This threat does actually scares Homelander before he plays it off thinking Nolan is bluffing. >Nolan gets the first strike and then unleashes a very nasty combo on Homelander, giving him literally no time or room to respond. You can see that he tried to fire his lasers at Nolan but instead of trying to block or dodge out of the way, Nolan kept just beating that asshole, knowing that the laser has too long of a buildup to be used in a close quarters combat. He literally knows Homelander's powers better than he himself does. >He throws him at the table like a trash, and pauses the beating only to mock Homelander for having such a stupid motive. >Homelander finally gets a hit on Nolan... which he absolutely allowed as he doesn't even try to dodge it out of the way. The tackle combined with road rush and gas tanker explosion doesn't even scratch Nolan, and when the tanker explodes, its Homelander that is launched into the air, implying Nolan just straight up ignored the explosion and used the burst as a way to get another free hit on the biggest fictional asshole. >He mocks Homelander's fighting style, pointing out how he fights like a kid, and draws the first blood to terror of Homelander. >The only real moments in which Homelander got any form of small advantage was using his super voice... but it made Nolan only slightly staggered. Aka: the only moment in which Homelander was given any illusion of the edge in this battle was when he was throwing a tantrum and Nolan was simply unprepared for a grown ass man to just start doing so. >He just tanks the eye lasers before executing Homelander in a very brutal fashion, not only is the execution method chilling and Gory, but do notice what is the last thing that Homelander get's to see before he dies: Nolan looking him dead in the eyes, with the same eyes that Homelander tried to fry by using as much power as possible. Nolan basically made sure that even in his dying moment, Homelander would be denied a single thought of achieving anything in this battle. Him looking him into the eyes was basically "that's right, not even that was able to hurt me". >This is a kind of a horror moment but according to some rumors, if you listen closely to the final gurgling noises that Homelander makes before his head is crushed, its sounds like he is begging Nolan to stop, with voice actor delivering an incredibly muffled "NOLAN PLEASE---" Verdict: It wasn't a battle, it was an execution. Ha! Yup, and he deserved every second of it. Would've been better if he got this kinda beating from more genuine heroes like Superman, Captain America, All Might or Deku
This is one of the few instances where a fight being one-sided works so damn well. Both combatants are monsters but one is arguably worse than the other, and _that_ one gets fucking destroyed, allowing for a great catharsis. Honestly, I've had a problem with some of the Death Battle episodes where characters who are nicer and come from more violence-light media have unnecessarily gruesome and horrific deaths instead of a clean, quick one to settle the match. Those cases just seemed like needlessly bloody deaths for the sake of the title of the show. We wanna know which characters we love would win against who, but we, (or probably more precisely, I), don't really like seeing characters I like being violently and gruesomely killed. Plus, production wise, I think this is one of Death Battle's best episodes in a _long_ while. Most of the recent ones have been pretty "meh" for me, whereas this one delivered big time.
Some may argue that Nolan killed more people. The issue is he didn't hold our moral system until he came to earth and lived a human life. Basically he didn't know any better, and he then changed the ways of his people. Homelander KNOWS the shit he does is wrong, he just doesn't care since all he cares about is personal power.

Black Noir's name is, strictly speaking, a bilingual double negative. However, "noir" is also the term for the Hollywood B&W hard-boiled detective movies circa 1940s, and it's often applied to how Batman is presented in comics and some movies. Since Black Noir is kind of The Boys' Batman analogue, it works.

Both have also sought others for their goals (Magneto attempts to recruit other Mutants to his cause whilst Tetsuo seeks out Akira) and have ruled over large domains of land they reformed into factions (Genosha and the Great Tokyo Empire, respectively). Tetsuo's abilities are telekinesis (on objects and himself), teleportation, mind reading and force field that allow him to survive in space. After his arm is blown off by the SOL satellite weapon, he uses technopathy to form a prosthetic. Eventually, he learns to manipulate and block light. When fighting Kei, he produces a powerful blast of psionic energy yet unrefined as it split off in multiple directions. He is also technically capable of resurrecting someone: when Kaori was shot dead, he was able to bring her back to a semblance of life, but she was blind, deaf and in agony, so he let her die again.

It should be noted, Nolan (Omni-Man) actually DID care about Debbie; he only claimed that he thought of her as a pet to try and convince himself that what he was doing was right. 'Course, even if he legitimately thought of her as a pet, how would you react if someone hurt or killed *your* pet(s) like Homelander did to Debbie, right?
