Worse still, one of his compatriots wants you to kill him just on the merit he’s a ghoul and therefore suffering

When you think about it I'm surprised the NCR having Ghoulfied troops isn't more of a massive advantage for them against the Legion.
Actually yeah. Send in a radiation bomb on the legion and have follow-up attacks with the ghouls.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the NCR make use of their ghouls as NCR Rangers?

Did you know that you can get edwards to attack his old squad, by returning to his squad and telling them they'll suggest he be put out of his misery. If you report back to edwards he'll tag along with some ferals and attack the squad and usually be killed, if he survives he has no further dialogue as he usually isnt meant to survive the attack.

I think Astor fails to realize that unlike the others he isn’t a feral ghoul, which feels like a failing of the Courier
@@ryanrusch3976 no Astor knows he isn't he just doesn't care. You can tell him Edwards isn't Feral, he'll still say "put him out of his misery"
@@wil2560 really, i was 90% sure the dialogue was that you just say one of the soldiers is alive as a ghoul, failing to note that he is one of the only ghouls who isn’t going feral. I mean all the other guys you kill are also ghouls so I don’t foul Astor for the Courier’s vagueness.
@@ryanrusch3976 nah. You have a dialogue option to say after telling of edwards "but he isn't Feral" Astor still doesn't care and wants him killed. There's no fault on the courier they tell Astor Edwards is just a normal ghoul and Astor does not care. He doesn't want any ghouls in his platoon.
I always make sure to save him. Gotta bring him to the Ranger Station too.

In fallout new vegas while performing medical exams on the injured boomers at nellis, if you have low enough intelligence and a knife, you can hack blindly to save the patients which the doctor will comment that it was "dumb luck"

Edwards may be a reference to "Eddie", a ghoul looking creature featured on most of Iron Maiden's albums. In one of their most famous songs, "The Trooper" Eddie can be seen wearing a British redcoat uniform brandishing a sabre and a British flag. Edward in New Vegas is a trooper, much like Eddie.

In fallout new vegas if you have low enough intelligence during the quest "I can make you care" (i think thats the correct name) You can access unique dialogue with the vagrant sitting down and have a seemingly very intelligent coversation with him.
I always wondered why that character had a name but I could never talk to him by like mick and Ralph’s right ?
It’s “I could make you care” but close enough. I love little things like this in New Vegas!

Poor guy has already been through hell, shouldn't have to experience mistrust and bigotry from his old squad. Plus, maybe serving with the Rangers will get him noticed by them and send him on his way to Ranger himself.
In fallout 3, there was concept art of a massive rideable molerat, that you could use to ride around the capital wasteland! Theres a mod which adds this into the game. Similar to this there was a cut companion named bessie which was a brahmin companion that you could buy outside of the freeside gate, this is actually accessiable in cut content mods and works pretty well!
Stop it please. I already knew FNV wouldve been the best game period if they got the development time. Don't add fuel to the fire by telling me more removed content.

I never knew this existed because the radscorps never spawned when I walked outside so I could never complete the quest. I always assumed it was a never completed quest because Edward's will say he wants to be a veteran Ranger but they don't allow ghouls but the thing is Veteran Rangers will also have ghouls at Ranger station delta [I think its delta] which just made me further believe it was an unfinished quest. Thanks for finally ending this pain for me, Mantits

Just discovered you like 2 days ago but your videos are making me want to try fallout 1 and 2 more than ever. I just have to finish my tale of 2 wastelands run first.
To captivate you with the idea, I just tell you this, you are going to play fallout 2 as many times as any other fallout you have played there. It's very good, he fights for first place with New Vegas.
Almost every time I watch yours or triangle city's vids on new Vegas I'm always reminded of shit I did as a kid, and either forgot about or couldn't figure out how to redo or was patched and I just figured I imagined it all lmao

This area is pretty cool. 3-4 quests, 2 unique weapons, 3 if the wild wasteland perk, and the atmosphere is just creepy
Camp Searchlight is unique in that the feral ghouls there, even glowing ones, can wield weapons (melee only). I don’t believe you can find one anywhere else in the 3D fallout games, maybe in the entire franchise.
Lore-wise probally has to do with how little time has passed between human to feralization so they retain at least some of their memories but obviously not enough to be non-feral.
That always threw me off. I assumed they were just normal ghouls trying to kill you before you kill them like the NCR asks you too, but the NCR also have ghouls serving in their ranks so I never even understood why that sergeant thought they should be killed
Every time I tried to do the dogtag quest, I'd usually end up with one missing and irretrievable. In order to save Private Edwards, I'd end up having to use console commands more often than not.
I've so far only just grabbed his dog tag. This video can be something to keep in mind in my next playthrough.
This mission has a bug where astor didn't want to talk about ranger station echo (i forgot how the conversation structure made that), so make sure create a save game before entering camp searchlight for the first time
You can straight up tell him he’s a rabid dog that needs to be put sown.
this quest stumped the fuck out of me the first time i played through the game on 360. had zero idea the last ghoul trooper would be a sane ghoul you had to get the last dogtag off of, id just walk the town aimlessly looking for the last feral trooper. i also had no idea you could convince him to leave if you killed the rad scorpions until just now. lmao damn, i feel stupid.
Ah shit never knew this, always just threatened him for his dog tag.
When he said that the NCR won't accept Ghouls, I just knew that wasn't true because Ranger Station Echo has some there but never knew that I can just tell him to go there.
In fallout new vegas you could orginally be able to play as a ghoul or super mutant as the game orginally was meant to be more free but was cut due to time constraints.
Oh man this would be so awesome. I always wanted to be a ghoul and get access to a new experience and deal with different problems due to my ghoulishness such as anti-ghoul racism, certain towns not wanting me to enter, or having to deal with random speech checks to get access to ares where ghouls aren't allowed. I would imagine some place like the Ultra luxe would hate to have me inside. It would also be cool to have the tradeoff of needing radiation rather than avoiding it which would change a lot of the areas of the game around.
I'm still waiting for my ghoul playthrough.
We want to pick our races in Fallout, just like we can in the Elder Scrolls. Need the option to be a Ghoul, Super Mutant, or Synth

