Your right it is small but knock on wood ours has been very reliable as well and it does a great job shelling

I have a question. the corn that you are harvesting with the picker, what livestock do you feed that to? is it just a portion of the animals diet, or their entire diet? I'm always interested in learning about crops that I was unfamiliar with.

We pick the whole ear and then store it in a open wire grain bin to dry. We grind the entire ear of corn and mix in soybeans, oats and minerals to make a ration for our sheep and lambs. We feed our sheep and lambs grain. Our cows are all grass fed. The sheep and lambs also have hay and alfalfa that we feed them too.
Good video! I don't want to seem rude or inapropiate but are you actually doing work with these old machines or is it just for show purpose? Why aren't you buying new ones? Thanks!

They quit making corn pickers in the late 80s. They simply don't make a corn picker in the US anymore. If you want ear corn, you will be using 30 year old equipment.
If you look at the other videos on this channel you will find a brand new Krone discbine and a brand new hay tedder.
The 4020 in this video is the most popular tractor of all time and is 50 years old. The 4020 is highly sought after and will cost from 14k to 20k ... keep in mind the original price was around 10k!
A 4020 simply can't be replaced. It is testimony to how well equipment use to be built.
Thanks for your answer! Seems like a possability for eastern manufacturers on US markets. There are still 3-4 manufacturers for corn pickers but you are right, even here are those kind of machines disapearing. Isn't Oxbo building corn pickers?
Didn't know that the Deere was such a great machine but if it works why not (told you I didn't comment to be picky or arrogant).
Don't have to use gas to dry ear corn.
Beacua s new ones are so expensive. And I love my 4020 and 4450. What is the purpose of ear corn.
Zeus Macafee .... we grind it for feed. Get more feed with the whole ear versus just shell.
