I honestly think i could see a SoT without long-form voyages
i just dont understand why they put effort into it at all. just leave them alone and make a new type thats shorter for people who want shorter ones

I like almost all of them, only not a fan of the cargo runs, but i can easily avoid them.

Aren’t those just the normal sloop cannons in the season 11 photo? It looks like it is from the perspective of the quest table with both the window and mast removed. RIP sloop being able to sail in season 11.

I think that the whole voyage situation is very delicate, because it is such a *important* part of the game and yet because so little has been done to them over the years it feels really outdated, so im glad that they are doing something about it, but im also a little scared that it might not be that great.

Im keen to see the changes from voyages, as they are a way to make you explore the all the islands not just sail around them .
Sorry to break in to Everyone that would be hype for the "chase canon" but that not happening Mike Chapman did confirm on twitter that they just change the layout of the ship so you can see the New canon cosmetic the ship Will stay the same at least for now he also Say "never Say never" so idk maybe in a future update

honestly i think itll be fun, what im hoping is that they do give a way to get profitable long sessions, whether its profit in gold, or in just a fun game, but being able to do a quick 20-30 minute adventure and be done, but also be able to have those 8+ hour sessions but with more action, and more things to do
In terms of the voyage removal, itll be a mixed bag. What about skull of destiny? The map board?
I do personally think theres a main reason for why theyre removing quests. Saving up space for the servers. But if itll he polished, only time will tell.

I really appreciate the conciseness of the video, there wasn’t any unnecessary fluff and I like that. As for voyages, I think the more options the better. I’ve been loving the fortresses because they are easy to do as a solo slooper and only take fifteen minutes minutes to do if you are efficient. Another thing I would like to see is buried loot persisting across servers, where the maps to the loot last just a few minutes after the players log off. That way if a server is lively, you can bury the expensive loot, fight to sell the cheaper stuff, and sell the expensive stuff at a later session.
I personally hope they keep some voyages. I'm a solo slooper. Voyages are my go to. 😊

The thing is not a lot of people are playing voyages (including myself) because of the massive restrictions they put on it. Just take the restrictions away. It will not "divide the playerbase" because the people that don't want to PvP aren't playing the game in the first place.
I hope this streamlines and focuses some of the voyages, hopefully not making the experience too tedious by removing player choice in it all.
Also excited for the chase cannons!

I remember beginning in sea of thieves a few years ago. Voyages were my favorite thing when I didn't understand the world events. They give me and my friends a sense of direction and there is just a vibe that I feel from completing voyages back then that I just cannot explain. I haven't done voyages except helping other crews in over a year but I am going to miss them

I am a little bit confused, is it the adventures getting removed, not the voyages? But even so, instead of removing them entirely, why not relegate them after their peak to the Safer Seas, freeing up the main live server? So the adventure/quest is not entirely lost.

I hope the skull of destiny and the voyage we got for christmas doesn’t go away as I haven’t had a chance to do it yet!
Personally i think the removal of the limited time voyages could go either way, for instance in my crew the main reason many of us stopped playing was due to the time needed for a productive session and how much undivided attention is needed for sot in general, many of us have other responsibilities such as kids, or pets, or even just work and family stuff in general which of course takes priorty to games, and being able to hop on for a shorter time n being able to get loot, and then get off the game, is a nice addition, with that being said, a few of our crew are hardcore sot players, and would prefer to keep those longer voyages, mainly to be have the chance to take the loot from other crews, and like with most games that eventually cater to more casual, or newer players, the more seasoned members of the fanbase will naturally have an issue simply because the game is changing. I am excited tocsee what happens to sot in the future though.

Honestly, voyages were just a niche that was cool at first. And I’m speaking from a relatively newer experience as someone with only 300 hours. When I first started doing them they were cool, like hunting down ghost ships or digging up buried treasure. They quickly became monotony and were forgotten in lieu of chasing world events like FOF and FOTD.
Would you count A gilded athena voyage as one that would disappear now or?
Yes if you cant get it on a regular basis you better get it done now

So I actually have to do my four and a half year old voyages for the powder kegs I'm sentimental but I'm not stupid
It’s all dependent on how we obtain or do said voyages in season 11 that will influence my opinion on it, if you can slap down a voyage on the captain’s table without having to purchase from the specific vendors that would be interesting, I never liked the limit on voyages you can hold on too 👌😂 I have a hopeful outlook on the future of sea of thieves 😅

Honestly the removal of voyages of any kind (since they are the BEST way to lvl up with any particular Faction) just seems like one more step towards "We don't ever want anyone to enjoy this game solo, EVER". I mean, look at how every world event makes you visible to the entire map or flat out puts a big beacon on top of your head literally. It's becoming more and more evident that they are trying to exclude and punish solo gamers and pve players. And it's really starting to border on "obvioisly intentional".

