He explained it perfectly. I always say something similar. If this was a video game and Wayne was a created character, all of his sliders would be up. He killed the industry with hit records, he killed it with features, he did his thing with albums, he had the streets on lock with the mixtapes (the literal mixtapes God), he don't write like Jay Z, but has the work ethic of 2 Pac, wordplay ✅️, lyricism✅️, influence✅️, masterful run for years✅️, made a song called best rapper alive and nobody checked em. No other character in the video game would be as well rounded as Wayne. And that's why he's the 🐐
Best comment 💯 🐐
Not true on nobody checking him. There’s an interview where Lupe talks about it from a topic about Kendrick. That boy was charging 100k a verse to kill niggas in they own song
You just described 'Drake' too. To think that Drake was even more versatile, consistent every year and had more hit records than Wayne is crazy. Both legends. Respect man!

Great point on "I feel like dying" that song influenced a wave of people. Even him doing rock inspired a wave of kids. Waynes ability to make multiple types of songs dominate mixtapes, pop charts, and features is really unprecedented. Wayne will never get credit for everything he truly has provided to the rap game and music. Also, Nicki and Drake but benefited immensely from the Wayne co-sign. They both would have made it but Wayne standing besides them accelerated their growth. Jay is a better businessman and probably has better peak from an album perspective but Wayne is right there with him. Definitely the Kobe to HOV's Jordan.

Wayne is the king of "random bars that don't go together in a song." Most of his songs arent story tellers or stick to one theme. They're random bars put together that sound fire. LMAO yall be saying some silly shit man 😂😭😭😭😭
The actual truth. Thank you
Wayne made history in both ways. Modern rap culture is lil Wayne baby.
I have an idea. Name 20 Wayne songs, where the cadence, style, flow, content,etc..., are different from the last. Guarantee you, I can easily pick 20(maybe more) Nas cuts that sound nothing like the last. Wayne has mad filler lines in his songs. Nas connect the dots, effortlessly, in his cuts. On the real, a lotta youngins don't fck with Nas, because they can't keep up with his punchlines. You see it with the reaction videos on UA-cam. Many have to rewind the song MULTIPLE times, some even have to research mid reaction, to comprehend it.

Lil Wayne is sn overated Fabolous/Jadakiss
Carter 2 is what made me a fan fan like that guy but I truly believe Gillie ghost wrote a lot of that
@@keemjohnson6031 There was a line in blooded where Wayne was like "They like it so much, they say they write that".😂😂 And my thing with the writing is Wayne's pen game became even more lethal as he evolved, way past his time with Gillie and it honestly diminishes that argument, Most of Wayne's bar heavy tracks were after that. Based off longevity you have to count the fact that people still listen to Biggie and he's still one of the quintessential rappers over twenty years after his death. His music lived on without him.
I don't think they meant listening to the same songs over and over again. They meant consistently making great music for a long time.
If we talking longevity in music you have to factor in the longevity of the the music itself not just how long did they make music for.
@@slimjakeymusic6597 okay that's fair👍

He’s right Nas had like 3 hits in 30 years and Wayne got just as much bars.

Lil Wayne music is Rap for Dummies. Definitely influential and iconic but not better than Hov Biggie, Nas, PAC

@@TrueCarbon NAS THE GOAT AND NO DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!
1 He’s a genius at storytelling. He’s probably the only one better than Big at this. He has a gift for just putting you at the setting of the story, while delivering bars after bars. “Death row East” is actually a recent and very good example. It just sounds like someone reading you a book
2 He bodied Jay-Z. A prime Jay-Z at that. Jigga is in my top 5, and he would’ve destroyed anyone else’s career, but “takeover” didn’t even affect Nas
3 Nas has never had a top 10 single, but most of his albums have been certified gold or platinum
4 Longevity. He has proven to be timeless, and still has bars and a delivery as smooth as butter even on Magic, so there’s no sign of slowing down in sight
5 He outlasted his peers. Take a look at who came out in the early 90’s and try to come up with rappers that are still relevant. Impossible
6. He has the lyricism of Rakim, the wordplay of Kool G Rap, the awareness of Chuck D, the knowledge of KRSONE, the metaphors of Big Daddy Kane, the storytelling of Slick Rick and the longevity of LL Cool J! And at some point managed to exceed them all!!
He said the samething with Dipset and the Lox. Cant take Ice serious smh

Lil Wayne having the mixtape scene on lock is essential in calling him Number 1. Nobody did it like him! I would even argue that his "Purple Rain" is one of his great and under rated mixtape songs

In my opinion, Hustler Musik was Lil Wayne's "Purple Rain" only because out the mainstream songs he had at the time, that one seemed the most honest and personal.
That was a copy of 50 cent's 2005 song hustlers ambition.
Even lil wayne's mixtape dominence followed 50 cent's blueprint.
Not just that but lil wayne's 2008 song lolipop came from 50 cent's 2007 song called Amusement Park.
50 cent is lil wayne father.
You can say 50 cent created the modern rap era.
Hustler Musik is def my fave Wayne song, it really felt personal and I felt his energy and soul in that song, I still listen to it and feel his soul in that song.
@@darrenraphael @darrenraphael no 50 definitely copied off Ja Rule down to the singing and was called out plenty of times. There's your modernizing rap. The problem with Wayne fans is they tend to over estimate his ability not all Wayne fans ofc. When it comes to lyrics/bars I fw Wayne he is one of da goats but he mainly jus put a lot of random bars together on a song that has nothing to do with the overall theme of the song. It jus sounds good so nobody really complains about it and his fans wanna compared him to nas or Andre😂. Wayne is great but their are old school artist who are simply better than him. Andre 3000 was a lyrical genius in fact to this day his songs still go over people heads. Andre and nas can def out rap Wayne it’s not even close. The only actual decent argument would be Wayne vs Jay Z. Jay wasn’t the most lyrical but he definitely spit some real sh*t.
It’s the opposite..most people only judge Waye men in his Mainstream/commercial hit songs..but they don’t dive into his deeper cuts and underground shit they hit Plenty of substance. Wayne has so much music released

Waynes Purple Rain is Deff "Thought it was a Drought"
Why is this even a debate? No one is on Nas level lyrically, and no one has a run from ‘91 throughout now! Not to mention KD4 is on the way. Name a rapper who has been in the game that long and still making quality albums? Not songs or features ALBUMS. Wayne is a legend, but there’s no way he’s better than Nas. It must be politics for people to always put Jay over Nas and Nas has proven several times why he’s always the better MC. Social media will take sales, sold out arenas etc over impact, influence, longevity, lyricism, and weight class! The top 5 is not based on that criteria but these idiots know that. I’m from Texas mayne. Scarface is one of Nas favorite rappers and Nas is one of Scarface favs. This is an example of weight class. You can’t just overlook the impact, and definitely don’t overlook lyricism. NAS is the greatest ever. No gimmicks, no tricks or manipulation from mainstream. Just bars with so much insight it could clear as instructions!
If we’re talking about a combination of versatility, lyrical ability, longevity, influence, dominance, hits, album sales, the most features in 1 year, went platinum in 1 week etc etc. Lil Wayne is the Goat.💯
