I like the idea of the hard modes having more fire damage AND that the lower modes loot would include modifiers to gear (to give fire resist) in place of some gear. You collect enough fire resist and you can move up to the higher levels that offer more/only gear.
i personally think the biggest problem in wow is world buffs, i just personally dont find them particularly fun to aquire and feel like they dont add much to raiding. They make raiding too easy when uhave them all, but too hard when u dont have them for many ppl
Disagree with this video, having more difficulty for players who want that content is awsome! besides its not like there is different gear that drops. Only increase on rare drops like TF and sulfuras is a great idea. I think easy raid content is exactly what made P3 so bad for so many ppl. The first week was super fun with overtuned bosses and the raid was actually a challange. Having over 70% of your server clear the raid on week 2 was such a letdown. There are Hardcore communities as well as casual communities. Having higher difficulty content is just healthy for the game to be honest. I hope we see more difficulty like this on the later raids. However i do not want them to add "better" versions of gear. But making some items drop more often like they have with MC is perfect!
If you played season of mastery, i hope they are doing what they did for AQ40... Harder difficulty unlocks at certain rep points, so only after your group has done the raid a few times and scaled up their gear. And the difficulties were not crazy and you could turn them up/down whenever you wanted by going back to the selector.
I completely agree with you and I raid HM cata and recently retail. When I play classic I just want to chill with my dad friends. The content isn’t even going to be very hard but the point of classic is to be relaxing. The people clamoring for it to be a challenge will more than likely not even find it challenging and only the boomers and new players will struggle and then they will stop playing and then you have a dead game again. Gotta see the bigger picture here
I think this is going to be good in the long run. Being able to take new characters into a Heat 3 guild run during late P4 or P5 could be a great way to keep MC relevant. But I do agree that it fractures the player base early on. People won’t be looking for a MC run, they’ll be looking for a MC 1, 2 or 3.
Every group of friends has people that want different things. Some want to parse, others want to chill, others even could not care less. When there's multiple difficulty levels, this all gets thrown into whack and everyone's experience suffers. Some people want to do hard modes, others don't. So your raid is now at odds with one another. Friends are people that like each other, not necessarily people that like playing the game the same way. Blizzard, by adding difficulty modes, is fracturing groups of people that would otherwise just play together and accept the minor inconveniences that poses.
I see alot of comments saying they dont want "harder" molten core but there are also a large majority of players who have raided Molten core 100's of times and want a challenge. I think adding these types of increased difficulties is a great thing for a SEASONAL server - ya know.. the whole point of season of DISCOVERY?... Why should blizzard continually re-do molten core without any additional challenges/mechanics? I can almost guarantee after week 3-4 the heat level 3 won't be an issue for MOST guilds and it will be casually ran by pugs eventually once everyone gets more gear. Heat level 3 on release will be very tough without a fully prepared, fully fire resistant raid team. But weeks into the patch, every raid group will be clearing Heat level 3 and reaping the rewards of extra loot, and this whole conversation will be meaningless

Any serious guild wont need fire resist gear once the majority of the raid is geared. It is normally only "required" the first 2-3 weeks of a raid release because everyone isn't as powerful. Once the players get nearly Full MC bis, I think going without fire resist gear will be the norm and pushing through Heat level 3 will be a breeze.
