The Azores, and more importantly, your portrayal of it, have been completely enchanting, to say the least. Your hard work on the boat has paid off with a lifetime of memories. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words Silas! And congratulations! You are the winner of our Abaco Sunglass giveaway! If you would like to accept, just send us an email in the next 5 days to let us know. 😀

Just wanted to point out you guys are making it really hard to chose where to start and stop sailing. Have seen so many beautiful places thanks to you. Keep up the great work! See you guys out there. 18 Months and counting
I can see why you two love the Azores! , and I think the Azores would love to have the both of you there to tell their story , and we followers can just enjoy your beautiful videos . Thankyou . Good luck .
Matt and Jessica, when I did a trip to Germany I was in an area where no-one spoke English (very small town in the middle of nowhere) and we had stopped for an excellent meal. I didn't know at first what to order because I didn't know what it said but I took a picture of the menu with my cell phone through the Google Translate app. (Android or iPhone) and it gave me a great description of what all the menu items where. Just an idea for future areas. Keep the videos coming. 👍
We've used the photo part of Google Translate a few times now, but since we cruised without cell phones for years, this "having access to data" is still foreign to us, and we forget these awesome new tools are available. It took me a bit to realise that you can take a photo, highlight the text part, and Google will translate. Before, we were having it translate live and data usage was insanely high. I used to be a techie guy, but I've quickly fallen behind the times:) Matt
What a great episode! I've been following you guys a long time and it seems you have a knack for creating the illusion that the audience is right there with you. Words are hard for me but again Thank You. (kissy face)
Holy crap, Hell yes. My wife donated a pair of prescription sun glasses to Neptune in lake Ontario on a trip across to Canada. If I found a way to get a pair back I could be a hero. For a little bit anyway... Love watching you guys travel the world..
No need to rush to Ireland. It will still be green when you get there. Still enjoying your travel Videos. I have talked with pilots who stopped in the Azores when crossing the Atlantic in small planes. I had no idea that it was so beautiful. Must go.
Coastal France, Norway, Scotland, Ireland and England..... we've got a lot of beautiful places to see this year, but it's hard to tear ourselves away from the Azores. Luckily, weather isn't allowing us to move on anyway :) Matt
Amazing as always, in three years hit me up would totally take that beauty off your hands. Getting tried of motor boating ready to switch to sailing, you two are a weekly reminder of why.
Beautiful sailing! I am hoping to visit the Azores for work later this year and make a vacation out of it on the tail end. Your videos have been super helpful for planning. Cheers and keep up the great work!
I wish I had my youth back - you two make living on a sailboat look so easy and so much fun. I know it's a lot of work too, but just love all your videos and look forward to every Wednesday. Grand Rapidian stuck in Ohio!
OMG ... DON'T STOP! A long bucket list gives a damn good reason to keep living! : ) Stay Healthy, Safe Sailing, Live long and Keep checking off EVERYTHING on the LIST : )
A part of me has been really looking forward to you guys getting to Norway since I heard you mention it (maybe jokingly) a few episodes back. But if you do stay in the Azores longer term I won't be feeling sorry for you guys or for us who get to see more of such an awesome place.
Norway is still on the horizon!! It has always been our plan for the summer of 2019. Our big question was where to spend the '18-19 winter....in Ireland...or more appealing...the Azores or mainland Portugal. ;)
Going to see Sao Miguel is a great plan. I spent a week driving around the island. I loved it. Make sure to check our Furnas and possible have a meal cooked in the hot ground of the lakeside caldera. Sete Cidades with the wonderful views and blue and green lakes.
We were there for a few weeks in 2014 on our old boat. (it's where we were when we bought Elements sight unseen). It rained the entire time and we never left Ponta Delgada. This time, we wanted to see all the sights and do all the tours we could. It's an amazing place. Matt
Finally someone who offers nice prescription sunglasses. I’ve had so much joy watching your videos and the areas you’ve visited. I watch a few other channels and I keep comparing them all. Out of the ones I watch you guys and Sailing Catalpa are tied for the top spot.
We talked about bypassing them when we saw good winds for a run straight to Ireland without a stop. But that was a quick conversation due to the fond memories of the place from our last crossing. Did you make a straight run into the med? If so, please tell me you stopped in Madeira? It's our favorite place we've ever been to. Matt
Another great episode, you guys get to see some really beautiful places, thanks for taking us along, some of scenes are simply breathtaking. Great Job.
While there are so many special places we've been around the world, San Miguel is the first one we recommend to anyone that will listen. It's my idea of perfection. Matt
You guys are great! I got hooked on your videos a month ago when I was in Lisbon (yeah, no TV) and now I am convinced I have to sail to the Azores. (I love that Sagres as well)
"Mini's distant cousin....Peggy!" Ha Ha. Great video, as mentioned, most excellent editing on this one, looks like it took you really took some time to accomplish. Might be your best video yet, and I have enjoyed them all from the raw start in the boat yard. I thought at one time you would be sailing to colder waters, not sure. Plans change that is what makes life so interesting. Keep up the good work and really look forward to future videos. Say hi to Georgie for me. BTW Lots of snow, freezing rain and cold temps here in Wisconsin. Stay warm!
Don't worry Andrew, we're heading North and will be sailing Norway this summer. The decision was just between where to winter over for 2018-2019 winter. Matt