There's not actually that much gore in the Invincible show. Most of it is at the end of the first and last episode, and it is used to emphasize the dramatic impact of scenes rather than just as shock value.
While it may not be as pronounced as the Boys to say there's no gore in invincible except two episodes. His homie was turned into a robot the ReAnimen of I remember correctly a bunch of em were brutally killed. Js
To Answer your question about Black Noir yes Noir means Black in French , he's meant to be a commentary that people will follow something if the name is cool without knowing the actual meaning
It may have been one sided, but man, this was so satisfying to watch for me, especially seeing a dirt bag like Homelander get what's coming to him. As someone who watched The Boys and Invincible on Amazon Prime, this is up there as one of my favorite DEATH BATTLE!s, despite its short length. Honestly, I think they put... that feat just to fill up time. Still can't believe they actually calculated... that.
Yeah in Episode 1 it starts normally but the last 5 minutes turn the entire series ON ITS HEAD when Omni-Man reveals what level of murderer he can become
idk but watching you cringe at the violence is so entertaining especially knowing what was coming next XD. so sorry you had to see all that tho. Also I agree, Brandon Yates' songs go hard
The most relatable example of why Omniman outclasses Homelander I can think of is this: Omni-man can apparently catch and deflect asteroids the size of texas while in outer space. Homelander CANNOT keep a modestly sized passenger aircraft in the sky under his own power. This matters a ton too because all that muscle power they have to use? They got to push off of something to deliver punches and strikes. And ye olde ground isnt going to stand up for much of that under their feet if they try to use basic dirt as their leverage point. No they have to use their flight ability to effectively push off against whatever force lets them fly. As a result the maximum power they can put in a punch is capped by the 'strength' of their flight power and, as stated above, Omni-man utterly humiliates Homelander in this department and all others except for having heat vision. (there is really no reason why Omni-man could not simply shout really really loud like Homelander does, it just wouldnt be a particularly useful weapon most of the time other than to clear out mundane foes which is already too easy a task. Plus he can just clap his hands for an instant shockwave or such if he needs to for that kind of thing, no need to raise his tone of voice when that dark dank dad voice of his is a lethal weapon of its own.
@RooByrne There's a difference between him being able to lift (and toss) an airplane while on the ground and being able to lift one while flying. Basically Homelander's body can generate a lot more force than what his flight ability is able to match. Thus while he can push off of the ground and thus raise that much mass... His flight ability apparently cannot which puts a hard cap on how much power he can put in his punches. This is because while in the air? he can only punch as hard as his flight power lets him push off with. While on the ground? Only as much power as the ground beneath him can take without simply sliding apart under his feet. Omniman meanwhile can put vastly more force into his flight power, which gives him a massive, unbeatable advantage in terms of how much force he can pack into a punch or how much he can lift while in the air or outer space. This is actually important because without this he could never put enough power behind his hand to, for example, punch clean through Homelander's ribcage/chest to grab his heart and yank that sucker back out. In fact Homelander could never actually harm Omniman because neither the ground nor his flight power could support the insane levels of force required to actually pierce or damage Omniman's body even if Homelander was somehow theoretically capable of supporting that level of force with his body (which he cannot, he is the big fish in the small pond here).
@12:40 - Yeah, Superman & Lois can successfully "get busy." Just because Homelander didn't have any real self-control or self-discipline doesn't mean that Omni-man (who did have a child with a human woman) doesn't. Homelander doesn't care about anyone but himself, but even Omni-Man, with hundreds of years of advanced warrior training & experience, has proven that self-discipline works. IF Omni-Man could do it, then Superman (with a far more compassionate & selfless upbringing) can do it too. The biggest danger is if the unborn baby begins manifesting its power even before birth...A single super-strength kick from the inside could kill a human woman.
If I wasn't so desensitized to human suffering due to Mortal kombat, Berserk and Fist of the north star, this DB episode probably would've completely traumatized me.
I already pre-ordered The Boys Seasons 1 and 2 Collection on Blu-ray. As for this Death Battle, it was like taking Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe to a whole new level of extreme violence and I'm all for it!
Do you want to know the most messed thing about this match, it doesn't have the biggest body count of civilian casualties in death battle. That would go to Beerus vs Galaxia or Hulk vs Broly.
