    I struggled to show some textures in my painting and right after two examples I have new ideas. Thank you so much! 🙏 I always put new colours as a layer and then blend them into previous ones, it was tiresome because I had to correct contours every single time. I haven't thought about making lines at all! 😮 They are more precise so it would be easier to save contours 🙂

    Sorry for my ignorance, but What is “soubrette “? It looks like tissue paper. I love this technique.

      Polyfilla works fabulously. Once it has dried it is rock hard

      You can use cotton wool, or if you also want to paint it, then use texture paste

      Not at all, it becomes rock hard and sticks like crazy - you would have to chisel it off

      The video thumbnail is just a representative image to indicate texture.

    I really liked the video... very instructive. HOWEVER, you went over the names of the brushes quite fast... and with your accent (Aussie, Kiwi? ) I couldn't get them. Perhaps adding the names (words) onto the video? LG

      Here are the brush names used in each block, in order that I did the blocks:
      1 + 3 + 6) Rigger brush
      2 + 4) Soft filbert
      5) Standard bristle brush
      6) Soft filbert
      7) first bristle brush, then soft filbert to block in, then painting knife to lift
      8) first bristle brush, then soft filbert to block in the isopropyl alcohol
      9) painting knife
      10) Soft filbert
      11) Bristle brush & Cling Wrap
      12) Texture gel & soft filbert
      13) Texture gel, soft filbert & serviette / napkin
      14) hessian / jute
      15) Texture gel, soft filbert & sea sand
      16) Texture paste, painting knife & soft filbert
      17) texture paste & Sticks
      18) Soft filbert
      19) Painting knife
      20) Soft filbert
