- @Copwatchtv obtained body worn camera of the Albuquerque Police Department received a call about a "fake" Target employee going to area stores and requesting gaming consoles for other stores. Employees would give him the consoles and he would walk out of the store.
On this day, a loss prevention employee was able to stop the fake Target employee and police arrived.
They took the man into custody and at the substation he tried to get away.

What’s funny is being misdemeanor under $500 he woulda been booked and let out on pre trial with no bail. Probably woulda taken 2 hours 4 at most and given court date and set free no night in jail. And when court comes, maybe community service and restitution or 1 year probation and restitution. He ruined that. And if it was second arrest he woulda had maybe 1-5k bond so he or fam would only have to pay $100 to $500 for bail and still not stay a night in jail. Probably 1-2 year probation and community service with restitution. He ruined it. But cops should have told him all this. Not the best at deescalation

Because stiffer penalties like deportation to other countries, amputating hands, hangings etc totally stopped all crime didn’t it? 🤔 Oh wait… 🙄 It’s a far more complex issue than just “send them all to jail for long periods”. There are people who definitely need to have long jail terms, and if people blow their second chance then they shouldn’t keep letting them out on bond & suspended sentences but there are also places for diversionary programs & community service for some circumstances.
