      I tried that once, but because the wall of the flange is so thin and close to the assembly, the washers pushed against it at an angle and didn't really do much.

      I like the fixing vids too. Like to see more of them. I like the riding vids Better, perhaps (but don't feel like you have to risk your neck to entertain) I've been laid up half of this year and unable to ride ...had some time to watch many of your vids. Thank You for the many hours of entertainment. Yours are in my opinion the best by far. A shout out to Mike, Travis, Ky Kelly Zack & Tyler. Enjoy y'all very much! Thanks!

    You may want to replace the metal piece that the plastic mates up against on the motor. If it's worn, like it looks like it is, it'll cause that plastic piece to keep wearing down. Great videos.
    Cheers,

    Drill through it and through bolt it. My old 2000 MXZ 700 had a different system and never failed me. It was a circular clamp that held the recoil on to the engine with one bolt and nut to squeeze it clamped. Kind of how a hose clamp works but C shaped. Not sure why they went to an apparently inferior design. Great vid brother.

    Two words, "Spring Puller", they are cheap, and awesome. Also, I am super jealous of the $350 sled. Love the videos! Dude, treat yourself to some nice tools. My buddy had some tools like that and I threw them away when he handed them to me. Christmas is coming up, ask Santa for some quality tools. It's possible the "Cup" on the engine is messed up and that's why that part keeps failing. Just something to think about. Heli-coil that sucker, or can you drill right through it and put a nut on the other side? I can't tell from the video if there is clearance or not.

  • @Outdoor-adventures-22

    It's not your paw on your recoil. I use to have the same problem, you have to replace the black outer assembly the recoil housing. The lock washer that holds the paw assembly on gets weak and bends and pulls the paw away from the teeth. Been watching you deal with it awhile. It will solve your problem 100%

    • @JeremyRhydes
      @JeremyRhydes  5 років тому

      I actually bought an entire new housing (for too much money I might add. Lol) That didn't fix my problem, unfortunately.

    • @Outdoor-adventures-22
      @Outdoor-adventures-22 5 років тому

      Oh alright. I went through paws left and right and that fixed mine. Figured maybe it would help you. Could also be getting hot and making the paw soft and wearing it down. Just a thought. But love your videos.

  • @GaryLordsWayMinistry
    @GaryLordsWayMinistry 5 років тому +1

    Why don't you make a metal one? Or buy a billet one made already for the recoil? Definition of crazy is doing the same thing expecting a different result. Now that is crazy. I think I would have pulled it to the door where the tools are at. Getting closer to the work helps it go much faster. Also if you didn't have to pull it 15-20 times to get it running when its cold that recoil would stay together longer as well. Starter fluid in the dead of winter is our friend Jeremy. Just don't use too much at a time. Seems to me you could glue a metal shield over the plastic part that engages the metal outside of the case assembly that turns. So that way you have metal against metal of at least the same hardness and it would last longer with a little grease on it, so when it rubs against it and jams in, it would not bend the plastic off. Put in some copper strnad of small gauge wire into the whole on both sides of the bolt and see if it will tighten then, might last a season might not. If not you can always drill it and tap it as planned.
