Subaru Forester
I'm an owner of #2 on this list, the 2023 Tucson Hybrid... it's an amazing SUV and I love it!
I own twin sportage kia
The tucson is one I’m eyeing now
Wow!- Honda CRV did not make the list? Kinda makes me distrust the list!
Johnstroud, the new CR-V is an updated generation, and may not have been fully tested yet.
Crash tests in America .....Honda HRV THE WORST SIDE IMPACT OUT OF 20 SUV's......chew on that .
CRV is the best one no matter this video says. Honda has its on class of quality and reliability.
Compared to CX-5 ...CRV is slow and boring ....drive a CX-5 turbo before you put your bias views out there ....your wrong !
@@patrickgagnon9662 just to let you know I worked for Mazda and Honda both manufacturer Mazda is good but cannot compare with CRV. It’s not biased view I have been in the car business for 28 years I see it every day there resale is no way near to Honda.
@@ammarsheikh7831 Some people like to drive a SUV that is not as boring as a CRV....take a turbo CX-5 on a drive , then Honda ...you'll get it .
For all those bashing Kia - remember that even Scotty Kilmer rates them as the 4th best Asian cars! Ahead of them are Toyota (1) Honda (2) and Mazda (3).
Hard to believe that CR didn't rank the Honda CR-V anywhere...
1.5 l turbo engine problems could be the reason

RAV4 Hybrid has a major problem with corroding cables which can literally cut off power. A $7000CDN repair out of warranty. No thanks.
I have been reading about that issue as well! Until that problem is corrected, I’ll be avoiding the Toyota hybrids!
This corroding cable problem was addressed by Toyota with the release of the 2021-year model.
@@reaality3860 Good to know..
@@reaality3860 I don't think that is accurate. What did they do to correct the issue?

Mazda CX-5 for the win.
All the way!
how long have you had it ?
@@Fatelvis2 I bought a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek 6 speed manual instead. 😂👍
@@jeffrey3498 I go to the Mazda dealer tomorrow if I am not feeling it then I think I will go with the cross trek manual
@@Fatelvis2 You can’t go wrong either way. The CX-5 is a compact SUV and the Crosstrek is a subcompact. The Mazda costs a few thousand more and it has a more powerful engine. But a Subaru is a Subaru plus it has a fantastic symmetrical AWD. The only reason I started looking at the CX-5 was because I couldn’t locate a premium manual Crosstrek, but one showed up at the last second at Twin Falls Subaru. I think you’re looking at a win/ win situation either way. Keep me posted on what you end up getting.
Compact?! Maybe for USA😉😊!
Yeah, they are considered compacts here in the U.S. but elsewhere they may not be.
Mazda hands down.
Also look at the Mitsubishi Outlander.
I have a 2022 KIA SPORTAGE hybrid,
I think it is out of competition.
That starting price doesn’t get you any of the fancy features that come only on top trim models
Nissan Rogue is a 3 cyl turbo. Your reviews stayed 4 cyl.
I bought the 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum last weekend. Beautiful! It is a 1.5 l, 3 cyl turbo. It comes with lots of safety features and upgrades. My favorites..... the
heads up display and 360 camera. I love it. I just wish it was a little
bigger.

