This was one of the most brutal battles Death Battle ever made.
Homelander's death was one of the bloodiest, but considering how much of an a-hole he is, I think it's safe to say that it's rather deserving.
Understatement of the millennium.
It is not the bloodiest but it feels like it. In hulk vs doomsday there is more blood but it's green and in sabrewulf vs jon talbain we can't see the blood on Sabrewulf and his wounds but we can exactly see what happened to Homie Lander

You're right, though. There are some battles with more blood in them, like the ones you mentioned. I'm not sure if you wanna add this one to the list, but Ganon Vs. Dracula at the end when Drac rips Ganondorf in half and blood was spilling out.

The animated segments in Homelander's analysis are actually from a more recent animated series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which was an anthology series of different animation styles telling different stories within the universe of The Boys. The episode they pulled from here is essentially the show's version of Homelander's origin, since the show diverges from the comic in many ways.
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes in the show. It portrayed the characters really well in the fight and the death was really gruesome. One of my favorite moments in the animation is when Nolan goes in for the kill specifically after Homelander threatens to kill Mark. Great reaction Ris.
Being someone who has read the entire Invincible series three times over it’s funny to see Omni-Man characterized solely based on the show. Don’t get me wrong the show is accurate but only covers roughly the first 12 issues of the comic which ran for 144 issues. Nolan is a much more dynamic character than the “evil Superman” trope we have seen so far. All this is to say if you haven’t read the comic, do it! The Boys comic low key sucks though.
They gave him some feats from comic too, but I think they just wanted to keep spoilers to a minimum
Part of it was probably avoiding spoilers, also if he’s still living in the house it’s either early Nolan as we know him in the show or a “much” (relatively speaking) later Nolan who is significantly stronger. They were giving Homelander every advantage and every benefit of the doubt, just to prove how outmatched he was.
YESS! I've been waiting for this episode! I love how Omni-Man was just toying with Homelander the entire time, until he mentioned his son, and then he was like "Alright, you've gone too far. You will die now." 😂
Ah, the Viltrumite Hearing Weakness. Viltrumites are only weak against certain frequencies of sound, and NOT weak against ordinary loud noises. To hurt a Viltrumite using sound, you must find just the right resonance to disrupt their inner ear, anything else, and you'll just piss them off.
That makes it even more of a stomp then!
If it's going to be a one-sided battle, it should at least have some good stats and a good story to the fight. This 100% delivered. I would give other examples, but, erm, spoilers.
Another fun stomp that Ris has already seen is Machamp vs Goro
it takes about a month for viltrumites to fully heal from bad injuries such as being disemboweled. as long as his heart and brain are still in his body and not damaged, there is a strong possibility that they’ll live
This fight probably has my favorite music of this season so far.

Yeah, the fact that is one was somewhat spoiled for you probably doesn't matter that much.... when this was announced EVERYONE knew who the winner was going to be. Even the twitter accounts for both shows weighed in saying "So, Omni-Man's got this right?", and well.... you see how much of a curb stomp this was. The animation didn't even try to make it seemed balanced.
I absolutely love this Death Battle because of just how it ends for Homelander. His strength, speed, and heat vision meant nothing. His only decent weapon against Omni-Man was his super scream. He was literally an angry little boy using the only thing he had left to try and hold someone back.

So yeah, this was a god stomp for Omni-Man and this was before SpongeBob VS Aquaman which would top this one later on, but the thing is, Omni-Man was holding back cause that first punch to Homelander should've killed him but once Homelander threatened to kill Mark, yeah that's when Omni-Man decided to finish the fight with the promise that he made to Homelander before they started fighting.
Next Time with Magneto and Tetsuo from Akira, do you recall in your reaction to Akuma VS Shao Kahn like when Korra VS Storm got revealed for you that I mentioned that we would get another Omega Level Mutant sometime in Season 9? Well Magneto is that Omega Level Mutant like once you learn of what he can do with his powers as in just the comics alone, you'll know why he is an Omega Level Mutant just like Cable and Storm before him.
But with that, see ya next week for the battle between two telekinetic revolutionaries.
Oh, just a warning before I go, Gogeta VS Vegito is not airing this weekend as it is airing on December 20th for First Members and December 21st for UA-cam, just though I bring this up right away.
fun fact: in the comics, there was one man homelander was terrified of: james stillwell. stillwell was a high ranking executive in vought and the only person in the world totally unafraid of homelander. not because he had superpowers himself or a secret plan to kill him or anything of the sort. stillwell was just a evil bastard who didn't take any of HL's shit.
I haven't even started watching yet and I have to say the thumbnail is _perfect_

