Collecting Birch Sap

This video will show how I collect birch tree sap using a very cheap kit that I purchased from Amazon.
This is a very fun spring activity to do here in MN when temperatures hit 45F to 50F.
You could always motivate yourself into taping for birch sap by reading about the numerous health benefits of sap on the web. Among many, its rich in minerals such as zinc. And it’s a natural source of electrolytes such as potassium and magnesium. This will flush out toxins and excess fluids, and boosts immunity and reduces inflammations.

What Birch Tree variety is that? Paper? River?

I have Silver Birch and Paper Birch? Very similar trees. However, River Birch is more brownish instead of whitish, and yes, you can tap into River Birch Sap.
