- I wanted to make my own video game console and why not make the cutest one!
This is like a dream come true. I have taught myself the skills needed to create everything you see. I had to design the packaging and the functional video game console using a variety of skills.
I can make a full video showing how I made this if you are interested.

I would LOVE to see how you made this, it looks so cool! I actually tried to do this myself with a TTGO T-display, but kinda failed miserably...

Calling it: it's ATTiny85 based and the CPU is in the cartridge, the console is just a hub for the connectors.

Kind of had a similar idea a while back of wanting to make small reproduction boxes of old game cases, but really I have no idea where to start with that. This is pretty neat.
I love that the quarter was always on screen, juuuuuuuuuust to make sure we hadn't forgotten just HOW small it actually was.

That is definitely the smallest games console I have ever seen! Guessing by the games it is built similar to that Game Boy cartridge game console project. Really nice :)

The gamepad buttons, two conductor section of ribbon wire, so two buttons are via diodes, and one shorts the two conductors together?
Hi Siana! Yes the microcontroller input pin reads a value. When each button is pressed, a mini resistor is connected to the circuit causing the input pin to read a different value. I can check with code that value range and know what button was pressed.
@@3DSage Oh, i see, i was thinking too complex :D I was thinking it was a variant of charliplex matrix :D Yeah analogue read is just a much better idea here.

I noticed that it have 2 controller ports. Does it support multiplayer?
I made a small error I only notice while filming that caused the second controller to not work but I can fix the error and this will play 2 player multiplayer!

How did you make the controller work with only 2 pins? Does it measure the resistance?

@@3DSage That's pretty ingenious. Haven't seen that before. Would that also work with way more buttons or would this cause issues with delay, overhead or too small differences?
