Today is my 80th birthday and think I will make these and share with my neighbors. We share our baked goods during this time since we are all baking/cooking just to keep busy. We are mostly widows or just couples that live around us so sharing is a good thing.
Paula, north Florida girl here. I absolutely love these unedited videos of you. It's such a better glimpse into the person you are, in comparison to when someone is rushing you or when you are edited down. I love the pauses and the ums and everything because it's real! My 11 year old daughter grew up listening to you on your show and loves you and your voice. She is enjoying the videos too.
Paula never left the game. Paula's an OG --if it wasn't for Paula on Food Network in the early 2000s, there would be no Ree Drummond. Paula paved the way for others to follow.
@To Be Honest You have to remember the premise of these daily quarantine videos --using items you may already have in your pantry. Paula does have a low cal, low fat cookbook. I think it's called "Paula Deen Trims The Fat" or something similar. Maybe in future quarantine videos she'll pull a couple of recipes from that cookbook.
@To Be Honest If you "let" Celebrities influence your children that's on you. It's your responsibility to influence your children and "you" need to explain these are desserts for special occasions, not every day. That responsibility is not Paula's or anyone else for that matter, if you don't want your children eating these things it's your responsibility to ensure they not watch these videos.
To Be Honest oh please. Then don’t let YOUR kids watch. These recipes aren’t meant to be eaten daily. So ... if *_YOUR_* kids cook them daily then *_YOU_* should have a better influence on *_YOUR_* kids’ dieting choices. Also ... to be honest ... you don’t need to include other’s children and speak for them, and say “our” children.
Does anyone wish they could spend one day with this amazing lady...I do 👍. I would love to watch her cook and hear all her stories . Love you beautiful Paula ❤👍❤👍❤👍
@anne marie x It's so funny that people who dislike her....like you 🤨are so very much in to her channel...and take time to watch her . You need to find something.... on UA-cam you like and be a happy person.👍😊
We just ate at your restaurant in pigeon forge we waited 3 hrs to get in due to tables being removed for social distancing. Anyway my 7 yr old thinks paula really cooked the food at the restaurant she said “man that paula deen cooks good !” She was so excited i didnt have the heart to tell her paula wasnt in the kitchen. She loves these youtube videos and we have made the peach cobbler and i cant wait to make these with her

Paula, you are such a blessing to me. I am older in a wheelchair now but I did so many wonderful things when I was younger and healthier I did so many things. I served in the Army for 8 years, teacher, pastors wife and so much more. I adopted two children and now have a son in law. Both my daughter and her husband are special needs and have taught me so much more then I have I have taught them. I can so relate to not wanting to go out as I fought to work through finding myself at 46 single and adopting my daughter by myself. Now, I desire to cook and do things I thought I would not be able to as I find myself in my chair, on a tight, tight budget and it is from watching you through the years and especially right now in this pandemic. I got the virus and was very sick but I am working to recoup erase and your videos have so encouraged me. You have encouraged me. I praise God for you. You truly make a difference and I know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God loves you so much and I do too!
Chocolate and peanut butter: A match made in heaven! The peanut butter ball recipe for buckeyes I saw is different: peanut butter, regular butter, and confectionery sugar
Thank you for the smiles. I'm 70 and made these for my children for snacks served with apple slices and sunflower and pumpkin seeds. All their friends came over after school for these snacks. I still eat these today as my favorite snack.
I love anything 'peanut butter' pies, cakes, cookies, and peanut butter curry vegetables! Thanks for your instruction for kids Just so much appreciated!
Paula I just love hearing you talk about all your stories. You crack me up! ( Well honey on Fridays: Don"t get in Paula Anns way! Cause I was running into that cafeteria to go get my peanut butter ball :D ) Laughing and Imagining you as a little girl doing that. Paula, thank you for bringing some fun smiles to my day every time I watch your videos. Bless your precious heart.