The big mistake Omni-Man made with trying to conquer Earth was, well, that he got too attached (as much as he might try to say otherwise). You can see it in how he behaves; he actually enjoyed being the hero more than his real job and didn't really go off the deep end until everybody figured out he killed the Guardians. Even then he eventually gave up the fight against his son and left. But yeah, pretty much everyone agreed this would not even be close. Anyone who even had a mild knowledge of these characters knew the difference between them was just too vast; Homelander was pretty much an insect trying to bring down a freaking moon.
@@UA-camChannel-lk8hc while it's been a while since I watched the show, when she found out that Mark was invincible the first thing she did was antagonize him for never being there for her specifically. people don't like her because she's just really unlikeable
Amber, I know you’ll side with Magneto, and I strongly agree you should, but there’s one ability for Tetsuo that you shouldn’t take seriously, it’s around the end segment. I’m not spoiling, I’m just letting you know that since you have a winning streak right now
will never understand why onesidedness is treated as a blanket negative for matchups. There are cases where it is, but with MUs like this it is upweighed more than enough by everything else. It's not like it's called Death Debate, it's called Death Battle. It's really not the kind of problem people say. What kind of story you can show by analyzing them side by side and how creatively you can write a meeting between them, (since they've stated multiple times that the animation is never intended to follow the debate directly) that is much more important. And even if that wasn't the case, Thor vs Vegeta was literally billions of times more onesided than this, just check the numbers. This fight also wasn't any shorter than the standard DB length, (which is frankly a miracle considering how much more work hand-drawn animation takes than any other DB style) they just spent time actually fleshing out the scenario, which is almost always better than just jumping straight into the fight. That may be why it felt short to some, but it wasn't.
For the next punishment, you should do something related to the Death Battle. This one would’ve say, bitten a chocolate heart in two (for the death, one with Magneto maybe try to push two strong magnets together. It relates and would be interesting to see how you relate them to the video
You seen any of the Batinthesun battles ? those are awesome and there making a movie soon with jason David frank tommy from power rangers they've done other projects with him too
Omni Man actually loves Debbie, but he was terrible at explaining it because Viltrumites live her 1000s of years compared to humans and he didn't know how to tell Mark since he was more loyal to the Viltrum Empire. Threatening Mark's life and k***ing Debbie were terrible mistakes on Homelander.
Even so, it doesn't matter. Homelander was threatening Omni Man to leave or he would kill him. Of course, Omni Man doesn't want to leave. They were going to fight anyway. Speaking of which, I wonder if Homelander has the power to fight Invincible. Mark may have his father's powers but he lacks experience.
@@Nameless82284 Mark folds Homelander too. Remember Battle Beast called Invincible a worthy opponent and Battle Beast is actually stronger than Omni Man and Homelander isn't very experienced either. He hardly cared about the rest, but concerning this scenario, Omni Man was going to be brutal no matter what. It's Homelander, and unaliving Debbie the way he did would set him off. You'll see it more in the comic. It's not wild anger like most, but he'd get more furious for sure.
@@highlandave8507 I mean season 1 Mark. But seeing how Invincible was able to take attacks from his father who wasn't holding back. It's safe to say that Homelander wouldn't be able to do much damage to him. Invincible may not have as much experience as his father but he does have more than Homelander. Although I could see a fight between them last a lot longer. Invincible may be more powerful but due to his lack of experience, his fights go on a lot longer than they should. In his fight against Titan, Invincible is a lot stronger than him but due to Mark's lack of experience, it went a bit rug.
@@Nameless82284 That's what I meant. Mark has shown much better intelligence, perseverance, has tanked things greater than anything Homelander did, and even knows how to take an L better than Homelander even by the finale. He'll struggle, but Invincible is winning that.
I'm not too sure if someone has told this to Amber already but when you factor how 'Invincible' was made by Robert Kirkman who also made 'The walking dead' comic series which the TV show was based on you can kind of see the gore coming
Amber you good I mean that was a lot of blood and a lot of guts I mean as a guy who plays doom eternal all the time it's honestly normal but the dude want to take a break after this death battle I mean seriously
I got massive whiplash watching the Omni-Man section, especially since I never saw Invincible yet. I saw The Boys, and knew about Homelander to a degree. But Omni-Man's backstory was just wack to me.
There's more to Omni-Mans backstory but they didn't talk about avoided talking about it, along with a lot of other stuff about Omni-Man, to avoid spoilers
I can understand not wanting to watch The Boys, but I will say that the story of Invincible is worth the gore, and the characters that you find yourself hating one episode can grow on you the next episode. Plus it’s got a lot of interesting twists and turns
I’ve heard that some people actually said Homelander would beat Superman in a fight, which is even funnier. OmniMan is at best a shadow of Superman, still thoroughly outclassed by the Kryptonian in every stat, and he barely broke a sweat beating Homelander. Superman would vaporize HL, and he wouldn’t even get to land a punch.