i always save his his ass everytime i went through there. plus i also kill every legion afterwards
I always love activating all the turrets in town to make it safe
in fallout 1, one of the quest on the hub is to find the missing caravans. after dealing with the deathclaw and getting the holotape from the mutant, if you are wearing power armor the vault dweller can say "i can guarantee it wasnt the brotherhood" to rutger getting a bit of unique dialogue

You can send him after the NCR squad once you tell him that you have orders to put him out of his misery. He'll round up the ferals too, and it's fun to watch.

The place scared me a little when I saw it the first time
It could be rubble meteors. The nukes send debris flying like metal, cars, etc, which fly for miles due to being close to the blast. It picks up speed, hits terminal velocity, hits the ground, boom, crator.

First time i went in his house i already killed all the enemies around, so i was like "what radscorpions? There were none" and i thought the game bugged out and i just had to exit the back door and re enter
Surprise surprise i was surrounded by 4 big radscorpions that almost teared me apart
This part of the quest is such a pain in the ass to get right, because sometimes this option isn't available.

This quest made me rage so hard because of dialogue bugs and not being able to complete the quest. I had to restart this quest 8 times cuz of bugs
Yeah I think it was unfinished and has some bugs such as the radscorpions not spawning or Astor's dialogue breaking. It's also annoying to find Edwards because all the other former troopers are feral and outside and Edwards is the only one inside and non-feral. I thought my game was always bugged because I just couldn't find the last dog tag.

So I was finishing up a NCR playthrough today, and during the final battle I came across colonel Moore. She had some dialogue options about how the aftermath of the battle, even though it was still going on. Seems like a little remnant from when they were going to have the game continue after the main quest.
There are voice files in the game that have various NPCs comment on who you sided with after the Battle of Hoover Dam, so yeah they did intend on letting the player continue after the Battle. Shame it got cut, but there are mods that let you continue the game after the main quest.
@@TeCHnORiOT yeah I'd heard about the cut content, I was just surprised to see that some of that dialogue was still accessible in game.
When the bombs dropped I wonder if any satellites came down? Maybe not even immediately. I ask this because well we got the Big MT one, and that hole seems right for a satellite to drop down and if it didn't burn up entirely to make that kind of hole.

I always trick him out in desert ranger gear and a good arsenal before he leaves.
I love your channel, but I have a small correction. The legion attack would be considered a radiological, not a nuclear attack. One implies the release and scattering of nuclear material, where the other implies a full-on thermonuclear detonation event. It's possible that the radioactive craters were caused by conventional artillery 'doped' with nuclear material. From what we see of the legion in-game, it's possible they created such shells with their limited war industry
Edit: they either scrounged or manufactured artillery shells for the cottonwood howitzer
For me the radscorps spawned first, so when I interacted with him he didn't even mention them

Idk why but this frequently bugs out for me. I won't get the option to to resolve things peacefully.
I don't know about anyone else but when I met up with him he didn't mention any dialog about radscorpions, I thought I had to find the hazmat suit stash to trigger some kind of conservation to help him with his fear of leaving because in the game he says "I don't want to risk becoming feral in the heavy radiation outside the house" and because in the same town there are prospectors looking for the hazmat suits, like creating a choice in the game of giving the stuff to them or helping steward.
I know everything in New Vegas, but nothing about camp searchlight
i like what you just said in this one cause it made me think....what if the "attack" everyone is trying to figure out wasn't even the theory we all assumed that it was vault-tec. What if it was a meteorite but it hit the right communication tower to prevent anyone from saying "it was a meteorite not a missle" and everyone immediately said oh fuck *red button*

Was he already a ghoul or did he become a ghoul? I thought this didn't make sense and just assumed he was a ghoul disguised as a ncr trooper as well. That's just my game theory tho so it probably isn't even a fucking thing people thought about

i doubt its a nuclear bomb crater, more likely a conventional explosive, or as you pointed out a meteorite crater.
You can find 2 unique weapons (3 if you instal project nevada) on camp searchlight, holy grenade under the church (if you choose wild wasteland trait), knock-knock in the fire departments toilet (only accessible if you on the mission wheel of fortune), and flag pole staff in the school (if you install project nevada)
I’m guessing you have to install project Nevada to stop the game crashing when you go to camp searchlight?
NEW DISCOVERY- on the mission wang dang atomic tango when you activate fisto you can destroy him and an unmarked mission objective will be completed, there is no unique dialog from what i tried and you can also kill beatrix for the same thing, i already did santiago before this so.... idk if this has been done before btw my bad if it has

Meteorite crater or blast crater? How about a hot spring? Which is normal across deserts
The fact that TK-Mantis and his supporters keeps uploading New Vegas facts suggests that this game is probably the most complex RPG that I have ever played in my opinion. I know there are other RPGs that could do better than New Vegas. But still, the tons of hidden details in this game makes Bethesda a shallow one in comparison.