My family is BIG on peanut butter. When we were living in Tennessee, my husband lost his job and all we had to eat was a jar of peanut butter to share between me, my husband, our daughter who was barely a year old at the time. Also, we had to be careful with what food we had, so all 3 of us shared 1 sandwich. Times got better and we found a bit of prosperity. I lost my husband to cancer 8 years ago. My daughter doesn't remember that the only thing we had to eat for a time was that one jar of peanut butter... and a little bit of bread. She doesn't know why, but she doesn't like eating it. I think it's because of this impoverished experience. That was 13 years ago. Still, I think I'll drag her into the kitchen to make this. Even though I'll most likely be the only one who ends up eating them.
What a wonderful memory and a great story. I can also remember some really great school lunches, peanutbutter sandwiches and vegetable soup, yum, just one of my favorites.
@Ruh Roh As someone that is in school this is so true. I wish schools would continue to do it because I’m sure it’s way better then throwing in the microwave
OMG...just made these 2 days ago. My mom's recipe is slightly different. 1/2c peanut butter, 1/2c honey, 1c powdered milk, and 1c quick oats. I agree….so good!!! Mom got the recipe from a magazine for nursing moms in the 70's. It also called for it to be rolled in coconut flakes, but she never did that.
I like that your videos are not too long but boy I find my self wishing they were longer!!!! Don't be afraid to do more like 30min videos every week because I know I would watch....P.S. I think it's your wonderful stories!!! You are a great storyteller and I just love hearing all your stories of growing up and your family and how things were in your part of the world at that time. Just love it!!🥰🥰👍👍🤗🤗

Thank you Ms. Paula. In Ohio, we dip refrigerated peanut butter balls 3/4 the way in melted semisweet chocolate--we call them buckeyes! We serve them on cookie tables at weddings and graduations!
Well, this might be a recipe meant for the kids, but this big ol' 58 year old kid is going make them too! I do love Peanut Butter Balls, but this a very different recipe than any I've ever made. I can't wait to try it. And, Paula, you are absolutely wonderful. I look forward to your daily posts.
Paula can make you feel like your the only one She is talking to when she’s doing these cooking shows!!! She is such a personable gracious beautiful lady!!!!
My little 9 year old son saw this in your cook book when the quarantine first started and wanted to make them so much!!! Thank you for this wonderful recipe! 🥰😍
Oh my goodness gonna make them today, and use meadowfoam honey & roll them in pecans! My grandmother was from Bainbridge Georgia I know she would have loved this recipe. Meadowfoam honey is native to Oregon Paula and taste like marshmallows! You should really try some in your coffee, makes everything taste fantastic !
We had these too. I loved them too. I remember ours being more chocolaty, and they had crunchy chow mein noodles. Every once in a while the ladies would sneak in raisins! Catastrophe!
We used to eat these in preschool! I literally tried for like an hour last night to find the recipe and all I got was Buckeyes. I was super disappointed. Then today I see this! I have been craving them so bad!!!!
I bought that cookbook for our son when it first came out - we still have it and use it! You have helped us create so many wonderful memories in our kitchen, I cannot thank you enough. Growing up, I was never allowed to cook with my mom or do anything in her kitchen. Watching you has taught me so much about the joy of family and creating delicious dishes together. I will always be thankful for running into your show on tv, all those years ago. It changed so much for me! 💖💖💖
I know without a doubt the kids love them, but I made them for my husband, and he was like a kid. I caught him with one every time I turned around. It was hilarious, he loved them so much. One more horrendously successful recipe! ⚡️💖⚡️
Oh my goodness.. These were my favorite at school.. I have been trying to recreate these for years.. I grew up in Florida and we had peanut butter bars.. I would trade my everything on my tray to get a couple more.. Thank you for this Paula. Going to try this recipe..
I went to San Jose in Florida and on Friday it was the same lunch. I have been hunting this recipe for 40 years. Thank you!!!!!!! At my school they used coconut instead of corn flakes. I LOVE them. My school great lunches, not like the school system does today. Back then the used spices not like today. We were served 3 balls in a bowel.
