love how the crowd just erupts when she sticks the dismount. By the way people complaining about her handstands, yes by today's standards they would be pretty bad, but back then handstand deductions were extremely lenient so this routine was actually a great set for the time.
She’s the reason I got started in gymnastics. Such a great gymnast. Truly underrated. She literally went to the Olympics three times. That’s not easy by any means.
Umm....the rules were different back then. The deductions for handstands were not as severe for handstands as they are now. So actually ther routine was great for the era in which it was performed.
But could you do any better? Hm....? guess not.. We should be proud of her and her olympic medals and such... if your gonna hate or attempt to tear her down.. push on #shame
@gymglitterxx I totally respect your commentary you know with you going to the Olympic games and winning gold and all... Wait.. Right! Take a seat! The awesome dawesome will always continue to inspire so take notes as well.
The only one of them who was competitive in 2000 was Chow. Dawes made the team in the last spot after Atler's meltdown at Trials. Miller was basically one of those also fighting for the last sport and alternate spot. Phelps competed earlier that year and was badly out of it by that point. Moceanu was also not even in contention for the team even before her WD from Trials.
If the 96 team were the 2000 team they don't even make the 6 team team finals. Phelps and Moceanu were scoring in the 8s for most of their routines early year. The only score Miller got over 9.3 for anymore her routines the first day of trials was bars. Dawes could not vault or tumble by 2000 and had low difficulty on beam. Strug could probably barely walk by then and Borden had retired in 98.

She's definitely not under rated by a long shot!!!
Even if we had social media during her time I don’t believe she would Not have plastered herself all over it. Mature & elegant!
