She still turns heads when i drive her :)
so glad i found me an 87 original v8 coupe..pro comp 210cc aluminum heads, schneider 556 lift cam with 1.6 roller rockers, ho bottom end with flat top pistons, 10.7 to 1 comp, 30lb red top injectors..tuned on speed density, sitting on mt slicks, welded in torque boxes and sub frame connectors..4pt cage. Got it for 8k..did i do good
I will be selling my foxbody soon , 1992 LX Hatchback original V-8 / manual 5spd Original black interior 9 out of 10 .. Original 89k miles , carfax Clean title Never been painted, original ES wild strawberry red car and currently blown apart and been professionally painted .. Car is under a mild restoration and to be finished by the end of August , everything works and everything it’s been repair or replaced like brand new complete a/c system ..
Just found your channel. Great video. I subbed through both of my channels. I havent checked out any of your other videos yet. But looking forward to it. Back in early '15 I knew that it was the time to finally get into the Foxbody game. So I got myself a low milage 88 GT 5 Speed with very little mods. Owned by an older lady most of its life and has been within a few miles of where I live in Phoenix Az. Not nice paint is really the only bad thing. It got a bad paintjob about 7 years ago. But a buddy of mine just got the line on a deal on an 88GT that is a very nice nice original paint, no mods but Flowmasters and 100k miles, vert. That is stupid low money. He asked me what I thought. I just sent him this video.
i have a 1988 5.0 convertible with 73k miles original bought 11 years ago and i love it since i bought i have only put 1k miles on it putting it away for retirement
What's your opinion on the Mexican Fox Bodies? All the 79-84 Mexican built Mustangs came with the 5.0 (even 80 and 81 models) and then in 82 through 84 they were a mix of Capri with Mustang... You think those would become interesting collector cars?
New Subscriber here! Thanks for the Awesome vids! I'm getting a 87 coupe tomorrow, it has explorer intake, b cam, 5 lug swap, 5 speed transmission, 07 GT seats, sve radiator w/ electric fans all for 5k! What a steal in 2022! On my channel!
Found a 1983 3.6 v6 with 86k original miles. Polar white paint has the white soft top with glass insert.0 rips. Just paint chip damage engine runs amazing drove it 300 miles home from Kansas. Barn find 😂
Drove from Michigan to New Jersey the day after Easter in 2020 to get a clean ‘91 LX 5.0 5-speed in PA Emerald Green, it’s almost doubled in value in a year. From what I can find there were roughly 1000 made in 91.
Bro i have a 88 5.0 , 5 speed and a 1991 convertible 5.0 , 5 speed. I had 5 at one time but i had kids and life got in the way. But i will never sell any of mine . I can't tell you how many people stop and want to buy them when they are out of the garage. Love the info. Keep putting it out
91 LX 5.0 automatic, titanium grey, purchased off the Ford lot spring of 92. All original. Yes, its auto but the price was right and it's still a pleasure ride. 😁
I paid 2 G's for mine and I probably could gotten it down a bit... But hay what it is.. it needed lots of work. And still an on going project. Didn't by it to sell it. That's going to be one of my cars passed down through the family..😎👌🤙
Picked up an 89 GT vert this time last year. Slowly restoring it back with all functions and some. Its amazing how I see a primered project but the average joe sees a full on “sports car”
The only convertible I do like, a fox body! Got to loose the luggage rack. Do you remember the yellow covertibles with white interiors, we always called them summer editions, don’t know what they were really called. There was a couple running around in my younger years.
I know you mentioned the Hatchbacks I own a 1985 H-back with 68,000 miles I feel the value on this car is the fact it was the last year for the carburetor in the 5.0 Mustangs after this it was EFI.Original motor/ Transmission all original car 5 speed just a fun car to drive.Four Eyed Pride!
All nice cars and you are definitely right, foxes will be, are collectible. But given history on cars, especially 60s/70s muscle cars, I believe that the convertible versions will eventually be the most valuable, barring one off, special editions. Given that drop top muscle has always been popular with collectors. The old saying, "When the top goes down, the price goes up." Has been true for many decades.
My dad taught me how to drive in his 89 GT vert back in 94/95, and later my first car was an 87 LX 5.0 in 1996. Both cars are still in the family... I gave the 87 LX to my little cousin, and I inherited dad's 89 vert when he passed a couple years ago. It's definitely been a wild ride watching the demand and price skyrocket over the last few years. I've turned down many offers for both cars.
I'm 16 and my grandpa just gave me his old 85 lx vert. Yes that's right, I got it for free. It is dark blue with the 5.0, automatic, power windows and ac. He said he was going to take it to the scrap yard if I didn't want it, so he clearly didn't see the value in it. He had it stolen about 9 years ago after letting my my uncle borrow it when his car broke down, and he left the keys in it and somebody ran off with it. They drove it off into a cornfield into a barbed wire fence and ripped up the top and left big scratches on the hood and bumper and busted the quarter windows somehow. He replaced the top on it, but had plexiglass quarter window inserts made instead of replacing the glass; so now they don't roll up or down and don't seal at ALL. Also, the convertible hydraulic hoses are busted. It also needs interior restoration work done, like new door panels and new dash pad. I had just finished putting on new outside door handles since they were both broken and put in a new thermostat. I think there's an oil leak on the engine too, there is oil on the side of the engine and smoke coming from that area. Other than that, the car is in good shape, the engine and transmission are the main thing.