Hi Paula, I am seriously enjoying your quarantine videos. I have already made a few recipes and made door drop deliveries to my family. My family raved about the not yo mama's banana pudding and I couldn't believe how much I loved your grape salad. I'm from Maryland and no one I know would have ever mixed shredded cheese into a fruit salad. I was skeptical but when you said that you would make that salad for visitors from the north and they loved it I figured that I should give it a try. What else can I do during this quarantine, right? I'm a dental assistant so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to work. My family loved it and so did I. My family has already decided that I'm bringing all the sides to the next family cookout! Thanks Paula for being you. I just adore watching you. Elisa😁
My mother made this when I was a child, she never wrote a recipe down, I don’t know how she did it she remember her recipe, she didn’t even go by a recipe when she cook. Me I got to make sure I don’t leave something out. Thank you for sharing I haven’t had peanut butter balls made with powdered milk in years.
I made these last evening, and they turned out wonderful, so easy and yummy. I just dipped my cookie scoop into cocoa powder between each scoopful so it didn't get sticky, each ball got just a touch of cocoa flavor (the way I like it), and I didn't need to roll them in anything afterward. I made mine with 2-4 cups Milk powder (Nida brand), just enough to make the dough come together nicely, a regular 16 oz jar of peanut butter, and about 2 cups of good honey. That yielded 45-48 balls. Next time I'm going to try this with Maple syrup instead of honey.
I love cooking, and my daughter is five. She LOVES being my helper in the kitchen. She can now make her own fried eggs and scrambled eggs with me supervising of course. But she loves being in the kitchen. She always tell me that no ones food taste quite like mine.😂 just like my mommas food and grandmommas food. If we love being in the kitchen together.
This recipe has been around for 100 years and I’ve seen almost as many recipes for them. This one looks like a real winner too. Can’t wait to try them !
Wonderful! I laughed at the part of you reiterating that the peanut butter balls were naked and not the ones serving them, then I told my husband. I then asked my husband if he'd like me to make him a batch, and he said, "Yes, naked." 😂😂😂 I gave him ammunition! Ha! Thank you for the fun video! Have a beautiful weekend! Much love and big hugs to each of you. ❤️🤗
Love you, Paula...I just ordered your “My First Cookbook” for my two little great grandchildren. I started teaching my sons how to cook when they were two years old (Never too young!). When my oldest son was only eight years old I was sooooo sick with the flu that I couldn’t get out of bed to fix dinner. He said to me, “I’ll cook dinner Mommy!” He baked a chicken with potatoes and a vegetable, and it was delicious!!! I LOVE all the “extras” you put in this little book because they are sooooo important for them to learn all those things. TY Paula...I can’t wait to give it to them!!! 💕
Ms. Paula, is such a Beautiful Storyteller, my mom made peanut butter balls & rolled them in crushed graham crackers, they were so good, they had honey, coconut, raisin's,in them, sometimes she used crunchy peanut butter, but the crushed graham crackers take it to the next level ♥️
Ms. Deen, thank you for these short and easy videos. They are informative but what I like about them is the unedited (or very few edits) format. It gives the feel of being a friend showing a friend how to make the dishes. We made the Peanut Butter Balls yesterday and added some corn flakes into them. They are so easy and awesome. I hope that you continue to do this format once the unpleasantness is over.
I was talking about that recently. At least once a week when I was in school (graduated in 83) we had peanut butter sandwiches with lunch. Honestly in my 13 years in school no one ever had any reaction. Seems like these peanut butter allergies just came out of nowhere.
