Which one should I go for(if I am planning to use it for at least a couple of years)?
Will the a6000 going to be outdated after a couple of years(considering that it was launched in 2014), or, it can still give really good results for a couple of more years to come?

The A6000 for purely photography is still very relevant. I even use it for my unboxing videos👍 But just for photography this still packs a great punch.
The A6100 is the better one and more future proof when it comes down to both photography and making some videos.
If I was you I'd start with the A6000, get a nice lens, and see if you like photography without breaking the bank
From the video seems a6000 auto focus is much faster than a6100.

Of course, you can't compare AF 4K and 2K. But with the same settings, the a6100 is most likely the better camera in terms of autofocus.

I think a6100 is a successor if budget allowed. The video feature is really not too bad compared to current a6300 and so on. Great improvement compared to 5 years before.
I agree! I think even that A6100 would be a better choice as there is no overheating issues and unlimited recording.
Also the price is dropping really fast!

One of my favorite lenses is the Sigma 30mm f1.4
But firstly make sure to use the kitlens and check what kind of focal length you usually are in to. Maybe you like more wide angle stuff or only telephoto stuff 😃
Great video! Do you think that the Sony a6100 has much more value than a Sony a6000 considering the 350 euros price difference? I am an amateur photographer, I will never be professional but I like trying more complex photos like astrophotography and high exposures. My intention was to get a full experience from a camera right now and maybe, if needed, improve it in the next 5 years when I will have a job and more money 😜. At the moment I have a Nikon D3200 and I wanted to make a big step into the Mirrorless world and I fear that the a6000 isn't a big step after all. What do you think about this?

I still use the A6000 and for its image quality it can easily rival up against newer camera's. Also depends on the lenses that you use 😉

Depending on what kind of photography, but for USD 195, I'd go with the A6000 and invest in lenses and the editing and photography itself

Hi Mike! I use the kitlens (16-55) and an Sigma 30mm f2.8
The focus speed of the A6100 is a bit quicker, but in that little showcase it seems that the A6000 was quicker indeed. But in overal the A6000 was already known for fast AF!

But the white balance was set on AUTO. So they behave differently I suppose.

Hi there, well it depends on what you're planning to photograph as well. If you are just taking photos from non moving objects then the A6000 will be more than enough. If you need more speed and planning to do more video as well then the A6100 is a nice choice.
But if you want touchscreen the Canon EOS M50 is a great option as well. It's not as fast as the Sony A6000 or A6100 but maybe plenty for your needs 🤓

@@manthan7535 Both are really good. I owned both actually for quite some time and still have the A6000 but the reason for me to stay with Sony was the E mount. It's just very convenient to have just one mount and have a huge selection of all these lenses.
You may want to go to a camera store or electronics store to have a feel for both cameras 😃
But for me, for photography, the A6000 is a real solid choice

Hi Melissa! Ik zou gaan voor de A6100 omdat deze gewoonweg de betere camera is. En voor lenzen zou ik gaan voor een goede zoomlens zoals de Sony 18-105mm F4. Dan heb je een mooi bereik :) Let wel op dat deze lens niet zo sterk is in wat donkere omstandigheden. De nieuwe 16-55mm f2.8 is ook een goede alternatief, maar dan is je bereik iets minder.
Daarnaast een sterke telezoom zoals de 70-350mm dan ben je zeker van dat je alles kan fotograferen en zelfs kan filmen mocht je dat willen.

Can you recommend a good , also relatively inexpensive lens to pair with the a6000? I can currently get the a6000 for like $300 which I would definitely like to jump on. I _was_ considering an a6100, and someone recommended the Sigma 16 f/1.4 to go with it. Just curious. I'm not sure if I can find a good deal on it, and if not it would be more expensive than the body lol. Oh and this will be my first camera beyond a smartphone. I like to do a variety of things, some closeups, some shots from a few feet away, some more distant stuff. Mostly nature photography. Thanks!
$300 bucks for the A6000 is a sweet deal! The Sigma 30mm f1.4 would be a better lens as that is more versatile. I even used that lens on weddings. Also that is a lens that you can find below the $300 mark.
What I'm using lately is an older Sigma lens, the 30mm f2.8
Those can be found around $150 or even less.

@@christopherpape4823 as you mentioned you want to do a variety of things. With a 30mm you can do that, it's almost as what you see with your own eyes.

Can you please let me know which camera - Sony ZV E10/Sony A6100 or Canon M50 Mark ii is better for photography including low light performance? Or are both cameras equally good as far as photography is concerned?

The one I'd get in your situation is the A6100, it has great overal performance and if really needed you can still use the built in flash to get the shot in low light conditions as well 👍👍👍

@@ayushp5323 No problem 😃 Well because you mentioned low light and for me the higher iso performance of the Sony were much cleaner and more useable. In good lighting conditions and right lenses the Canon is much more easier to work with. Hope this helps. If you are already invested in Canon then stick with Canon 😃

Hi, that was the sigma 30mm F2.8 😃 It's quite an old lens, but very affordable if you can still find it.
I've never used a Sony A5000, so I cannot give any advice on that.
The Sony A6000 with kit lens is actually really good for talking head vids. But you do need to have a external microphone to have decent audio and somewhat nice lights to make the video look nice.

Is better the sony a6000 + 16mm 1.4 + ultrawide monitor 29 inch or 6100+16mm 1.4 without the monitor? I shoot general photo (landscape,astro etc) but also some video (amatorial, but my intentions are doing music video in future)
The A6100 + 16mm f1.4, make money with that and then invest in wide monitor if needed 😃
Especially for video the A6100 is a stronger choice

From what I have seen, the a6000 still worth it. The color science is not so great that I've expected. I am music video first...with a good lighting, no problem with the color of the a6000. I would go for a6400 or a6300.
In think that Sony can just updates the a6000 by firmware and give us the specs on the a6100...but they love money...
@@kptalteamtv6084 yeah exactly, with the right lighting there is not much of a difference between these two. But if you want to have more room in editing/color grading then the A6400 is better. I wouldn't go with the A6300 because of the overheating issues.

Thank you! Yeah it is totally up to you. The A6000 still provides some nice quality photos but it age shows in autofocus, the processor and overall speed of the camera.
It's more or less like smartphones, where there is some improvements but actually quite minor :)

I have the a6000 and I’ve been debating on purchasing the a6100. I love my camera, but I want the front facing screen. Not sure if that’s a good enough reason to spend the money.

I would only upgrade from the A6000 if you need a little bit faster camera, with eye autofocus, 4k video without any record limitations, the flip up screen and microphone input.

@@mitadru100 if you shoot in RAW then you can get any color you want. But JPEG are better with the A6100.
So it depends on your own workflow. I still use the A6000 and I shoot in RAW. Nobody sees the difference even compared to newer cameras.

Iam confused coz apparently I don't like wide angle lenses at all and am more into telephoto lenses that can double up as a potriat lens with smooth bokeh.
I was thinking of buying the sony f1.8 50mm for my a6000 but now am looking for a good telephoto lens but they are freaking expensive 🤦♂️

Yeah it gets expensive really fast.
You may want to check some cheaper alternatives such as the Viltrox 85mm f1.8 which is a short telephoto lens.
But for normal telephoto lenses you may need to save up some cash 🤗🤗

That 4K footage from 6100 is more life like 😮 but the autofocus was a lot faster in 6000. Maybe bcz of 1080p vs 4K processing.
