    Just use Alt-Z for xray view if you want to select vertices all the way through the model

    Tried the same thing with max but the vertices go twisted 😖😖 not inside as here

    i have a problem where i start off with a subdivided cube thats shaped like a sphere using the cast modifier. When i the have subdivision surface modifier on the sphere and try adding spikes extruding from the sphere using the subsurf modelling technique the shape of the sphere gets distorted by the subsurf

      select the bottom ring of vertices and hit F for face

      If you want a bottom, in edit mode select the ring of vertices that make up the bottom. Select all those vertices with say an Alt+left click. Then just press the F key on the keyboard (F for fill) and you will have a base surface. If this is for 3D printing the slicing program does not care if there is a base on the 3D model or not. In the slicing settings you select whether you want a base to be printed or not.