@@kimmalone802 , I know it...!! Isn't that crazy ? I also remember when kids were allergic to milk ... they got orange juice instead of milk . There was no such thing as lactose intolerant , but I remember milk hurting my stomach so bad and there is no telling how many kids that were going through the same thing at that time , because no one knew about lactose intolerant . You had to get a doctor's excuse to get orange juice . I remember begging my mama to get a doctor to write a note to the school so I could get orange juice instead of milk , but she wouldn't do it . By George... You best believe I made sure my kids didn't have to go through that at school and suffer like that . My son got orange juice, because he was lactose intolerant . It didn't bother my daughter thank the Lord , but if she needed it changed I would have taken care of it . 😉🙂
I love Peanut butter balls too . I know my grandkids would love to make these . Can we still buy your kids cook book ? My grandkids would love one of these cook books . Thank you Paula for sharing that story of when you were a little girl . I could just picture it now . Look out here comes Paula Ann !! lol !! I love it !! 😂😘❤
People, if you don't like Paula, then you don't have to watch her channel, or make rude comments if you do watch. I've never met Paula, but I've eaten at her restaurant in Savannah a few times. Delicious Food. I ate at Bubba's restaurant on Tybee island many years ago, before it closed. I did get to meet her sweet brother. He was walking around greeting and talking to everyone. I'm sure Paula is just as sweet as Bubba was.
Love this woman’s cooking support her all the way! love Paula Deen she seems so cool! Wish could meet her! she’s the next Julia child ! Queen of cooking!
My mom has made her version of peanut butter balls every year for Christmas and that is the only time she will make them. They contain.. Peanut butter, powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla, raisins and coconut. All that gets mixed up and rolled into balls then dipped into melted semi sweet chocolate chips melted with Gulf wax which gives it a thin shiny coating. They are creamy, rich and you can't eat just one.. Pretty much like buckeyes with coconut and raisins..
Paula!! Where can I get those kids cook books !? I have an 8 year old who loves to cook and I learned from my granny Catherine I cook with love and butter Crossing my fingers those beautiful books aren’t too expensive - single mom! 4 kids 🥰 my whole world Thanks Paula glad to see you
I remember eating these in school in Mississippi. I was like you, they were my favorite. I make them myself but have never used powdered milk in them. I bet it will make them better. Gonna try it.
I knew the recipe I used didn't taste like I remembered. When I tried Paula's I knew it was the milk. It made all the difference. So much better. I love this recipe and I bet you will too. Tasty and so easy. (In school I think they rolled them in Corn Flakes.
OMG you have made my day, well you do every time I watch you BUT I have been looking for this recipe for 20+ years ! They were square and sprinkled with powder sugar here in Jacksonville, Florida
I've been watching you cook your delicious recipes since I was a little girl! My family and I cooked your Bread & honey butter recipe yesterday! Thanks for sharing your time with us and just wanted to let you know that your an inspiration to many :)
We have something like that we make here in a Ohio especially during OSU Football games and the Holidays. They go into everyone’s cookie tins we give out to friends and family. But we call them Buckeyes. Because we Pour a chocolate sausage over too of them and when they harden and pick them up the bottom side is exposed and they look like little Buckeye nuts that fall from the trees up here in Ohio. Good idea huh 🤔?
Miss Paula I love your stories and your positive attitude. My grandsons and I decorated their Halloween cupcakes for their classes with your peanut butter recipe only the boys squished the mixture into scarry molds then placed in the fridge they had so much fun putting their peanut butter monsters on the cup cakes and they were a big hit in the class room. Big Texas Hugs Miss Paula and much Love.
They had those when I was in school in the 70's...they seemed to disappear. A friend's mom worked in the cafeteria, wouldn't give us the recipe ☹️. I was told at times they would add cocoa to it, but ratios I don't know...other times they would mix chopped peanuts into them, but Ms Paula, I was like you and got up in line real quick ( for applecrisp too), was very lucky that I had a friend whom didn't like anything unless it was a PB&j, or fluffenutter...so I got hers too!
I'm from Camilla Ga that's the heart of Mitchell Co. My daughter attend Baconton Charter School she"s in the 5th grade. Paula I have always watch your cooking show, and I tell you I love your Recipes. I have tried so many of them. The one I love the best is your lemon blossoms.