I have a 1979 Indy Pace Car I have owned since 1990, a 1990 and 1993 coupe (notchback), and a 2001 Bullitt True Blue. I am considering selling the 93 (I told my wife that I would when I bought the Bullitt), but just couldn't let it go. After seeing the prices of the notches recently, I may reconsider, but I would really miss it.
I have a numbers matching 1986 5.0 5 speed coupe with 68 thousand original miles, which is 1 of 502 that was painted white in 1986 . I'm currently restoring it because it got parked in 1990
It all depends on the person. Some like four eyes and carbs(they are going up big time!). Some like the 87-93. The Capri cars are getting HOT and they do look cool and aggressive! The coupes are hot!! They are selling faster than 93 Cobra's I've seen. Back in the day in southeast Michigan there were LX cars for days! I myself like the clean looks of the LX myself. Also the SN95 cars are on the rise as well! The GT cars hide cancer. I usually give GT cars the side eye.
And the t-top coupes. My uncle has a 81 brown on brown 4 cyl with 10 miles on it, original owner...Just sits, 4 spd t-top. Amazing that he never drove it.
buy the best fox body you can afford…simple. I just got my first one last month and the prices are going up and up. Found a solid rust free 89 GT that needs some paint and a little love here and there but I got it for a great price. Nothing like a manual fox with a 5.0!!!
great video! makes me miss my 1st stang even more! 1992 red LX 5.0 with black interior...had manual windows..northern winters and a dumb 16 year old ended that car.. 😢
I have a 88 vert. Put a Coyote, subframes, exhaust BUT it's an auto. Not the AOD, too much power now for that. The body has 200k but the engine is 3000k so, I'm up north so the miles will be low for a long time oh, and I put 3:73 gears in and WOW, what a difference 😁
I bought my electric red/ black interior 1993 5.0 5 speed coupe in 1998 with 62k for 6,500. I was 22 years old. And every year since have built this car and raced it, lost interest in it, regained interest, but i never let it go. I never thought they would be worth what they are but my fox was never looked at as an investment because even if i sold it now for 25k id probably still lose money. Hahaha and 23 years later more new parts on the way right now.it never ends.
I’m just sitting here with my 88 LX 5.0 5 speed coupe..... loving life.
Smart man!
That was my first mustang same year same platform it was a FHP car I really miss it traded for a 95 SVT corba mustang liked my fox body better

Great Video. I have a 92 LX 5.0 Convertible 5 Speed Deep Emerald Jewel Green w/White interior. with like 80k original miles garaged for 18 years. I'm thinkin I'll be holding on to this one.
I bought my 92 gt 5 speed five years ago. Love it! All original down to the wheels! Only modifications are a 130 amp alternator and a cold air intake.
Bought my 92 GT 5 Speed from the original owner back in 1998 and still have it.
My Fox going up in value is a nice secondary benefit, but I drive it cause of the feeling I get when I get in the drivers seat jiggle that T-5 shifter and crank the ignition to hear those two chamber Flowmasters on a cold start. Transports me back to the 90s every time.
And that sir is the exact reason I do what I do. I could not agree with you more.
I have 92 gt 5.0 5spd 89k miles and I love it.
40+ ,, YOU, are A legend Sir
Just a dude with a love for these ole girls. Living my dream for sure!
Oh me too , although I’ve only got the one , 89 4cyl coupe /ManO’war306 T5z conversion , I’ve owned it since 2005 , and now definitely forever , just in the process of installing my terminator x ,, but the A9L will stay in a box for safe keeping ,
I’m still drawn to that yellow for some reason. You have an amazing collection man. That’s definitely goals. I appreciate the passion man
@@randymoore3435 I love a yellow fox. They should have made more!
Love the foxbody coupe's
Glad i got my 87 GT when i did. My dream car loving it.
I still kick myself in the butt for getting rid of my old coupe.... Oh well play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Atleast you had one!
Just bought a 90 vert on craigslist. Our 91 gt was lonely.
How did I just come across your channel now. Love the collection bro.
Thanks and welcome!!
Man I miss mine. Thanks for getting it running.
Someday, you'll have another!
@@FoxbodyRehab if I do I know a good mechanic for it.
Glad I came across this video. It's the motivation I need to complete my 89 SSP FHP.
Thanks again
I am getting a 83 GT Auto hatchback in a few weeks. Never even haggled on the sellers price. You're absolutely right - they are growing exponentially in value. when they hit 40+ yrs old they blow up. Wait and see.
Great video. 87-93 GT's are the best. I had a 90 GT and would like to have another one.
Came across a friend selling a 89 coupe 5.0 5 spd black interior earlier this year. For less than I bought my 91 back in 2001 for. Needless to say it will not be leaving the family. Pays to have some good friends.
