I think the main changes are the increased flashlight reach, and the improved light and shadow accuracy.
Is all good, but doesn't seem to be much in terms of what the mod actually does, is more like a settings tweak.
It didnt look better to me :(
I missed this game back in the days, but being an Alien fan I think I will give it a go 😊 The mod improves shadows and lightning , as far as I can see. No major changes, but it is a nice touch.
Though subtle it looks way more atmospheric 👌🏼
This mod shows off more in the combat.
It aint really a graphics mod.
When I see what the Community is capable of to make games that have disappointed more beautiful, I tell myself that a Colonial Marines Complete Remake would not be a bad idea, especially since Alien is coming back in force at the moment, including in Video Games. Indeed, since February 2013 (11 years), a lot of things have happened like the Alien Isolation Release in 2014 and whose publisher is SEGA precisely, the Bordelands success and Gearbox which was bought by TakeTwo recently.
With all the accumulated expertise, we could review Colonial Marines from zero and return to good foundations. Moreover, I even imagine a collaboration between Creative Assembly, Gearbox Software, SEGA and TakeTwo for a potential remake or a reboot too. We add the atmosphere and the terrifying side of Isolation to make the experience more visceral, very advanced graphics to make the game even more beautiful, UE3 having been very badly used at the time, UE5 could largely do the job and fix the mistakes that the UE3 made.
And finally, a Gameplay reviewed and renewed in a more personal style, perhaps adding elements inspired by Isolation to add a more survival side, action yes, like in a real FPS, but with more movements and realism and finally, a higher difficulty. Indeed, a higher difficulty would make this kind of remake more interesting, especially if we add elements inspired by Isolation while keeping the pure FPS side that Gearbox wanted to show us. It would even allow Gearbox to obtain the Community's Forgiveness and have a second chance to remake the Game with brand new ideas with a New Generation of Developers.
Very very very subtle, except the gun fov
The guns are not taking up a third of the screen.That's huge to me
Never heard of this game before, graphics between Alien Isolation and this has differences, though only one year difference lol
It's a very old game on pc.
there was a lot of controversy surrounding this game. There was hype and build up for years with some impressive pre-release footage, most notably the scene @1:00 . When the game came out thought it was a massive disappointment and once all the article were done ripping it it disappeared like a fart in the wind. Rumours were that Gearbox outsourced the game on the cheap and diverted all funding to the next borderlands game at the time, shame as this had heaps of potential.

alient colonial marines came out around 2008-10. alien iso was 2013 is if i remember rightly

Do it yourself, is a pretty easy to use tool, just follow the tutorials and you'll be publishing mods in a week.
I never ever played a game that after some1 put so much effort and time to make a mod for this and still at best there is only little difference.This game failed.Mod proved that it can be done a lot better,but it's ugly to the core.Just install redux mod to the original AvP from 2000 ,don't waste time on this.
