  • Experience a 1970's bus ride on the 36 Miraloma through the Midtown Terrace neighborhood in San Francisco, California. The bus is a 1969 General Motors and was the primary fleet used by MUNI in the early to mid 70's. Enjoy the ride! (Excuse the shaky video, San Francisco streets are the worst)

i have always liked to ride the SAN FRANCISCO city and county buses, when ever i visit SAN FRANCISCO , i like the way the buses just simply climb and take complete control of san francisco streets, in a city where a person don"t need to own a car, SAN FRANCISCO COUNTY TRANSIT is there when you need them, thumbs up to a clean and very nice bus fleet,

I grew up in San Francisco in the 1950's and 1960's and frequently rode the 36 Miraloma. Judging from the passing cars and vehicles in this video, I doubt this was shot in the 1970's. The cars and vehicles are newer models from those in the 1970's.
Notice that the bus never picks up or drops off any passengers.

I did not know the 36 Miraloma went to midtown terrace but only the 36 Teresita. it was the 34 woodside which is also a defunct bus wrote like the 36 Miraloma. I saw it is as boy hiking up in Mt. Sutro forrest area on Cladenon ave. , but I never rode it. The 34 went to midtown terrace via Clarendon ave. . I think it was in the early 1980's when the 34 woodside merged with the 36 Miraloma to make the 36 Teresita.

Back when the 34 and 36 were separate lines the 36 looped Midtown Terrace and the 34 looped Forest Knolls... Clarendon was the dividing street between the two neighborhoods.
The other end of the 34 was at Myra and Dalewood, the foot of the path that led to to the cross on Mt Davidson. The 36 serves that old terminal now.