Good morning Miss Paula I am so glad you still letting others know and myself still keeping recipes going so thank you so very much for that. Just wanted to let you know that mini mini years ago when you first started out, I watched you then and I hated you had to leave then I’m glad you’re back, so I’m just catching up on your videos so there’s so many recipes that I didn’t get that I would love to have and I also went to my local library store but that’s been many years ago like I see it and got some recipes out of their books, but I would have loved to have those books, so thank you again Miss Paula and I love you and God bless you stay well and safe 2024
Thank you 😊 Ms. Paula lovely lady. I will have to make almond butter balls because my boy can't have peanut butter. Thanks for this lovely recipe once again.
my mother gave me this recipe. she used to make them for us and I've made them for my kids and grandkids. I still love them. it's one of those recipes you can add other goodies to, like chocolate chips, toffee chips, peanuts or other nuts. finding dry powdered milk is a little rough right now unfortunately. you can always make that if you know how. I had to watch this video knowing what this recipe is. it does remind me of simpler times as a kid, thank you for sharing this paula.
I believe this is the same recipe as peanut butter play doh. The kids would shape it into spaghetti and meatballs, cookies, etc. They'd have their fun and eat it too! You can add more powdered milk if its too sticky. Coconut sprinkled as cheese on the spaghetti etc.
I used to love peanut butter balls at school also. When I grew up I worked for headstart school and got the recipe. Made them for years for my kids. Dipped them in chocolate coating at Christmas for parties and gifts. Then when my grandson had milk allergies, I had to experiment and figured out that cornmeal makes a good substitute for the powdered milk.
I had to dig it out of a recipe box but this reminds me of the peanut butter balls we made in girl scouts (40 yrs ago) which had sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and chocolate chips together-We could not roll those up and eat them fast enough! thanks for the memories!
Today is my 80th birthday and think I will make these and share with my neighbors. We share our baked goods during this time since we are all baking/cooking just to keep busy. We are mostly widows or just couples that live around us so sharing is a good thing.

We had these same “cookies” in my school in Boston. I’ve been looking for the recipe my entire adult life.....I’m so excited! 😍😍😍
Wow interesting. never heard of this honey I'll have to try it in coffee I'm a picky coffee drinker.
TheWax SkinSpa wow how cool! Now I’m seeking out this honey! Lol
Queen Anastasia it is fantastic !
Kris you will love it!
Florence Tatro it’s so tasty you will really love it!
We had these too. I loved them too. I remember ours being more chocolaty, and they had crunchy chow mein noodles. Every once in a while the ladies would sneak in raisins! Catastrophe!
Jackie Garcia Yummmmm!
I used to make these for my kids 35 years ago. Just love them. I don’t know where I got my recipe from but it was the same one love you ❤️
Hi
How’re you doing
How did they compare?
I went to San Jose in Florida and on Friday it was the same lunch. I have been hunting this recipe for 40 years. Thank you!!!!!!! At my school they used coconut instead of corn flakes. I LOVE them. My school great lunches, not like the school system does today. Back then the used spices not like today. We were served 3 balls in a bowel.
Hi Paula,
I am seriously enjoying your quarantine videos.
That is so sweet and cute! Thank you for sharing that!
The cookbook shes using is a good one to use to make foods with kids. My family enjoys the recipies in that book.
This recipe has been around for 100 years and I’ve seen almost as many recipes for them. This one looks like a real winner too. Can’t wait to try them !
Hi
How’re you doing
@@frankglen4868 Fine and you ?
@@BethyKable I’m good thank you
Where do you live?
Back when you could have peanut butter in school, now you can't due to allergies.
Bonnie Irvin , that's right . My daughter and I were just talking about this the other day . I guess it's best to be safe than sorry though . 🙁
school food is terrible now.