That wasn’t a fight. That was Omni man just playing his food until he finally decide to end it.
well he did serve food to homelander by serving him with his own heart and force him to swallow his own heart to death
John: *Kills Debbie*
Nolan: “Imma torture you for a bit before you die”
John: *Threatens to kill Mark*
Nolan: “OH HELL NAW YOU A DEAD MAN NOW!!!”
The fight didnt even last two minutes
Pretty sure Omni served the meal... "Now swallow!"

It's more that they're both superhumans that lashed out against mankind for everything the two have suffered, even forming their own nations.
The fight was one-sided. But it also proved that even stomp battles are fun to watch.
If I came face to face with someone who just killed my dog I'd be pissed off
Homelander... WORST. SUPERMAN. EVER.
FACTS.
12:52 That part literally made me laugh XD
Amber.EXE has stopped functioning.
@@multiverse_media2023 me accidentally watching a movie that has a /// scene be like :

You kill Omni-Man's pet, and he will go all John Wick on you.
As soon as I saw you getting uncomfortable with the amount of gore I knew that the death was probably going to shock you.
There's not actually that much gore in the Invincible show. Most of it is at the end of the first and last episode, and it is used to emphasize the dramatic impact of scenes rather than just as shock value.
I don't think there was one animated Invincible episode without at least one scene with notable gore. Some were certainly more pronounced than others.
There's def gore in pretty much every episode
@@danieldickson8591episode 4 when mark went to mars im pretty sure there was like barely any blood
Still can't believe they actually calculated... that.
Homelander hit Omni man 8 times and only his 2 shouts hurt him
I mean his heat vision hurt Omni Man's eyes, just not enough to overcome his healing factor.
I know Amber…ONE SIDED MASSACRE!!!
Also at 12:53, my reaction exactly…JESUS!!
Yeah in Episode 1 it starts normally but the last 5 minutes turn the entire series ON ITS HEAD when Omni-Man reveals what level of murderer he can become
- This fight is incredibly one-sided
- But Homelander dies in a very gruesome way
- ...okay, i love it
Ah, this death, otherwise known as 'ah fuck I just ate dinner too'
idk but watching you cringe at the violence is so entertaining especially knowing what was coming next XD. so sorry you had to see all that tho. Also I agree, Brandon Yates' songs go hard
The bit about Homelander's love-life and everyone's reactions to it is my favorite part of these videos 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If someone thought Homelander was gonna win, they needed to get their brain checked.
By Butcher? I heard it's his specialty.
Omni-Man: Merry Christmas(crushes Homelander's head) and a happy new year you bastard.
Omni man winning was something I expected, even though I have never watched either Invincible or The Boys.
12:53 Amber your face is priceless!
The reactions you have are GOLD
Especially 12:50
This wasn't a battle, it was just omni man keeping his promise
Was it one sided? Yes
Was it well animated? Yes
Did I enjoy Homelander getting knocked down a peg or twenty? Absolutely.
If there’s a God, it seemed like he was working out some aggression there.
The reactions I've seen to Homelander's death have been PRICELESS!
14:50 I’d like to point out that the kid survived that fall
Also I love how Omni-Man tells Homelander how he was gonna kill him and 1 fight through the neighborhood later, HE DOES!
I like Invincible. Behind the gore, though it's not as much as I expected, it's a pretty good and somewhat wholesome story.
15:21
One. One Possibility.
It’s time for HOMELANDER’S FUNERAL!
Awesome reaction Amber. And yeah this was a stomp in Omni-Man's favor.
To be honest, I don't think it really matters how one-sided it was. Everyone just wanted to see Homelander die.
Huh he was not kidding when he gonna feed him to his heart
I love how the moment Nolan goes "I'm going to feed you your own heart" everyone goes quiet like oh darn, Honelander is so dead.
The thing is, Omni man could’ve ended the fight way earlier, but no, he WANTED to actually feed him his heart.
The saddest thing about the best a nut feat for homelander
It's the best speed feat hes got
If I wasn't so desensitized to human suffering due to Mortal kombat, Berserk and Fist of the north star, this DB episode probably would've completely traumatized me.
