'Jesus Just Left Chicao' another great early ZZTOP....
yeah tres hombres Album =masterpiece
There is nothing better than watching your reactions and seeing and hearing the music of my youth through your eyes and ears. I’ve been following you both for the last few years and I always smile and even cry sometimes. This 68 year old man loves and appreciates you both so much. Thank you 😊 and keep those reactions coming 🙏♥️
These guys were something special, been diggin' them since the beginning. This is one of the most infectious songs of all times. Terrific reaction!
Old school zz top. Love it.
LOL -- World's coolest advertisement for a brothel!
Maaaarvin Ziiiindler - EYEwitness News!
Where the Pearl necklaces and the parties on the patio never stopped...
That Tres Hombres album put them on the charts and in our hearts for life! React to Jesus Just Left Chicago and Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers next. and ... CRANK IT UP!
We had the same reaction in 73. We later learned that he mimicking blues legend John Lee Hooker with the deep vocal calls.
You can see John Lee Hooker performing in The Blues Brothers" movie.
Us old guys had the best music
I once broke up with a guy because he said he didn't like ZZ Top. No self-respecting Texas girl can go out with a guy who doesn't like ZZ Top. So funny, I've seen a lot of reactors that really don't get the band, but you two seem to really feel it , that's appreciated from a real Texas girl. Love you guys. There was a movie made about this, it's called "The best little whore house in TX. 'It has Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds in it.
Do the combo, both songs go together-’Waiting for the Bus’/ ‘Jesus Just Left Chicago’ more lyrics there to hear and some more great musical skills!
This is the ZZ TOP that I love. Raw and in your face.
I'm from Texas. I've met Billy Gibbons and the late, great Dusty Hill. I saw them for the first time as a 10 year old in a teen club in my hometown, Groves, Texas in 1970. I've seen them 16 times since.... They are Texas legends❤😊
Yes, the Townhouse. My wife grew up on Graves Ave..
La Grange sounds like range. It was a song about a bordello in the town that everybody knew about including law enforcement!!! When it was found out to be true it was closed down! There was a stage play and movie made! "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas!!" LOL! They're all Texas guys unfortunately the bass player, Dusty Baker, passed away a few years ago but not before my son saw them in Chicago the year before he died! Great band!
Dusty Hill was the bassist who sadly died.
I was hoping someone would let Andre in on it, lol 😆
The Chicken Ranch just outside of La Grange.
The drummer was not from Texas.
@@meyers7the chicken ranch what's a brothel just outside of Reno... Not Texas.
Fun fact. The drummer is the only one without a beard. Yet his name is Frank Beard. Haha. Love yall. I'm Polish. From Texas.
That's my favorite ZZ Top song off of my favorite ZZ Top album! Check out the rest of "Tres Hombres". The whole album is great. I love you guys! Haw, haw, haw, haw!
Pure Texas Blues. A lotta music, for three boys from Texas.
"Pearl Necklace" should be on the list from ZZ Top.
"I Thank You" is a good one as well 😊
Best little old band in Texas!!!
I'm so glad you've checked out the album cut first. Great reaction as always, I enjoy you two immensely.
I hope you can review "Waitin' for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago". You will love it, I'm sure.
Superb - and 'Master of Sparks'
Yes the album cut, I totally agree! The radio version with that echo chamber was terrible, even though it was the same recording but without it the song sounds so much tighter and nasty. The first time I played this album as a 21 yr old I my mom who normally didn't like loud rock opened my door and said, hey that's boogie woogie! She was a big fan of that style of music.
Good choices
Waitin' For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago is a must hear! 🔥🔥🔥 Y'all are just too cute!!! 🤣😎 Janet from Louisiana ☮🖤🤘
Thank you Janet ☺️
🇬🇧
ZZ Top really were something else ❤🎼
Blue Jean Blues is one of their best songs.
Texas blues! Bad azz rockers
I loved watching you react to a song I've loved for over fifty years!
This may seem really esoteric, but because the drums are so iconic on this song and it’s been on the radio so often, you notice: this version sounds like the original, where the drums are powerful but kinda flat, no echo. Then for YEARS the only version you heard was a remix that put tons of reverb on the drums. It was like, why?? And then not that long ago, suddenly that version disappeared and (what sounds like) the original drum sound restored.
It’s why you listened to the beginning again; waiting for that drum fill is such sweet anticipation even when you know it’s coming. Whose idea was it to f with that?? Anyway great reaction of an all time classic. Super American. Top 10 thing from Texas. ZZTop are the longest running American band in history with all original members.
A big "How, How, How", back atcha, from Dallas!
Another great song from that little ole band from Texas.
Something Naughty, hilarious love of the rhythm.
Great band , many more ,keep going.
I love your reaction, it is genuine and natural! 🤩 "My Music", my Time, a great Time.
The early stuff from "That Little Ole Band From Texas" is awesome!
Yes agree❤
ZZ top is an example of TEXAS BLUES. In the US, there is Chicago blues, Memphis blues, Texas blues, Delta blues, New Orleans blues.........Jimmy Hendrix called Billy Gibbons (guitar/vocals) "The future of rock and roll".