Also,to anyone who reads this, feel free to tell me which one of the MUs you like and would like to see happen.
Edit: Also, I doubt anybody's gonna read this bit, but this is my favorite episode of the season, and maybe my favorite episode of the whole show. It's at least competing with Ganondorf vs Dracula and DIO vs Alucard for my favorite episode of the whole show.

I just want Galactus vs Unicron. It’s been almost 10 years since they said they were going to do that one. At this point I don’t even care who wins, I just want to see it.
Ris, this was one of the most brutal endings, up there with Goro vs Machamp on how bloody and savage it was. But that makes it stand out. Also, not going to lie, the episode did make me curious about Omni-Man. The one thing that still baffles me, though, is why they brought up Homelander killing someone by nutting. That seemed so out of left field.
I'm team Ori vs. The Knight for 2D and Cole vs. Alex for 3D! But I'd be stupidly hyped for any of them to get made, so I'm already happy!

What's funny is that this episode was made around Christmas last year hence the Christmas setting. But the episode came out on May 23. But you're watching on December which works for the Christmas setting

Fun fact:pretty much everyone when it once announced knew that omni man would beat homelander and everyone was okay with it because homelander is so unlikable

In the comics, forgive me if I’m wrong cuz it’s been a minute since I read them but I’m pretty sure mark saw Nolan murder the guardians of the globe, the show added the whole murder mystery part, and yeah, mark definitely made Nolan more human, not completely human at all but definitely more human
Hope you would get into The Boys if you actually find the series interesting after this. It's a shame that the Death Battle episode ruined your first impression of the show. The show is more than just a simple "What if superheroes are assholes?" scenario. Superheroes are pretty much just placeholders celebrities, athletes, etc.

If it makes you feel any better, having the winner of this episode spoiled for you isn't that bad, because pretty much _everybody_ knew that was going to be an absolute stomp when it was announced. They even buffed Homelander for the fight and it still wasn't even close.
But that doesn't matter, because Homelander is such a heartless prick that the idea of watching someone hilariously out of his league beat the shit out of him is so, _so_ special.
Generally they'll go into the original source material lik the comics and manga but they'll try to avoid spoiling where the shows and animes go for the audience

A lot of deconstructions of superheroes fall flat for me because they're not really dealing with actual superheroes so much as supervillains pretending to be superheroes.
Omni-Man is technically a superhero.
@@alfredosaint-jean9660 Yes, but he doesn't have the attitude. My point is that to properly deconstruct superheroes you'd need to have someone who acts likes a superhero for the reasons why superheroes act and then examine some potential negative consequences of that. Watchman for instance.

@@alfredosaint-jean9660 It would depend. A deconstruction involves taking the premises of a genre and examining how they might play out. So a superhero not acting like superhero might be a deconstruction or might just be a rubbish superhero, it would depend on why they are doing it.
That's why Spider-Man is the best to ever do superhero deconstruction. A kid with real-life problems being a superhero and having to juggle responsibilities in both of his identities? It is impossible to understate how revolutionary that was back in the day.

for your commentary on Omni-Man's recuperation after fighting the Guardians of the Globe, i kinda figure he was faking it. intentionally making his healing factor not work so he can put on a show of him singlehandedly "defending" the earth. gaining sympathy with the general public all so he can turn around and screw everything over with the attitude of "i wasn't even using my full strength"

As much as a stomp this death battle is, and just about everyone knew that when it was reveled, everyone, at least from what I saw, was ok with it, as because it's Homelander
