Thank you. I contacted Lifan and explained my throttle issue on my new bike. that "hesitation" as you called it. They promptly sent me their shipping address (same one you gave) and I sent my esu/efi module to them last Tuesday, Cost about 10 bucks to ship. Got it back from them today, they did not charge me a penny. Not sure what they they changes but the bike is awesome. No hesitation, no quick throttle pop and die at low rpm, the idle is a tad higher maybe 200rpm and is very smooth now. I did mention to them that I was at low altitude and not sure if it was running lean before but the smell from the exhaust is gone now.
Ya I'm loving that they are actually working with owners after purchase . They've made a fan out of me.
Thank you so much for this! Your channel is incredibly helpful brother. Still hoping to see you do valve adjustments tho ;) I bought the special wrench and it's still a pain! Done it twice so far. About 1250 miles on mine and riding daily as my commuter in south Florida. Enjoying the bike a lot so far
You should be good for awhile then! I did mine but was so annoyed I didn't video it :P. I'll video it when I do my buddy's bike.
@@dadbodbikers this bike is still new to me. I have a little over a hundred miles. When and why is a valve adjustment necessary? Please and thank you!
@@Fctsdntcarebouturfeelings often, the Chinese motorcycles are shipped with valves too tight.. particularly the lower quality bikes. Ours weren't far off when checking . But it's worth doing to maximize horsepower and longevity. No harm in waiting until it has a few hundred miles if it's running good to check them.
The motor is relatively quiet mechanically.. I'll wait for the tappitty tapp tapp first.. This Lifan 250 engine/transmission is a jewel, I bet it lasts better than most. If not the entire engine/transmission is like $700.. new from Lifan.
@@markhall3434 I think not having the tappity tappity is the issue. When adjusted correctly, my lifan xpect engine gives me the tappity tappity.
Got about 800 miles on mine.. the list of Mods is Very Long.. turning it 17x120 Front /17x160 rear Super Moto. Dropped the rear 4", the Front 2".. Looking for another inch or two on the front. Currently sitting at a 32" seat height with stock 21/18 wheels but street tires. made ALL the difference. The much shortened kick stand drags now, but easy fix to come.
The Power on my KPX just keeps climbing! The torque is way up from initial. I diddled the throttle body idle stop screw to give it another 200ish RPM at idle and a bit more torque for parking lot maneuvers w/o slipping clutch. Clutch and Throttle cable routing and slack is critical to precision clutch and throttle control. I only keep 93 octane around so it gets that. Wide open in 5th is darn good now.. I would say power (Torque!) is up 25% since new.. Break in it would seem?
It definitely breaks in a little.. it'll never be a 2 stroke but it has enough power to do all the things I want to do :)
I'd be interested in your tires and whatever you had to do to make them fit. We've had a few riders ask about super moto setups - kyle@kpx250.com
I have a brand new KPX 250 also with 300 miles on it. As others have said, mine will stall out every now and then. Did you have any stall issues and if you did, do you have a solution for it? Still breaking mine in and I don't go over 5,000 rpm so being gentle with it. The bike runs great, no hesitation with the throttle, just stalls occasionally when stopped at a light waiting for the green.
@@Kevin-mm6xm yep, the remap would help that. No issues like that since we've remapped all of our bikes.
@@kylestanford6343 I understand the 24's (mine is 03/24) have been remapped at the factory. I've seen others online who still stall after remapping. I'll have to contact Venom and see what gives.
@@Kevin-mm6xm Should have been remapped, but it's worth asking venom/lifan.
Unfortunately, I had the same throttle position problem with my ECU and I sent it in. They did send back an ECU (I didn't mark mine that I sent in so I'm not sure if i got my same one back). The one they sent back seems worse than the one we sent in. Twisting the throttle a small amount causes the engine to drop out in any gear or at idle. I'll try again with them....
Definitely sounds like your tps isn't quite positioned right.
@@dadbodbikers Is there a specific adjustment parameter to get it just right? I can see there is a slot on it so it can be turned some.
@@stephenlnoe just adjust it each direction to see if it gets better.. there's no perfect measurement.. I can take a picture of one of mine
Change the exhaust, to a free flow one! Also change the air filter. My one tops at 87 mph
Did you remap your EFI when doing that. What exhaust did you use? 87 on the speedo ro gps?
Did you remap the ecu after?
@@dadbodbikers i imported it from Indonesia. Exhaust - Norifumi torq, which cost me 300$
You can fit one, which is easily available to you. Yes yes! I retuned the ecu! From Rasel Industries. They produces Lifan bikes locally
@@inhumanfilth681 You have to have a lot of patience. You have to retune the ecu again and again. sometimes I felt like dropping the bike.
@@dadbodbikers exhaust -(Norifumi torq)
Imported from Thailand 300$ only
Does it seem to run a little less lean? Seems like it has a little more Brraapp if that makes sense
I would assume but they haven't given a straight answer on exactly what they changed.
Is it possible to take the baffle out of the exhaust?
haven't tried.. someone else.might have by now.
@@dadbodbikersMaybe but not that I've seen on UA-cam . Have you tried to do an exhaust swap out ? Can you try to do a vid on a swap maybe ?
@@st3v3n_j12 I've got a line on a few and am just trying to do it the right way (with adjusted mapping). It may take some time.
Where do you guys ride at? I have a tbr7 as well
All over north Georgia and sometimes TN and NC.
@@dadbodbikers nice, I’m pretty close to the TN state line in Kentucky
@@Highvoltage2332 We just did a 850 mile trip all the way up into Kentucky on these bikes: ua-cam.com/video/auOL4U3G-8A/v-deo.html
@@dadbodbikers that’s awesome! What part did you make it to? I’m around the Williamsburg Corbin area
@@Highvoltage2332 we stayed in Daniel Boone national forest one night...then campbellsville.. then did makers mark distillery on our off day before cannonballing home 370 miles in one day :)