Leaving a comment below for glass's. You should start to send your links to the local chamber of commerce and tourist bureau , and how you are doing a great job of advertising for their islands. This way, when you go for your visa extension, you will have them on your side wanting you to stay. Give them a reason to keep you there doing what your doing and they will be more willing to help you.
Been living through your eyes for a while now. Going to look at the Azores with VRBO site. You guys are doing a great job of showing the place and the people. Keep posting. Thanks much. Rod McLay
Thanks for another great episode, was a bit shocked when you said a weather window appeared and you chose not to take it. After watching through the whole episode, made better sense. Fair winds.
Is it really happening? It is so crazy... I have been looking for a nice pair of polarized glasses for a while, then I am watching your video thinking "wow! you do have beautiful ones... I should probably ask about the brand and check them out" and boom! there's this draw at the end of the video :) Insane :))) I think you're the best ambassadors of the Azores - they jumped onto my bucket list after your stories/videos :) Thanks guys!
Love your videos! Keep it up! I have an office job and try and get out when I can. Your videos really get me to places I am very unlikely to visit. Love it.
I went to Ireland about 12 years ago. Then it wasn't safe to travel into Northern Ireland. Now, no problem. I enjoyed Ireland. But, if you like rain and not so warm weather, its for you. Don't get me wrong it is a wonderful, magical place, stuck in time. You have the traditional pubs, culture and wonderful countryside. Then you have very modern cities, almost if you were in the US. I think I would fly first and experience it that way, before spending an extensive time there. Peace
The food looks great. Navy top makes Jess' eyes look pretty. I can't wait to see Ireland. Be sure to hang out a while in Galway, I love that place. OH!! I have seen many travel videos where the blogger was disappointed that it was windy and rainy at The Cliffs of Moher were rainy and windy, be ready for that, it's the way they are. There is good tea and snacks in the gift shop
90 Day extension sounds like a workable solution...but, I feel for you both always having that approval on your mind while trying to enjoy the wait. Think positive, try not to worry.
I always enjoy your episodes, and appreciate your editing skills, a lot! I am still learning how to do it with my little chanel......I have a long way to go!!
Aw, had been looking forward to watching you guys sail to Ireland so kinda bummed you guys aren't gonna be doing that, but it'll be fun to watch you guys continue to explore the Azores though :)
By the time we've spent a few months in Norway next summer, our only possibilities of Schengen free areas to go will be Ireland and the UK. Ireland will only have us for 90 days, so the plan is to sail quickly from Norway to Scotland, jump over to Ireland for 90 days, and then head to the UK for winter of 2019-20. You'll just have to wait a bit longer :) Matt
Thank you for showing us such a beautiful spot. I hope Matt’s allergies settle down..it appears way too nice to have to deal with allergies. Good luck on your visas.
I've spent the past 10 years dealing with them on an almost daily basis... we jokingly say I'm allergic to water (this had been as long as we've had a boat) as I sniff and sneeze whenever I'm in or close to water. I finally decided to do something about it a few months ago and got Flonase. 100% life changer! I can breathe again for the first time in a decade. Matt
matt johnson awesome..I am happy that you found something that works for you👍And in a selfish way I am glad you don’t let it stop you. We love your videos the two of you are Great🇨🇦⛵️💐
I'm portuguese and I never visited the Azores I've heard the natives talk about things but I've never seen and I thanked you for your videos, fantastic, someday I'll visit the Azores (the limpets looked good)
Hi Guys, Winter in the Azores or travel to Ireland ? are ye mad or what .... Winter in the Azores of course ! Then travel to Ireland.... I'll have the kettle boiling for ye when ye arrive ! Just take your time and arrive safely !!
It was talking over our option with a lot of Brits that sealed the deal for us. They too all thought we were mad for wanting to winter over in the UK vs Azores. :-). Matt
Of all the wonderful things that Ireland has to offer 3 of them are (1) The Gulf stream comes right up along our west coast. (2) Our prevailing winds come from the Azores. (3) We became a sovereign independent state nearly 100years ago and sent the Brits packing !
Awesome. Every week I look forward to your sharing your experience and the artistry/professionalism of it presentation ... and you haven't disappointed. Kudo's and much appreciation. Question for Jessica.. the clams/oysters looked great (23:60) - what were they, what was on them for spices, etc.
No. Thank you and Matt! I've wanted to get a boat for years but I'm beginning to think that at my age (54) it isn't going to happen. I've considered buying a cheap one and just doing some coastal sailing to learn.
I seem to relate to them more than other channels. Love them all but these guys make the goal of sailing feel within reach for me. Drinking a brew on every island, what’s there not to love!
OMG Stop, our bucket list is now so long thanks to you two. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing the great places to see.
Agree 100 percent! ;-)

Glad to have found your channel. I’m falling in love with the Azores! Glad you guys are sticking around a little longer.

