Superb work. There’s something so satisfying about watching someone who knows what they’re doing just get on with it. No American sensationalisation because they changed an oil filter, just work done properly. Looking forward to more!
@@RRCRestoration hmm yea that brings back memories 😅 . Just enough air for the tube to take shape. Also a tiny dab of evostik contact adhesive on the rim tape in a couple of places stops it moving
Yup pretty much, No doubt by the time its finished I'll have spent more than the bike is worth but it'll be worth it to have maybe the only concourse 86 CR250 in Britain :)
An absolute pleasure watching you work. I've worked as a tire changer in an automotive garage, and I've been changing dirt bike tires with tire irons and blade screw drivers since I was a boy but I've never seen a dirt bike tire changed on a turn table, very slick. Looking forward to seeing the completion of the bike, the perfect year and model in my opinion! Cheers lad!
Thank you so much :) Nothing ventured nothing gained ;) get an old wheel strip it to component form then rebuild it you'll find it very enjoyable well if you can get all the nipples undone that is haha.
Watching you redo the wheel bearings reminds me when I did my first ever set and forgot to put the spacer tubes back in🙄. Realised soon enough and with several condemnations of my ineptitude I soon had them in 😂
Currently binge-watching this CR restoration and enjoying it very much. In particular I really enjoy seeing you restore original parts and components, much better than some other channels where they just throw £££ at new stuff. Your approach really showcases your mad skills! And that classic white Impreza that keeps appearing in the background 😍😍
You are really dominating Ronald Finger. You already have track days on your sports bike and are almost through a dirtbike. I think he is still running carb cleaner through his Kawasaki.
Love this channel I just found it I’m rebuilding a Kawasaki kx250 89 and it is a great help you are a wizard of what you do 😂 love watching and you have a eye for protection if my bike turns out half the way this one has I would be very happy thank you for taken the time to share with us
Just did this too - I envy your press, plating and new spokes - hand sanded & polished mine and it took me freaking hours - love seeing this done right by you :-)
so nice !! ....as always i know before that watching your new video will be so much pleasure and, as always, your new video is more than expectations. Seriously the best i have seen...thank you for sharing !
Good job mate. You teaching this old dog new tricks!!🤣 Hope the views have picked up. Should be back next month on Patereon things are getting better. Hang in there. Cheers
Wow, they look pretty spectacular indeed especially with the Maxxis, great choice. Lacing up wheels looks a real artform to me and something I could only dream of doing. Great episode, looking forward to the next one......
Great job in the rims and tires! They look factory fresh. I used to chainge my tires on the floor in the garage with nothing but a couple of tire irons. I always used a generous sprinkling of talcum powder to help the tube slide into place. Thanks for sharing, it brings back a lot of memories. Have a great day. Jeff
The work you do is really perfect, I congratulate you on that. But you don't seem to care much about the products you have.😄 Please renew the tool bags, tool drawers and cabinets you use.👏👏👌👌
excellent work again my friend,i wish i could snap my fingers and get a rear knobbly on like that haha,im normally kneeling down outside swearing with sore knees and tire levers.haha
Good tip coming from a Honda motorcycle mechanic, when installing the wheelspacers into the oil seals, try to push as much grease you can between the wheelbearing and oil seal. Keeps the seals well lubricated so they last way longer and don’t tend to wear out as much, which would mean that dirt and debris can get behind the seal. But as always love the video’s, your workspirit, quality jobs!! Keep up the good work!
oh man, your work is incredible, I always enjoy the videos and the level of detail of the works. Pojopy Paraguay 🇵🇾 guive (Greetings from Paraguay in guaraní). Sorry, me english Is bad 😂
Deeply satisfying, as always! I've built and trued a few bike wheels (pedal and motor) over the years, I always used a marker or 'sharpie' (whiteboard or permanent) to highlight runout, it makes it so easy (erase the mark instantly with a swipe of a wet finger or cloth). Got to the point I could get off a pedal bike, sit it upside-down and true a wheel perfectly in minutes without even letting the tyres down (assuming I had the spoke key and marker with me). Of all mechanicing jobs, I found it to be one of the most satsifying.
Nice tip, i think I'll try that next time as I'm always terrified of scratching the rim with the pointer. It is a very satisfying job when you know what you're doing :)
@@RRCRestoration If you hold the marker in your hand (with your palm braced against the jig, bike frame, whatever), the give in your fingers means get a mark that varies from barely visible to a thick line. I guess you could solidly mount it, but this way you end up with longer sequences of spokes to tweak precisely indicated around the the entire circumference as the mark fades in and out. I'm actually surprised it isn't the way everyone does it!
They look phenomenal man. 1/10 of a style point deducted for not lining up tyre logos with valves cores 😁 but thats my OCD kicking in from mtb’s. I cant wait for this to be to be complete!
Excuse me, in case you answered this a thousand times before: do you sell the restored bikes? and where, if so? or are these commissioned? brilliant job, indeed!
Hi, I keep all my restorations they are all lined up in my collection. I only restore my own bikes I don't take on commissions as it's too much hassle.
I’m only on #6 of the CR250R, but gotta say it’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while - super well done!!
Beautiful work, as always! This is one of the very few places in my world where I can see something done to perfection!
Thank you so much :)
What a fantastic and thorough job you're doing. Great to watch. It's going to turn out beautiful.
Thank you so much!

Wheely enjoyed this episode....sorry couldn't resist!! Highlight of the week/month as always on YT 👍👌
Great to watch as usual and nice to see the vise making an appearance in the background. 👍🇦🇺
Wheels look stunning. It's amazing how easy putting a little air in the tubes helps . Something I learnt when I built mountain bikes many years ago
Thank you, yeah it helps so much i only learnt about it a few years back, so many swear words and kinked tubes before haha
@@RRCRestoration hmm yea that brings back memories 😅 . Just enough air for the tube to take shape. Also a tiny dab of evostik contact adhesive on the rim tape in a couple of places stops it moving

Enjoy! :)
Wheelie good results... brilliant as usual.
What a difference to the wheels, well done.

Outstanding sir can’t wait to see the bike finished. Hope you do a video with you out on the bike..
Great Work !! They turned out Awesome!!👍😁
Those wheels are just awsome. Wish I was brave enough to go to those levels of restoration. All I did was replace the wheel bearings.

Brilliant job! They look better than new.
Thanks so much, Always nice to hear from you :)
That young man is a fine art that so many people just don’t bother learning. Probably the most therapeutic job of building a bike. Job well done fella
Thank you so much for that comment :)
Dude. Love watching your vids. They're always top notch. But I love listening as well 😁. Dulcet tones brother 👉👂 😂. 😎

Honda should hire you to train technicians. Anyone who can make a 1980's dirt bike look like this should be a boss.

Worst bit is they are probably going to go orange in under a year if you’ve done that.

Beautiful work mate but not lining up the tyre logo directly opposite the valve has put my OCD into overdrive! 🧐😂😂
this looks so good!
Thank you my friend :)
I had no idea so much could be done to a wheel and make such a difference in its appearance and apparent mechanical integrity.
yup, the biggest upgrade was changing from steel spoked to stainless steel, no corrosion and a lot stronger than the stock ones.
