The quality of this Group 1 race continues well into the new century with the likes of Islington, Alexandrova, Blue Bunting and as mentioned before Enable, the latter is probably the best winner of this famous York race, I think 1849 it was introduced. Darley are the current sponsors.

I loved diminuendo, she battled well to dead heat in the Irish oaks when in season. I really good 10 to 12 furlong filly
The winner, out of a former Dewhurst winner Diesis won the Epsom Oaks that year.
Diminuendo was all class.

Far superior a performance to any horse this century over 10f at York that's for sure.
