However Markus has brought something truly magical into this band in a way that no one else has before. This solo along with many others is solid proof of that, I want to cry every time I get to that part because its just so beautiful.

I'm a man but I've also cried listening to this song.
Same honestly. I remember when I went through a nasty breakup this song held me together with the simple line of "Hope in despair". Really really powerful stuff... still burns my heart with the brand of passion.
I find their songs really calming. The melody, the singing, the screaming is just... I can't even express how amazing it is.
4:30 I see that as the light at the end of a long and dark tunnel. The sun comes out and your life can return to light and happiness after a long winter of despair and sorrow.

This song is a timeless classic, even before I was a big Black Metalhead this song probably helped spur me into loving heavy stuff but this song is so well made and it's such a mesmerising story inside itself. Its a classic song that will never get a old and will never be forgotten.

So epic
Usually I rock out hard core to death metal songs, but this one's different today. My best friend lost a friend yesterday, and she's really lost. After I talked with her and comforted her last night, this song doesn't sound the same. It sounds more beautiful, for some reason. Just the notes that are used, and the lyrics give it a deeper meaning to me as I help a friend in mourning. The lyrics about the stars are especially meaningful because my friend believes that her friend now shines with the stars. It's so beautiful.
This is the beauty of music, finding a personal connection past everything and embracing it. I mean, Insomnium do such an amazing job crafting and weaving melodies in and out with the fantastic lyrics, but to grasp that and find a deeper, personal touch? There is no greater feeling in the world (to me at least), especially within the realms of music. No words can describe it, it must be experience and once it has, damn, such a realm of beauty.
Sorry to hear about your friends loss, truly a tough time, but when they have friends like you, it makes the whole transition not feel like a lonesome uphill battle.

How can someone dislike this man? i mean yeah everybody has a right to their own opinion etc etc but seriously..i'd listen to this all day even if i would've never heard melodic death metal before.and this video has a really dark souls style feel to it,been watching it on a repeat.the lyrics are especially emotionally connectable,WAY better than the usual lyrics about lost love (in concern of majority of metalcore bands these days) really inspiring stuff.fuckin love it. \m/
It reminded me of dark souls as well for some reason. Also, I'd like to say that this is the only band that hasn't produced a song that I didn't like. The riffs blow my mind and the lyrics always have real meaning behind them, even if it's not so obvious the first time. Niilo is a poet.

After hearing this, it has restored my love for Insomnium. I definitely hear more of their older elements coming through, which is good as it reminds me why I listened to this band in the first place. They've taken on a good direction with this song and the lyrics, as in vintage Insomnium fashion, are really deep, thoughtful, significant. If this is a sample of the product of their new album... I really can't wait to hear more.