Time flies and changes everything. Since 2000, Kia, Hyunda motor Group has gone a long way.
Especially in EVs, there are in front line no matter what they say. When Experts say you ve got to believe, they would not going to lie if they want to keep their reputation.
Go over the last 5 years of KIA , check the amount of problems and recalls ...too much for me .
I can’t disagree with either comment….overall, Kia / Hyundai have come a long way on quality/reliability but, at the same time, the last 5 years of headlines would have to make potential buyers question the wisdom of purchasing one.
Hyundai Motors is also in the front line when it comes to facing criminal charges for failing to comply with Transport Canada safety recalls. Anyone up for an exploding engine? Anyone?
I work for Kia the worst engines and electric problems I have 6 Sorentos 2023 waiting for engines Sportage, K5 all have electric and engines issues one of the worst customer service on the earth.
am I goofy to want a manual and if need be a automatic but not a CVT
Manual yes, CVT no.
@@davidturgeon2087 after waiting a month for a manual it was sold out from under me ended up with a Mazda with a automatic hope it lasts
I see that you didn't include Buick Envision. It is as nice or better most on your list. That strongly suggests that this post is sponsored advertising.
Sorry you don’t like the list but we clearly indicate in the title of the video and in the intro that this list is s from Consumer Reports…not us.
Mazda cx50
Oops, AND The cat transmission, COSTS MORE to maintain/repair!
No discussion about towing capacity, huh
Personally, I am not pkeased with this list. It is not clear if "Reliability" is taking in consideration for the vehicles making this list, as well as the cost to keep some of those vehicle running. So, I am not sold on recommendations for KIA, Hyundai and Subaru. By the way, is there any justification for Honda CRV not being in this list? Do you really think that KIA, Hyundai or Subaru would be a better choice than Honda CRV?
This list comes from Consumer Reports and there is always a degree of controversy as to how CR rates vehicles. Overall, I think they bring a lot to the table but I wouldn't take their recommendations as the final word. I'm a fan of the CR-V but Kia and Hyundai keep upping their game. Although they may not have a perfect batting record in reliability (although overall it's improving with some notable recent blemishes), you have to weigh a vastly superior warranty into the equation. As for Subaru, I can't say I've heard much negative about Subarus when it comes to reliability.
@@auto_exclusive I don’t what do they look I have worked for Honda for 25 years now I’m with Kia, reliability cannot be matched with Honda/Acura. Kia has electronic and engines issue engines are on back order for up to 6 months no rentals no loaners what would customers do. I have at least 6 Sorentos wiring for the engines , Sportages K5 Seltos all have issues worst customer service across the board to the dealer. Oil change takes 3 hours. It’s worse
@@ammarsheikh7831 good info from someone on the inside. I really think that if reliability is your top priority, you really can’t go too wrong with a Honda or Toyota. If you stay on top of routine maintenance, you’ll likely have a relatively painless experience for 100, 150, or 200,000 miles or more.
@@auto_exclusive I have been driving Honda and Acura for the past 28 years. Thank you for the comment. Hyundai is the same way
Ufff no pusieron a la mejor de todas "Mitsubishi Outlander". Todas las anunciadas le copian a la reina Mitsubishi Outlander
I would steer clear of the fire risk Korean cars!
Kia are the worst. I had a Sportage and it was a problem right out of the dealer. Engine harness, check engine light, doors lock you out, funny smoke smell from under the hood. Tons of recalls. Run, run, run.
Rogue? They must be joking
Toyota Sheep boy is eveywhere these days
I bought a new 2021 Mazda CX-5. I believe the CX-50 has the same engine. It burns engine oil from day one. I looked up and found a bulletin for my car to be repaired. I took it in and they agreed that my car fell under that bulletin according to the VIN but, that I had to wait for the engine light to come on. By my calculation that won't happen until one oil change after my warranty is up. Don't take a chance and buy Mazdas. They don't stand by their product.
Wow, I almost bought that instead of leasing 2021 Tucson. Is this turbo? I always avoid turbo cars for complication issues. Honda & Toyotas hold up better but not bulletproof like naturally aspirated ones.
@@IQstrategy Yes it's a turbo. Your analysis on turbos is right on the money. This is my first Turbo and I'll never get another one.
@@lgsprings5623 The new Theta engine from Hyundai & Kia (even non turbo) has the same problem. GDI & other high tech stuff cuts the life of the engine down. I am slowly looking for 10+ yr aged Lexus, Acura, Toyota, Honda, etc... before my lease is over. I think those will last far longer than new high tech & $30k+ expensive cars & I can add collision avoidance, lane departure, rear camera, etc.. via the aftermarket. Oh, CVT is another piece of @#$% to avoid. To save 10% on gas & teens in horsepower (which I really don't need), no thanks!
@@IQstrategy Couldn't have said it better myself.
@@lgsprings5623 Did not realize that u were getting an ultra-modern HYBRID when u got the Turbo, as it burns not only gas but oil as well.
Mazda will likely be forced to recall, just like many others (Hyundai & Honda). So, stay hopeful & good luck.

