Insomnium will only get better. That is fact.
Their lyrics are simply amazing,the beauty of which will never be able to fit in 500 characters. They are never afraid to try new stuff,hence the clean vocals,something i never thought Insomnium will ever use. And there they are,fitting them perfectly with the rest of the song.
Their instrumental work is flawless as always,creating that beautiful atmosphere we have all come to love.
Dare i say,Insomnium is underrated.

This album will be mine. Insomnium, one of the very first MDM bands I listened to and I still listen to this very day. These guys, no matter if they use 100% clean vocals, will never cease to amaze me.

Just found out about this band recently. Easily becoming one of my favorite melodic death metal bands.

Insomnium are so good they actually make it harder for me to like other similar metal bands.
It's like when I found Meshuggah 20 years ago. On the rythmic side there's just no touching them.
These guys are the melodic side. And as a fan of epic movie music, this just falls right into my ballpark.
Only album I've had trouble with is Heart like a Grave. Can't really get into it. But I'll spin it from time to time and see if I'm just crazy.

@namthiX I love your observation. I have been saying the same thing for years. No blood, no gore, no fucking brutality and no stupidity. Instead of repetition, loud drums and fast bass lines Insomnium relies on interesting chord progression, timeless acoustic passages, thoughtful melodies and haunting lyrics all wrapped up into a sophisticated song structure. Most important is the content of there music.
Always exciting to hear new stuff from these guys, pure fucking perfection.
When you think Insomnium can’t make anything more beautiful than this, a little song called ‘Heart Like a Grave’ pops up and says “Hello, have you met me yet?”
I fcuking agree. You either love Insomnium or you've never heard of them! You cannot dislike this band let alone hate it. Insomnium is incredible to the power of infinity. Enough said.

This is incredible. Once One for Sorrow is released, I think the genre of MDM should be officially closed. Nobody will ever be able to top it. Except for maybe Insomnium...

BREAKING METAL NEWS : Ville Vanni has left Insomnium for personal reasons. One of those is that now that Insomnium is getting bigger and more well known he cant keep up with his business life ( Insomnium ) and his private life ( family ). He also has a new born son coming up so he wants to be there for the family. Lets all appreciate his departure and thanks him for the great years he gave us with his awesome and killing guitar skills \m/.

At first, I didn't like the cleans that much, but after a few times listening it starts to grow on me.. It isn't the Insomnium I knew, but actually, that is a good thing.. They improve and try new things :)
The singer sounds like Johan Egg from Amon Amarth... -.- that's why you people like it so much. Cuz they sound like the greatest band ever.
It seems like this cd is going back to their roots, alot of arpeggio-like rifs. I really wish they had kept with the style from across the dark.

KILLER FUCKIN BAND MAN!! My favourite, At the Gates of sleep, IMO is the best melodic metal song ever written!
Cool riffs great melodies and great guitar works and drumming. Really like the growls. Yeah I have to see them when the come to the USA this fall with Epica. To not see this band is a shame. Why I never checked them out before I will never know. But they have that true Melodic death metal feel that DT and old In Flames made. So I don't know what there is to not like.