This wasn’t a death battle, this was an execution
Omni-Man was pretty board while fighting Homelander. He doesn’t see Homelander as a challenge.
I still have no idea how Homelander had a kid when he atomizes his partners when he have s*x.
I knew who was going to win, and we all did. We all watched it because we wanted to see homelander put in his place.
13:07 my thoughts exactly when I saw this.
"Battle of the evil superman clones"
When you're doing so poorly your opponent starts teaching you to punch better
That fight was longer than what it should've been.
The only reason this was made was because we all wanted to kill Homelander
17:27 he said "Better."
Honestly I feel like they just wanted to watch homelander get brutally beaten ( not complaining he deserved )
just now discovered, just now subbed, absolutely LOVE your energy!
I already pre-ordered The Boys Seasons 1 and 2 Collection on Blu-ray. As for this Death Battle, it was like taking Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe to a whole new level of extreme violence and I'm all for it!
People love seeing someone beat the shit out of Homelander
Do you want to know the most messed thing about this match, it doesn't have the biggest body count of civilian casualties in death battle. That would go to Beerus vs Galaxia or Hulk vs Broly.
I love how everyone agrees, this is the one sided fight we can all forgive
You ever seen Mad Max? The LAST thing you do is target the wife.
You ever seen John Wick? The LAST thing you do is target the pet.
@@L0n3star-D16 Preach brotha!
He gave up because, despite all his bluster, he couldn't bring himself to kill the son he loved.
I do recommend Invincible. It's graphic but the story is quite engaging and well written and most of the characters are pretty good.
Except Amber.
@@marmyeater that's why I said "most". Mainly the Graysons and Cecil.
@@marmyeater Tbh amber didn't really do anything wrong. She was a cool character. Don't know why she gets so much hate.
@@UA-camChannel-lk8hc while it's been a while since I watched the show, when she found out that Mark was invincible the first thing she did was antagonize him for never being there for her specifically. people don't like her because she's just really unlikeable
@@lordtoomas Well she was his girlfriend ofc he was supposed to be there for her. Any other reason?
This was such a huge stomp for Omni 😭
Having watched The Boys, seeing Homelander get his absolute shit wrecked was beyond satisfying.
"It's too one-sided!"
Not as one-sided as Smokey the Bear vs McGruff the Crime Dog, though
“NOLAN PLEASE” was homelanders last words
Did you know that on the official twitter accounts of both Invincible and The Boys acknowledged this Death Battle.
What did they say?
@@Keychan64 actually not just acknowledged, they were promoting this episode
I guess you could say that airplane really had to SPLIT.
Honestly the fight was worth it just to see Homelander get the shit beat out of him for once and even die
I feel like this is the Death Battle with the most... Well, deaths.
Amber's initial response to Omni Man's threat was exactly the same as Homelander's.
There's more to Omni-Mans backstory but they didn't talk about avoided talking about it, along with a lot of other stuff about Omni-Man, to avoid spoilers
they avoided talking about a large amount of backstory for both of them to avoid spoilers since both are currently ongoing shows
Guess Homelander wasn’t INVINCIBLE
Nice. Should've been the ending pun.
I can understand not wanting to watch The Boys, but I will say that the story of Invincible is worth the gore, and the characters that you find yourself hating one episode can grow on you the next episode. Plus it’s got a lot of interesting twists and turns
That was such MK fatality jeez o-o
GO TETSUO (and yes he is from Akira) :3
Well done Amber ^^
Yeah, what happened at 18:25 is nowhere near as bad (visual wise) as the whole faster than sound thing Homelander can do, is it?
I'm honestly more surprised omni-man is only 250 pounds, then 1000 years, like my man built like the whole damn brick warehouse.
Its double redundant since Black Noir is also (SPOILERS AHEAD) a second Homlander, only stronger.
People love theses shows it’s not for everyone but still tons of people love both of the shows
Imagine if you thought Homelander was going to win
That will be the biggest debunked episode
I’ve heard that some people actually said Homelander would beat Superman in a fight, which is even funnier. OmniMan is at best a shadow of Superman, still thoroughly outclassed by the Kryptonian in every stat, and he barely broke a sweat beating Homelander. Superman would vaporize HL, and he wouldn’t even get to land a punch.
If you wanna listen to the music on its own the track is on UA-cam and called "diabolical invincible me"
keep it down, the dog's trying to sleep.
So the word noir is the French word for black. Thus Black Noir literally translates to Black Black