Funny this channel does not mention CX-5 , the top pick for consumers reports .
It's not the channel....this was based on Consumer Reports rankings at the time of writing the video. CR is constantly reviewing vehicles and, thus, updating their ranking so their rankings are somewhat fluid.
@@auto_exclusive I realized that it was overall brand that won the award of top pick ....I stand corrected.
It's pretty similar to the CX-50, with the same drive train.

公平を期すならば純ガソリン車の衝突で火災の心配が無いのかという疑問は持つべきでしょう。残念ながら現状どれも不十分に見えます
Unless CRs recommendations are after 25-35K they are worthless
that really annoyes me about them I dont want to hear how reliable for the first 3 years I want to hear if they are reliable after 5 or 10 years my honda had over 130K miles on it

The only good one is the Mazda
I would probably have bought one, but I test drove a Dodge Hornet and found it was much more fun to drive than the Mazda, which is saying a lot!
Consumer reports has slipped in my opinion of all these vehicles only mazda and Subaru are worth buying
I may go for Tucson hybrid but turbo engine scares me a bit.......

Stay away from anything that says turbo
@@The8429 I once owned a Toyota Celica Turbo AWD, which was dead reliable and a blast to drive. They were so good, Toyota campaigned them in the World Rally Cup, which they won!
I presently own a 2010 Ford Flex (a large, three row crossover) with a twin turbo V-6 that has all kinds of power. It's turbos are rated for 100,000 miles or ten years service. I replaced one turbo last year, so it lasted 12 years which isn't too bad. If you wan't power in a smallish engine, turbocharging is the way to go.
The Rouge is slow it doesn't have a lot of power.
The only one of the bunch with any power is the Mazda turbo. The rest are all grocery getters.
Only no nonsense car in this segment is VW tiguan.
Who wants a no nonsense car? Sounds utterly boring to me.
As usual sound like a paid review, all those impressive options and then the base prices.
The video is intended to list the Top 7 Recommended Compact SUVs and provide a brief overview which naturally includes a few seconds on price...going into more detail on price based on options would defeat the pace the video is intended to have and likely turn-off many viewers.
And to be clear, never received a penny from anyone other than UA-cam for their advertising. I did try being an affiliate for Mint Mobile via a link in my descriptions but that never lead to a sale so didn't make anything there either.
stay off I 57 in LA CA....TOY Rav 4 is weak
CX-50 is NICE.. seems solid and good too. it's NOT designed to be a JEEP or anything like that-- the AWD is mostly for BAD WEATHER driving.. I like the RAV4-- but don't want a damn hybrid anything.. that's just asking for trouble... I like the Rogue too..if it had a bit more power-- don't want a turbo- that just wears out the engine faster... PRIME-- too MUCH worthless technology..unwelcome and unneeded- just MORE problems for a bit later--and I don' twant a HYBRID anything. Overall, it's good.. Don't want any KIA or hyundai anthing-- just JUNK- and it seems weird-- OTHER videos on here claiming to be Consumer Reports said to AVOID those vehicls and even some of these!!!! CONTRADICTORY information.... not good.

Kia junk
Consumer reports is biased, always has been so the video is junk...sorry
Have a better source for reliability? Don’t say JD Powers..
@@level7041 There are no reliable corporations. Just talk to mechanics and real people.
CR collects owners’ data and compiles it for up to 5 years. CR maybe biased but I found data is very valuable that no other source can provide.
For about 47 years starting 1975, I have been monitoring CR, C&D, MT, R&T, Automobiles etc . . . CR is consistent and true most of the time.
@@seikocitizenwatches Sounds like you have more data than I, however once the company was cited for giving higher ratings towards companies that funded them (this includes providing samples at no cost). I can not trust them. This was very true with household appliances. It was discovered in 2017 that truck of the year over and over, Honda Ridgeline (which is not even a truck) was found to have provided CR 15 vehicles which did not need to be returned. At the same time Nissan, Toyota and GM did not provide free vehicles and "surprisingly" scored low.
