One of my favorite bands. Saw them at Underground Railroad (RIP) in Morgantown, WV in late 80's. Bought everything. Burgler got it all.... Love the harmonies. Love the odd musical styles. Loved everything about it.
One of their best songs. Thank you for posting this. Your video is artfully done. This was one of the best bands in history, in my opinion. They used to do a cover of CECILIA, that was a vast improvement over the already great original.
Saw them at New Guild co-op--had no clue how it would embed itself in my consciousness. There was a a band called Salem Tree that put out the same vibe.
That would be Kathy McCarty, aka K McCarty. I highly recommend her album of Daniel Johnston covers, Dead Dog's Eyeball. (It also features Brian Beattie, her co-lead in Glass Eye, on a multitude of instruments, backing vocals, and co-producing the album.) Glass Eye's 2nd album Bent By Nature is an excellent introduction to the band. It alternates more serious songs (with McCarty on lead vocals and Brian Beattie harmonizing) with sillier (lyrically) yet no less intriguing songs with Beattie on lead and McCarty on harmony. Their voices are really distinct individually, and quite wonderful together.

I just opened for Kathy’s solo show last night. She was fantastic.

Saw them in Madison WI in 87 or 88. Fantastic. Back when Austin was still weird.
Loved this band back in the late eighties. I booked them to play a show at UW-La Crosse once. Made them dinner. Good people.

Boy, they were a great band, out of Austin. They also did a ass-stomping rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's "Cecilia" that I think you'd dig.