80's ZZ vs 70's ZZ ...so different.
70s ZZ.....is TOPS!!
🤘😎
Same with J. Geils Band.
Yep, these guys r PHENOMENAL‼️ To this day they’re on our playlist! Sure was a blast to grow up during those days!✌🏻😎
Got to rewind the voice and drums intro in the song, shows how well impressed were you folks, lot of fun. That drumming sound, in the snare drum like ghost notes is the Texas shuffle style, as well. The guitar licks and deep pitch voice from Gibbons, are the signature, the Trade mark of the song. Cheers,... lot of fun and rockin`.
You two are both hilarious and fantastic. I truly love your videos.
Thank you so much! 😊
"pearl necklace" great zz topp song
Lol, you guys are too funny. It’s about a place were women of the evening entertain you.😂
Omigosh,y’all are so fun! Andre was channeling his inner ZZ Top (it’s the beard😄) --These guys had so many fantastic songs. I came in late to their music, from the 80s time. That was enough rock-n-roll but had no clue they had been making music for years. 🔥😎🤘🔥
Oh yeah the merchants of Alba is taking us to Texas😊
You are correct about the lyrics. The song is about a famous brauthle in La Grange Texas. if course it's no longer there so it's safe to move out to that area... 😅
the same brauthle was made famous in a movie , a comedy called
" The best little whore house in Texas"
which featured Dolly Parton.
👍
Time keeps on ticking...
Going through a box of old ticket stubs not long ago. I was blessed. My first rock concert:
May 19, 1973 (lol yeah, I'm old, but still above the dirt...)
East Tennessee State University
Rory Gallagher
ZZ Top
$4
It was about two months before Tres Hombres, with this song on it, came out. (Dusty Hill's 24th birthday, I came to find out on his passing) It was Festival Seating and I managed to get about 15 feet from mic center. Rory Gallagher was pure fire right out of the gate, and his band was phenomenal. (particularly Lou Martin on his electric piano) Rory was amazing to see play and I think that he had as much fun as anyone. Then, Billy Gibbons and the boys came out. Back when they were the most badass blues rock band that ever was. Straw hats, jeans, no beards (but Frank. lol), and BG in a white tshirt w/ pack of Marlboros rolled up in the sleeve(lol). Needless to say, Rory and Billy made a big impression on a 16 yr old. Blues rock, slide guitar nut ever since.
RIP Rory, Rod, Lou, & Dusty. Thank You!
Keep Rockin' Billy, Frank, & Gerry
One of those roadtrip songs that can end up with speeding tickets 😂😂😂😈 Blue Jeans blues is another good one
One of the all time great guitar riffs.
Ah - HOW, HOW, HOW, HOW!!! LOVE IT!!! Lil' Ole Band From Texas!! LOVE THEM!!! ENJOY!!! HUGS from TEXAS!!!
Glad y'all did the studio version!
🎯 First time I’ve ever seen you do a “rewind!!!” Obviously, this song left a mark…it scarred your soul…in a good way‼️
Like we used to say in High School…’73 Rules!!!
Welcome to one of the top 3 riffs of all time. And Billy Gibbons is an underrated beast on the guitar.
Billy is a top-notch blues player, with accolades from Buddy Guy, BB King... And Jimi Hendrix his self. So much better than people give him credit for.
What a song! Just one of my many high school favorites. You had to be a musical genius in the 70's to compete. Love your reactions as always.
Try some of their others, I Heard it on the X, Blue Jean Blues, Mexican Blackbird, My Head’s in Mississippi, I Got’s to Get Paid, the list goes on……
I saw them in 1973. I remember it well. It was three days before I went into the military at age 17.
Howdy from Houston! The naughty vibe for ZZ Top is understood. 😅 The song is about a chicken ranch that was shut down in the '70's. There is a movie called "The Best Little Wh*rehouse in Texas" (kind of a comedy). The same place as in this song.
Outstanding, love Mr Beards drumming on this!!
Old School 70’s ZZ Top more Bluesy Rock! You guys are the best😁❤️
I’m loving your reaction to ZZ , you need more!!!! The early albums were so good… tejas was my first 8 track… dive in and enjoy….😂
This is one of the coolest, most unique songs ever. I'd love to hear your thoughts on their Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. 🤞🤞
Great Texas band, as a native Texan myself I've been following them since the 70s
Your smiles says everything
Albania...
Welcome to Texas..!
No one better to greet you than the tress hombres, some home grown true blue Tejanos. More ZZ Top.!!
Next song, Tush.
This my friends is the essence of what ZZ Top is. Trivia....in late 69 or early 70 Jimi Hendrix was asked who he thought the best guitarist in the world was. He said, definitely it was Billy Gibbons (ZZ top lead guitar). Coming from the greatest that's a pretty huge compliment.
One of my first concerts! Peace, Love!!
Love your reaction ❤! This is true American music! Blues, Rock, and whatever else all mixed in together!