Really enjoy the relaxed sail and easy going narration throughout the video. Your stories are always enjoyable and the photography fantastic.
Easy to see why you like the Azores so much.

These videos are just fantastic. Hope this UA-cam series continues financing your adventure
Another great inspiring video, hope you guys get your visa extended so we can see more of this beautiful place , cheers!!
First channel I've seen that's done an in-depth look at Azores. Thanks!
Love it there. The children are awesome. Hope the visa gets straighten out one way or the other!
We so love all of your episodes but especially the Açores ones. Thanks and keep them coming!
Once again, nice job on the video. Fun to see a part of the world I know very little about. Thanks.
The Azores should give you life residency for how brilliantly you film and portray the islands! Top job - thanks
We would LOVE it if they did that!! Just as long as they waived the VAT on Elements, lol.
What a great portrait of the island and its people. just Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Going to see Sao Miguel is a great plan. I spent a week driving around the island. I loved it. Make sure to check our Furnas and possible have a meal cooked in the hot ground of the lakeside caldera. Sete Cidades with the wonderful views and blue and green lakes.

Really enjoy watching you each week. Takes me away from the very cold north east US.
Beautiful footage always look forward to watching MJ Sailing!

The islands are beautiful, and your video work is great. Thanks for the tour.
I love learning about all these new places! Awesome video.
Check the positivitet of heading to the UK, they are not part of the Schenectady as far as I know. Good luck!
Thank you for all your videos enjoy them very much.
Must admit I skipped the Azores years ago when I was sailing, having watched your vids i'm kicking myself.
We talked about bypassing them when we saw good winds for a run straight to Ireland without a stop. But that was a quick conversation due to the fond memories of the place from our last crossing.

I really appreciate you showing us around these islands. Learned a lot about a place few of us Americans know anything about.
Great episode. Can't wait for the next one.
Love Terceira! Love the visuals. I had the opportunity to visit a year ago and can’t wait to go back.
What a beautiful, clean place. Really enjoying my trip with you!
No wonder you love the Azores so much! My husband and I love watching your adventures every week.
Thanks Darcie for the kind words.... and also for reminding me to contact our shirt supplier (Printful) again about you order.
Matt
Another beautiful episode. I see why you would like to stay longer
Another great episode, you guys get to see some really beautiful places, thanks for taking us along, some of scenes are simply breathtaking. Great Job.

Your enthusiasm for the Azores is contagious!
What a beautiful place to live. Even if it is only for three or four months. Ireland is nice too, but it would be very cold.
We hear it is best to visit there in May & June. 😊

As always a great video. I enjoy seeing the different ports you visit and I could use a pair of sunglasses if I'm lucky enough to win this week.
Thanks for inspiring me every week with your wonderful videos.
Didn't even know these islands existed until your videos. Now I want to go!
Another great video! keep up the good work!
I really hope that your travel Visa is extended by at least the 90 days you desire. Fair winds and good luck.
Love what your doing and keep up the good work.

Great video. Hopefully, you don't regret not leaving...

Easy, breezy afternoon sails are always welcome, thanks for the ride!
The video rocks! Nice job on the music transition into the video.
Love your videos. You are a very charming couple. Wish you the best of lucks with visa extension administrative matters.
I can definitely see why you two want to stay!!!!

Awesome. Every week I look forward to your sharing your experience and the artistry/professionalism of it presentation ... and you haven't disappointed. Kudo's and much appreciation. Question for Jessica.. the clams/oysters looked great (23:60) - what were they, what was on them for spices, etc.
We enjoy watching your travels!
What a cool idea with the guy with a portable keg on his back!!!!!!!!!!!! That was service Barney
Yeah, I don't think I've seen that outside of a sports stadium before. Sure beats the limited size of a Camelbak :)
It is definitely moving up my bucket list!
You two are in my top two of sailing couples! Beautiful video!
Thank you so much Rick!
Mine too, only sailing ones I watch is theirs and Sailing Doodles
Thanks for bringing some sunshine to Philadelphia!
Need to add Azores to the bucket list now!
You two are great tour guides. keep up the great videos.
Jess, Mat is cute but we need more of you !!!!!!
Love watching your videos
