As a black man who studied fashion merchandising I will tell y’all straight up
My professor broke down the history of fashion and word for word said “I’m not sure what else the AA community has contributed to fashion beyond the Afro and ZOOT SUIT” and then looked at me and the two black females in my class to help her answer. The two females had nothing to say I went on a speech rant
Why? Because there’s no way you teach a class and have no clue what black people have contributed . So his argument fails cause the average American even in the fashion industry won’t credit black people for influencing or contributing to fashion at all so if that’s what we hold onto it’s a false branch

This is so true!!! It’s sad that this man believes I mean screaming to the top of his lungs that Hip hop belongs to the Blackman. No it belongs to the Jews just as he stated. They created the atmosphere, they tell this young artist what to rap about and all they tell them they do knowing it’s tearing down the black community and our youth. When Sugg Knight and others wanted to get the distribution deal to support black entertainment and entertainers Jay and Diddy ran to the Jew man and told them what was going on what they were trying to do. The Jew threw a wrench in that plan and created a hostile environment for some. Diddy and Jay are turn coats of their own race. However, I search a good God and he is going to whip them and expose those doors they hide within. Hollywood is going to fall, crash, and burn. They have hurt and discarded so many they will see them upon their descent.

Let's take Diddy or R. Kelly for example. I wouldn't want either of them anywhere near a school, a school project or a child just because they have money no matter how many hip hop or R n B songs they sing.
On that point alone I disagree with Dr. Umar.

The hip hop conversation was annoying. As a black girl who grew up in the hood, I come here to say that hip hop has done nothing positive for me. Instead the culture that influences or creates hip hop made me feel like an outcast in my community, because I wasn't the typical Ghetto black girl. Being Ghetto or gangsta was looked down upon in my family. So neither was acceptable.