Can't wait to get mine back on the road !! 89 lx hatch 5.0
Been working on mine... best of luck to you!
@@k5wxp22 little at a time for me , actually have a few friends coming over this weekend hopefully I'll have wheels on the ground this weekend!
That's awesome you are the original owner and a great color combo to boot! Nice!
Very cool car!
Just picked up a 91 coupe original 5.0 5 speed car. Need paint and body work but it's pretty solid. I'm loving the value of the cars going up.
so glad i found me an 87 original v8 coupe..pro comp 210cc aluminum heads, schneider 556 lift cam with 1.6 roller rockers, ho bottom end with flat top pistons, 10.7 to 1 comp, 30lb red top injectors..tuned on speed density, sitting on mt slicks, welded in torque boxes and sub frame connectors..4pt cage. Got it for 8k..did i do good
Hell yeah ya did
I will be selling my foxbody soon ,
1992 LX Hatchback original V-8 / manual 5spd
Original black interior 9 out of 10 ..
Original 89k miles , carfax
Clean title
Never been painted, original ES wild strawberry red car and currently blown apart and been professionally painted ..
Awesome I just picked up another 89 original coupe too add too my stable
Great advice! Buy, Buy, Buy!
New subscriber here. I purchased a clean H/C/I supercharged 5.0 5-speed 1990 coupe 2 years ago for $10,500. Yeah, it has been quite the investment!
I bought mines. A 90 GT Convt. That bad boy was online for sale I snagged it within 24hours. I got a true steal.
My cousin has a DPS coupe, and a LX convertible. Also has another coupe I’m buying from him with a 5.8 swap. Can’t wait to get it!
What's your opinion on the Mexican Fox Bodies? All the 79-84 Mexican built Mustangs came with the 5.0 (even 80 and 81 models) and then in 82 through 84 they were a mix of Capri with Mustang... You think those would become interesting collector cars?
I am familiar with them but have never seen one here in the states. I like them and yes, I believe they will be collectable as well!
Good to hear that my 5.0 LX hatch was worth holding onto!
Bought my 89 GT in January of 95 for $4200. I'd like to get it appraised one day.
Oh, a coupe btw. Thanks for the info.
Your making the prices of the Foxbody Mustang rise faster
Yes sir. With chrome pony wheels and black leather interior. Bad ass cars!
I know you mentioned the Hatchbacks I own a 1985 H-back with 68,000 miles I feel the value on this car is the fact it was the last year for the carburetor in the 5.0 Mustangs after this it was EFI.Original motor/ Transmission all original car 5 speed just a fun car to drive.Four Eyed Pride!
i picked up a clean 1988 lx 4cyl vert untouched sitting for 10 years in a garage they are still out there
All nice cars and you are definitely right, foxes will be, are collectible. But given history on cars, especially 60s/70s muscle cars, I believe that the convertible versions will eventually be the most valuable, barring one off, special editions. Given that drop top muscle has always been popular with collectors. The old saying, "When the top goes down, the price goes up." Has been true for many decades.
93 triple black gt vert and an 84 t top gt with 82 front clip. Love my cars
Smart man, definitely hold on to them!
Congratulations it sounds like a great start to a really nice car
I miss my 88 Fox Body LX 5 speed. Though it was a 4 cylinder she was sweet
Lots of cars Buddy .. Nice vids..
I have an 82 GT 4 speed hatch and an 82 Merc with T roofs. Was thinking of selling the Mercury but I'm having second thoughts now.
Keep em both!!!
I'm currently restoring it because it got parked in 1990
What a glorious collection 😍 i feel like im slippin with 2 coupes
One can never have too many!
@@FoxbodyRehab 🙏 amen, doing the lords work my friend
It is truly a labor of love.
I got 82 GT full stock, 83 GT turbo all stock, 84 L 5.0 5 spd base car, 86 Lx 5.0 5spd, and a 86 Predator...And adding more lol
I only like the 5.0 gt hatch back 87 and up. Just bought an 88 gt mass air flow but didn't buy it for collection. Bought it for my daily.
And the t-top coupes. My uncle has a 81 brown on brown 4 cyl with 10 miles on it, original owner...Just sits, 4 spd t-top. Amazing that he never drove it.
About 3 years I traded a 99 gmc sonoma for a 93 lx notchback. Love my coupe and am putting a 5.0 in it.
That was a great trade!
@@FoxbodyRehab thank u. I wouldn't get away with that now because of how much prices have gone up so I know I got lucky with the timing.👍
buy the best fox body you can afford…simple.
Have an 88 lx 5.o convertible
Not many around my area
Fun to drive
Got a 90 gt 5spd 5.0 the boy and I fixed up for his first car. Looking for a notch now so we can fox around together.
You are 100% correct!
Great video. Now. Im not selling my 1992 race red GT. IM Taking it to the grave with me. 🤣🤣
Black/black 91 lx 5.0 right here! Got the marti report. One of 40-something made. Keeping it!
Hell yeah!
Love my 87 GT 5 spd👍
What I really want that have, always been hard to find...1985 Mercury Capri RS two tone silver sitting on pony wheels. Preferably the Pony R's