Our school had them on special occasions, so happy you shared this recipe ❣ we love you Miss Paula 🙏❤🙏
My school used plain Corn Flakes for a covering. I loved them too!

Queen of cooking!
every time I see a video of yours I automatically smile thank you for posting it brightens my day especially this quarantine take care
I’m loving these recipes Aunt Paula🤗 Can you Please do Cubed Steaks & Gravy?
My mom has made her version of peanut butter balls every year for Christmas and that is the only time she will make them.
They contain..
Peanut butter, powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla, raisins and coconut. All that gets mixed up and rolled into balls then dipped into melted semi sweet chocolate chips melted with Gulf wax which gives it a thin shiny coating. They are creamy, rich and you can't eat just one.. Pretty much like buckeyes with coconut and raisins..
"They weren't naked, the peanut butter balls were." Thank heavens! lol I'm making these this weekend, Miss Paula. Thanks for another great recipe.
Just purchased your My First Cookbook for my favorite little chef! This recipe looks like a lot of fun! Thank you Paula 🙂
I worked in a school cafeteria years ago. We mixed coco powder in with ours. Fudge Peanut Butter Balls, they are great.
I remember them being made like that as well. Of course way before they had to worry about all the peanut allergies.
😞
Paula!! Where can I get those kids cook books !? I have an 8 year old who loves to cook and I learned from my granny Catherine
I cook with love and butter
Crossing my fingers those beautiful books aren’t too expensive - single mom! 4 kids 🥰 my whole world
Thanks Paula glad to see you
Yummy Peanut butter!!!
I remember eating these in school in Mississippi. I was like you, they were my favorite. I make them myself but have never used powdered milk in them. I bet it will make them better. Gonna try it.
Hi
How’re you doing
what did you used to put in them in place of the powdered milk, and did you try these yet? I am dying for a review!
I knew the recipe I used didn't taste like I remembered. When I tried Paula's I knew it was the milk. It made all the difference. So much better. I love this recipe and I bet you will too. Tasty and so easy. (In school I think they rolled them in Corn Flakes.

Thank you for these videos :) You and your show have meant so much to my daughter and I over the years. We are so thankful for you- much love!
OMG you have made my day, well you do every time I watch you BUT I have been looking for this recipe for 20+ years ! They were square and sprinkled with powder sugar here in Jacksonville, Florida
I love peanut butter. I cannot wait to make these balls...what an easy recipe for the kids. Thank Paula, we love you!!

I use to use this dough for an edible play dough, my children and grandchildren loved it!!!
One of my favorite people on earth. I eat at your restaurant every time I am in Savannah. Thank you for all the love you share
I love listening to her talk as much as I love her recipes!!! Paula you rock!!!
My grandma made "buckeyes" being from Ohio. Same concept but dipped in chocolate, still my fav!
This is a great recipe I think it was a staple in all schools at one time we had it served to us the 80's they were rolled in Corn Flakes
I believe this is the same recipe as peanut butter play doh. The kids would shape it into spaghetti and meatballs, cookies, etc. They'd have their fun and eat it too! You can add more powdered milk if its too sticky. Coconut sprinkled as cheese on the spaghetti etc.
Love you Paula! Thank you for bringing us joy and delicious goodies! ❤️💙💜
I love her stories; however, if you're in a hurry for the recipe (shame on you for being in a hurry 😢)

Just love your @ home videos❤️..hope they don’t stop..you are a treasure. I stopped watching food network after they banished you.
I loved them as a child too... Albany Ga here.. Love you Paula💕🙌🏾💕
You can also use coconut milk powder.
I’m going to buy that book for my future grandkids! My son & I love to cook so I’m hoping their babies will love it as much as we do!
I loved these as a kid and only got them at school. Thanks for reminding me.
I had to dig it out of a recipe box but this reminds me of the peanut butter balls we made in girl scouts (40 yrs ago) which had sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and chocolate chips together-We could not roll those up and eat them fast enough! thanks for the memories!
