the volume of work the stones did will still be listened to in a hundred. years, consider in the future listening to Mothers little helpers as a song to listen to. another great choice of tunes.
Hello guys, it's one of my favorite songs by the Rolling Stones. I hope you react more to them. They are very good. Greetings. Hugs.listen to the studio song it's very good
This is not about music, it has got nothing to do with the Rolling Stones, it’s about violence, too much drugs and basically sensation. Okay, in a way it’s historical but not what you want to see. Good and honest reaction from you!
It's well worth watching the entire Gimme Shelter movie. It's a great film. It's not only about the Altamont free concert, but the later stages of the Stones legendary 1969 U.S tour, which also provided their Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out live album from MSG. The original studio version is on the Stones 1966 album, Aftermath. It's a classic. The original has a totally different groove, thanks to a incredibly funky bass part courtesy of Bill Wyman. Brian Jones' marimbas and Charlie Watts' drums are the other standouts.
It actually shows that guy getting stabbed on this very clip. At the very end, look for the guy in the lime green suit. You can see the Hells Angel plunge the knife into his head. If youd wached one more minute of this clip, the videographer slows down the clip for Mick.
Love this song and also some girls these 2 songs are out of place in America today but in 1970's was perfectly normal..and the stones had some crazy concerts with the Hells angels gang at almost every concert
The Dead never played. They pulled out upon arrival and news of the violence. In the documentary, Santana drummer Michael Shrieve tells them that Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane got knocked out.
@@fuchsiaswing8545 that's true I saw the documentary The Grateful Dead got there and Jerry Garcia thought there was a crazy vibe, I've seen Grace slicks interview, I meant bands that were there you are correct that the Dead didn't go on stage.
There are a lot of books about Altamont, but the best two are by people who were there, Stanley Booth, and Sam Cutler, who include detailed accounts along with a lot of other fascinating information about The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, and others.
I think we have way way to much Violence around the World and in US to see Hells Angels Drug Killing Tugs that actually killed someone at that Concert!
I think most of the stuff went down when they were playing "Sympathy for the Devil", that's the clip I always see from this show. The Hell's Angels were hired for security and someone got stabbed in the crowd. Oh yeah, late 60's were volatile times in America, it's amazing nothing like this happened at Woodstock, but it happened here instead. Drugs, hippies, Hell's angels. Bad mix.
Nope not much security back then they were very very much more accessible back then for sure! & i mean for ALL bands back then (could be wrong but dont think so someone will correct me if i am wrong heh)
The rolling Stones hired the Oakland chapter of the hells Angels for security. Which was a bad mistake because they knew what they were about. It was a bad mistake. And somebody died.
The tension and bad vibes are apparent in the performance. This song was on the Aftermath album and the studio version had a slightly faster tempo and a much healthier vibe. Altamont was a disaster.
The day music changed from 'Love and Peace' into something else in a few short months. . I don't why to this day. Money probably? I wish I was back there because now going to some live music is awful.
The Altamont concert was a huge mistake from planning through execution. The people who planned it wanted to appease the Hell's Angels in order to prevent any bad incidences from occurring so they basically hired the group to provide security, thinking they wouldn't cause any trouble. They were wrong. From the very started of the concert the Hells Angels pushed people around, and if anyone pushed back they were in a fight. Several people were injured. It was a nightmare, and the Stones regretted everything about it. I don't think the recording is very good either - for a song like Under My Thumb the original studio version is much better,
Like The Stones ….Never liked this song. Even back in the mid-60’s, when I was a teen, I found it so demeaning to the woman. “Only Speaks when she’s spoken to”. YUCK. And that was before feminism was even a thing. Other than the lyrics, I’ve always liked the instrumentation of the song.
Altamont was a disaster, a lot of bad shit going down with some bad choices being made by the management. "under my thumb" deserves better than this people.
This is really a great song, but that guy?! My goodness, that is not a good look. Mick and the rest of band must have been quite nervous to say the least!
You need to stop reacting to live versions of songs as your first listen. Bands spend enormous amounts of money on producing songs in the studio to get them the way they want them to sound and almost no live version is going to come close to the studio version. ESPECIALLY Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Jimmy Page spent days putting those songs together to be listened to on the studio album, and he was a genius at it. But this video (the one you're reacting to, not your reaction) is a great example. It's garbage. It's a terrible version of the song, in no way representative of the original studio version and the video is bad too. And the sound is bad. Studio versions first. Live versions after. The only exceptions would be songs from the Albums Time Fades Away by Neil Young and Running on Empty by Jackson Browne because a both of those albums contain all new songs recorded live and there aren't studio versions.
If that’s the case, it’s rather amazing that they’ve been filling arenas and stadiums for 60 years then. Do you think most people might disagree with you? I’ve never seen them, so can’t speak from personal experience. Just going by the stats.
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 I didn't care for their concerts after the mid '70s or so, they basically put on a show that makes them look like their own tribute band.
This is a reaction channel that I watch and enjoy because of the two loveable human beings running it.
one of my favourite Stones tracks
the volume of work the stones did will still be listened to in a hundred. years, consider in the future listening to Mothers little helpers as a song to listen to. another great choice of tunes.
The man in green at the end was the one that was stabbed to death.
i wish they had found a different version.
The last 15 seconds of that video , The black gentleman in the lime green suit was stabbed to death ! The other guy took way too much LSD !
Hello guys, it's one of my favorite songs by the Rolling Stones. I hope you react more to them. They are very good. Greetings. Hugs.listen to the studio song it's very good
Yeah, invite the Hells Angels to provide security... what could go wrong?
This is not about music, it has got nothing to do with the Rolling Stones, it’s about violence, too much drugs and basically sensation. Okay, in a way it’s historical but not what you want to see. Good and honest reaction from you!
Whilst under siege and chaos all around them the Stones could play like the Devil here
My favourite version of Under my thumb
The night mick jagger told the hells angels what to do ..legendary concert

