We had taken over many lands such as Syria, Isreal, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Some of Turkey and Iran. This is why many of us are in those countries even tho originally in Iraq. Over time, we make Christian as we were one of the first and that’s where we had many issues with Assyrian- Chaldean split where some orthodox some Catholic splitting us in 2.

Harry died in 1989. That liqour store your in front of, although in chaldeon town, not actually owned by Chaldeans. My family owned great fish and seafood that was next door to Bahi Kabob. If you from Detroit and talking about the Chaldeon mafia, then you should know what that is, and what it was used for. Jacob Yasso (with Youngs permission) actually gave Hussein the "key to the city" in Baghdad because Hussein donated a quarter million dollars to his sacret heart church. But the Chaldeon Mafia didnt like Hussein (for obvious reasons). Louis Akrawi (Harry's uncle) organized anti-Hussein protests outside Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 7mile between John r and Woodward use to be that spot!! Much love and respect to Bahi!! Food was ALLways on point!!

Chaldeans are 100% Iraqi people. They come from ancient Iraq(Mesopotamia). And there culture is Iraqi. There language is Iraqi which is called Aramaic and they also speak Arabic as there native language. They are not different from Iraqi Shia Muslims(Shia Islam). Chaldean just means Iraqi people who follow Christian religion. If for example an Iraqi Shia Muslim converted to Christian religion and joined the Chaldean catholic church or any Chaldean church then they would be called "Chaldean" not Shia Muslim. But they are Iraqi just like Iraqi Shia Muslims are Iraqi and other Iraqis from other religions. Same people but different religion and same Iraqi culture as well.

@@benjamind3058 And there is NO such thing as speaking Assyrian. Assyrian is a word that was created in the old days which means Iraqi people who follow the Orthodox Christian religion and Orthodox church. Just like Chaldean is NOT a race or a culture. Chaldean is also a word that means Iraqi people who follow the Catholic Christian religion and Catholic Christian church. For example, if an Iraqi person from the Sunni Muslim(Sunni Islam) religion converted to the Christian religion and joined the Assyrian Christian church or Chaldean Christian church he or she will be called Iraqi Assyrians and Iraqi Chaldeans. And Aramaic is the language that some Iraqi Assyrians and Iraqi Chaldeans speak. Aramaic is an old ancient Iraqi language that even Iraqi Sunni Muslims and Iraqi Shia Muslims used to speak in ancient Iraq. Arabic language developed from the Aramaic language in ancient times. @athmane1104 Рік тому

I would second Al Profit and say that's not true at all. Saddam didn't care about religion one way or the other as he was a secular Baathist (similar to Assad in Syria). There was not "preferential" treatment given to Christians during Saddam's reign, but he had a few Christians in his inner circle / governments. You have to understand that the likes of Tarek Aziz were staunch Baathists who were there with Saddam since the 60s, so it's understandable they stayed close to him after he ascended to power. Ordinary Christians had to endure the dictatorship and police state just like any other Iraqi citizen under Saddam's rule.

True. However, he earned the keys to Detroit from Mayor Coleman Young for paying for the Chaldean Church (forgot the name of it, been years since I been n USA) on 7 mile road in what was the Chaldean hub area of Detroit. Now, all the Chaldeans moved to Southfield first, than branched out to Sterling Heights, Troy and Birmingham, Bloomfield.
