  • First time shooting the Mathews wake bow after getting it tunned up and everything adjusted. Checking sight tape out to 70 yards. Knocking the dust of the Bows. Two months until archery season in Utah.

You made a great find. What a deal. My oldest bow I bought new is the Mathew’s MQ1. 20 years? I can’t remember. Still set up the way I did it so long ago. 60#’s @ 27 1/2”. I get it out and shoot a couple times a year. Whisker rest and an old Sonora 5 pin sight. The pins are actually straight sewing pins with the little heads cut off. Then the pins are dipped in fluorescent orange paint to make the tiniest ball which ends up being the diameter of the pin. The pins slip into separate holes that diameter. The holes are evenly spaced like at 1/8”. So it’s like top hole is 20, next hole down is 30, skip a hole, 4 th hole is like40 and so on. To be real close you may need to change draw weight and arrow weight. There were no sights built anything like today’s. But, I killed a lot of deer a couple antelope and a truck load of wild pigs. Bear Razor two blade heads on aluminum K- mart arrows. What a trip, lol