Guy in the green suit was stabbed because he pulled out a gun. Proven in court, Hells Angel was found Not Guilty.
It actually shows that guy getting stabbed on this very clip. At the very end, look for the guy in the lime green suit. You can see the Hells Angel plunge the knife into his head. If youd wached one more minute of this clip, the videographer slows down the clip for Mick.
🎉Why the Altamont version??? Their worst moment.
This is from the infamous Altamont concert desember 1969.
Greatest Rock n Roll band ever 🤘
Great piece of footage. Tense situation, could turn explosive any second. Listen to studio version!!!!!
And "She's so Cold ".
Love this song and also some girls these 2 songs are out of place in America today but in 1970's was perfectly normal..and the stones had some crazy concerts with the Hells angels gang at almost every concert
All the bands that played that day including the Grateful Dead and Jefferson airplane, said there was a bad vibe.
The Dead never played. They pulled out upon arrival and news of the violence. In the documentary, Santana drummer Michael Shrieve tells them that Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane got knocked out.

Dude was ready to turn into a warewolf
whoever thought hiring the Hell's Angels as security should win the Darwin Award.
The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane recommended the Angels for security, as both bands often used them for their gigs.
There are a lot of books about Altamont, but the best two are by people who were there, Stanley Booth, and Sam Cutler, who include detailed accounts along with a lot of other fascinating information about The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, and others.
STREETHEART Under my thumb try this cover .. Cheers !
You really should do a different version of this song. I hate it when reactors do live versions.
YES!

The Hells Angel's were hard core BAD BOYS that evolved from a WW2 Veterns cycle club to a stone cold criminal organization. Scary dudes.
TUNE‼️✌🏻🏴
raw and real. when nucle heads. ruin a good time. yet stones kept it pro. shit happens. all artists expect it. good review.
There was an 18years old boy killed in front of the cene under that song.
That guy had about 5 x doses of L S D and tripping and talking to his long gone mother
Reaction to Kiss - I Was Made For Loving You
SORRY, BUT REALLY WISH YOU WOULD HAVE LISTEN TO THE STUDIO VERSION, CANT FINISH WATCHING THIS PODCAST
ROCK ON 👊🖖

I normally listen to the album version first. I don't think this is the best version of this song. But, hey, this is your choice. Thanks.
please react to porcupine tree....Arriving Somewhere But Not Here

Considered the bad boys back then and the Beatles were the wholesome good guys at that time.
Like Ford and Chevrolet, you had to choose, you couldn't like both.
Check out Streetheart version, Mick Jagger himself said it's better than their own
I see Mick had a hard time keeping his vocals going when that guy looked like he was getting angry. He missed at least one line.
Looks like he took the brown acid

But what about the woman in the song who is demeaning the man? It's about getting back at her.
So brave.
Altamont was a disaster, a lot of bad shit going down with some bad choices being made by the management.
"under my thumb" deserves better than this people.
Biker gangs (yes, I said gangs, not clubs) have mommy issues.
not a good video to review the group and the music
This is really a great song, but that guy?! My goodness, that is not a good look. Mick and the rest of band must have been quite nervous to say the least!
Great reactions. You have to do “ under my thumb” by streetheart. It will blow you away !🤯🤯🔥🔥🤯🤯please❤❤❤
i wish you had chosen a different video for this song. I don't need to see a guy stabbed to death to enjoy the song.
Studio version is MUCH better!!

This live version is garbage - studio version way better.
The live versions from the 1969 Tour are awesome.
I loved The Rolling Stones in the 60s and early 70s. After that l completely lost interest in them. They were never very good live.
If that’s the case, it’s rather amazing that they’ve been filling arenas and stadiums for 60 years then. Do you think most people might disagree with you? I’ve never seen them, so can’t speak from personal experience. Just going by the stats.
I've seen them. Not impressed. Just my opinion. I realize many many think they're great live. Whatever makes them happy. 👍
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 I didn't care for their concerts after the mid '70s or so, they basically put on a show that makes them look like their own tribute band.
The best live act ever .