I think it entirely depends on what takes the place of the removed stuff, if the system that replaces the current one is easier to understand for newer players I think that'll be a good thing. One piece that I'd personally like to see is having all the different voyages in one spot, which will especially benefit newer players as they won't need to run all over the outpost just to figure out something to do.

I hope they keep voyages and Id be sad to have to go down to the legends hideout again to buy voyages. It was so much more convenient to just buy them from the shipwright.

I am against because I play the game solo on safer seas and I enjoy the merchant, chests and skull voyages, I wish though they would remove skeleton ships from safer seas because it just seems impossible to sink them on your own

It would be pretty cool to have voyages like the siren head ones, but I’m afraid that it could be simply ignored…. It happened when I was grinding the siren head, almost no one bothered me, so I almost didn’t pvp in these voyages

I would be disappointed to see voyages just disappear because I’m only ever solo sloop’n and I’ve always hoped I’d have a crew mate to voyage with. Having said that it ain’t happened yet and as such I haven’t done a voyage in quite a long time. As a solo slooper I just never feel like I have that kind of time to commit to a session while also painting the target on my back. So anything that would make my island hopping and Lo-Hi merchant runs (AND HUNTERS CALL WORK!) more lucrative would probably be a better thing overall. Fingers crossed for a happy medium. I guess.
My friend played sea of theives for like last 2-3 years so has sails and stuff from the alpha beta game and voyages he been saving so if it suddenly deletes them he will probably never play again.

I Like the Idea of removing voyages. Skull of siren song sounded so nice but was so empty in the end. I think there still is potential so we’ll see!

I always hated that voyages were not saved. If I start an Athena let me go to port, turn in whatever loot I have and save my progress so I can get back to it the next day. I don't have 1-4hours of regular uninterrupted time to complete the full thing in one sitting and heaven forbid I d/c. Now they started making more athena rep items so I can start one, play till I need to make dinner or whatever and have gained some rep but it does change the fact that I am not able to get that athena chest. What I want to see is a more bit sized but still earned progression for quests/voyages. Let me earn tokens or something for everyone order of souls quest I complete, ever merchant delivery and gold holder quest. Then let me use those tokens to buy a Athen run, imagine saving up enough tokens over a few weeks of short seasons with just you and 1+ athena map in hand.
I know the fundamental issue is they have a reward v risk issue. People don't want to risk losing hours of progress so they are not fighting and the people with nothing on their boat are sailing around hopefully to catch someone off guard to save hours of effort. They need boats to have more value without loot on them (emissary+) but more than that they need people wanting loot but not so hard up for it that they will risk what they have to steal from another crew. Else they really need to go and make PVE servers and take the world events up a few notches. I think with the time it takes to get around the map the better bet is to start looking at how you make more PVE content that matches will with the PvP elements. Making this take longer to increase the chance of PvP happening just makes people more risk avers.

If I were to give my onset opinion I it while it is sad to see voyages and voting on that table and seeing the epic music go. Playing a grand new mini almost story begins, I do feel like as more and more changes are coming into the game voyages them selves as a whole are becoming more and more obsolete just like how rare saw arena as a now obsolete way to start pvp, especially with the fact that they new as they were removing that hourglass was incoming and it’s just the same here thing but with voyages they have gotten real old and obsolete so rare is taking action and shaking it up a little which I’m all for. Also SHROUDED GHOST LETS GOOOOO I use to farm shores of gold to try and get it before emissary’s were a thing pretty cool

I've been holding on to a free destiny skull voyage, and most importantly 2 Gildeds from last year. Never got to doing them and it seems to me like an idiot move to just wipe them from my inventory. Brings me even less reason to come back to this sinkhole of a game. Feels to me that Rare is only focusing new players and making sot irrelevant for those of us who have already played lots.
In a returning player from 3+ years ago and a little lost with all the new things in the game.

Voyages are an iconic part of the game. I think they deserve a rework and not a complete removal. Make them more unique and rewarding.
