    Who writes the story and why matters. You've shown that once again.
    After loosing my appetite for magical thinking, it's information and research like this that revives the old stories and gives them meaning again. I'll never get tired of listening to you and dr Josh.

    Thank you Meghan!
    would you guys consider doing as a Patreon project a video series on the Prophecies.
    I saw Josh's great interview with Aron Ra on the Daniel prophecy and the other one he did on his channel.
    That was good. But him being interviewed was even better,
    To make a series of 10 or 15 minute long video's.
    I would chip in :)

      So far have done just one time donation.
      But now will consider becoming a Patreon!

      God myths have been manipulating mankind for millennium.

    A 43-year reign is indeed notable; notably short, that is. It's barely a blink of the eye compared to the 43,200-year reign of En-men-lu-ana in the Sumerian king list.

    Hi, I'm not a scholar by any means but I was wondering if it was possible that when you said that it was Megasthenes who was quoted by Josephus as saying that Nebuchadnezzar subjugated and relocated that populations of Iberia that he was not referring to the Iberian peninsula and referring to the Kingdom of Iberia (located in the Caucasus right next to Caucasian Albania. Why do these names exist for the love of God?). I would guess that Josephus could have been using Iberia as a modern term at the time for that region. I don't know if Megasthenes would have used that name in his time. I'm not saying that's how it is, just wondering if anyone knew because I am definitely not a professional.

    • @DigitalHammurabi
      @DigitalHammurabi  5 років тому +2

      That’s a great question! From what I understand, Megasthenes was actually saying that the reason there’s an Iberia in the Caucasus is because Nebuchadnezzar deported people from the Iberian peninsula to the Caucasus. Kind of like how European immigrants settled in the USA and named their settlements after the places they’d emigrated from.

      @ShadeyBladey Why ask me, that is not my area of expertise. It is true that Assyria conquered the Phoenician homeland, Israel, Judah and at least part of Lower Egypt. Whether the Phoenician colonies recognized Assyrian sovereignty is questionable as is the claim the Assyria conquered all of Iberia [i.e. current Spain and Portugal]. You would be better advised to ask @Digital Hammurabi if there are any cuneiform records from Phoenician colonies in Spain or, especially, Carthage acknowledging Assyrian overlordship.

    • @DigitalHammurabi
      @DigitalHammurabi  5 років тому

      Oh it definitely is - Nebuchadnezzar most certainly did not make it to Spain!