I saw ZZ Top 5 times starting in 1984 and the last in 2012. Always a great show. I remember when I first heard them on the radio back in 1974.😊
FANTASTIC ZZ TOP song!! I've seen ZZ Top live 3 times. Such a GREAT band!! ❤❤
Man, I love LaGrange!
You guys are the best - I love watching your reactions. I'll admit I don't watch when I don't like the song you're doing but for a song as good (and different) as LaGrange I knew you would have a very fun reaction - and as usual you didn't disappoint. Thanks for that.
This is called a Texas shuffle. 1/2 1/2 1/2 anyone can move to this, its infectious.
"I Need You Tonight" from their Eliminator album. Smoooooth blues/rock!
Billy Gibbons, who does vocals and guitar on this song, still has a guitar Jimi Hendrix gave him when he was about 19. 1970s ZZ TOP is the best. This album starts with “Waitin’ On the Bus/ Jesus Just Left Chicago” (they have to be played together), into “Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers”. All great. “Just Got Paid”, “Blue Jean Blues”, “Heard It On The X”, “Tush”, “Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings”. Great Texas blues-rock.
Thank you 😊
Seen ZZ Top so many times in the 70s. Hill went to our High School in Dallas.
Your reactions are priceless! Great song!thanks 😊
An all-time classic!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!! Your first time hearing this!! SO MUCH JOY!!! These guys have SWAGGER!!! Definitely listen to Waitin’ for the Bus/Jesus just left Chicago. Let them play back to back. It made my day watching the groove overcome you.😎🥃
Watching you from the Pacific NW,USA!
I must admit... I prefer this straight blues sound of ZZ Top over the 80s stylized pop version. The 80s songs were catchy, but the blues songs are my favorite era of the band. For additional listening pleasure, try Just Got Paid.
I was overseas in the service in 73, very popular, definitely a rocker!!
I saw them live in concert in 1973 with a front-row seat right in front of the guitar player Billy Gibbons. He's the middle guy in that picture. They were LOUD! My ears are still ringing. lol! It was worth it though. We wore that album out! 🙂
Legends of rock.
Thank God you stopped smoking… wanna see u guys on here for a long time! great reaction
Great reaction guys. This is from their Tres Hombres album early on in their career when they were more bluesy with their sound. As a great follow-up to this you MUST react to 'Waitin' for the Bus' and 'Jesus Just Left Chicago'. They need to be listened to back to back as one rolls into the next. Both are short songs so it works out well. Keep up the great work!
70's ZZ Top is the best ✌️& ❤️ y'all need to listen to their song " cheap sunglasses"
Every time I hear this song it makes me feel like a complete bad ass
If you want some Texas Biker Music try "Just got Paid" by ZZ Top. Also the Name ZZ Top is named after two different brands of rolling papers. Zig Zag and Top. I think you can guess what they were used for.
its actually a tribute to great blues man John Lee Hooker who did it first on boogie chillen and boom boom and he started the whole "how how how" thing
I know Dominika is going to like this, it’s a banger🔥
This is always part of what we refer to as "road music" among many others when we're driving the highways out in the Western U.S.
A classic John Lee Hooker boogie. That 'Haw Haw Haw' was a hat tip to him. Cheers, --bd
That was fun! Thanks for sharing.
They have so many good songs. As you loved this one try their songs Blue Jean Blues, Beer drinkers and hell raisers, Cheap Sunglasses, Tush, Tube Snake Boogie.
Absolutely one of my favorite reactions ever! Love ZZ TOP. Yes,its too short though. RIP Dusty Hill.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁💚👍
For another treat, watch Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top lead vocal/guitar) perform this on Daryl's House. You get a first hand look at what a cool dude Billy is.
The first time I saw ZZ Top was in the early 70's at the Stardust Ballroom (a converted bowling alley) in Corpus Christi, Texas . The cost of admission was $1.00 per person. I was also mistaken for Billy Gibbons once in a "head' shop in Kingville, Texas. I never could convince the guy I was not Billy. A lot of sound from 2 guitarists and a drummer. They went on to sell over 50 million albums...
I now live in Texas....originally from Maine, I'm proud of my new home and the music that has come out of this state.
My intro into Southern Rock. 16 years old and I slid right into ZZ Top Marshal Tucker Almond Brothers Charlie Daniel’s Lynard Skynard. Etc… 🎵 🎼 🎶
Nice reaction you guys! 😎
That down beat guitar riff is what gets me.
Great reaction! Thanks.
There evolution over 50 years is Amazing
LaGrange has maybe the best groove ever of any song.
Texas Rock Blues at it's best with ZZTOP, SRV and Others.... It's amazing they charted for so many years.. Texas is so unique with outlaw country as well.. Then came Pantera... Even first psychedelic rock band.. 13th floor elevators..
I’m predicting more ZZ Top on this channel!🤘🏻
When I first heard this on the radio back in 1973, I froze! I had no clear idea what was being said, but I did not care. After all, those lyrics were just the breadcrumbs leading to that fantastic, dirty guitar solo. Years later, when I returned to college and later graduate school, I associated the song with the great Italian/French mathematician Lagrange.
I liked their later hits ("Cheap Sunglasses", "Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs") but nothing else hit me the way "La Grange" did.
