    I noticed this intuitively after using the cup for the first year, sometimes it felt right sometimes it didn’t. That’s why it’s important to have different cups and products for those different days

    I can’t stop seeing the shape of our female reproductive organs as a moose, now. 😆 Truly though, Thank you so much for this info. This helps me understand and prepare for my periods instead of dreading the day of its existence every month. The latter still happens, but at least I have the knowledge to manage it better. 😊

    I was aware that cervix moved as part of the physiological changes that occur during arousal but damn Im really glad to know why some days it's a struggle to get my disc in

    Once you have your cervix height try taking the quiz on periodnirvana.com to find a cup or disc most likely to fit you best. Or check out the other resources we have such as sortable charts (sort by length with or without stem!) and our filterable database.

    I don't wear internal menstrual products, but the cervix moving around would explain why on some days getting impaled by a vase cleaner was more uncomfortable than others, depending where I was on my cycle. Very useful to know

      I would recommend the hello disc then! It’s stem can be flipped, tucked, long depending on where your cervix is on the day, definitely recommend checking it out!

    As someone with treatment resistant endometriosis who can’t use tampons or other insertable menstrual devices because of pain and constant bleeding, I was wondering if you could make a video about types of products that can be used for those issues. I’ve had to experiment a lot, since using pads for a long time (like 2-3 months straight from constant bleeding) can cause severe chafing. I hope the suggestion isn’t too specific, or too out there! Love your content!

      @PoppyUr Рік тому +3

      @@mx_potatohead1326 I’ll definitely try that, especially with it being reusable! Usually I have to use maternity pads but I’ll see if there are any high absorption period underwear. Thanks!

    • @kikoyoyo980
      @kikoyoyo980 Рік тому

      Try using a water- based lubricant. Helps when one is dry down there. Hopefully helps the pad from chafting. 🍀Best of luck.
      One can just use a finger putting the lubricant on the outside part of the vagina.

    Cups are so easy to wear with a little W cervix because I trim all my stems but tampons are so hard to use for me. I have to use the mini ones and even then I wish they were just a cm shorter

  • @Delicate_Disaster
    @Delicate_Disaster Рік тому +3

    I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this, but if we can touch our cervix with a finger or tampon and feel discomfort, how do we not end up in pain while being impaled by a vase cleaner? That tends to be longer than my longest finger is.

    • @carwash9333
      @carwash9333 Рік тому +4

      Well the vase cleaner can actually hit the cervix. If your cervix is very low, or just in an odd position, yeah the vase cleaner can hit it and it does hurt like a bitch. The cervix can actually get bruised from too much blunt force trauma, and will hurt for a few days.
      But in my experience, the vase cleaner actually goes above (towards my frontside) my cervix and goes into the little pocket above it which is the anterior vaginal fornix, aka the A-spot. Sometimes it hits my cervix, sometimes it just goes above it, I still haven't figured out why.
      (I'm not a doctor, just speaking from experience)

    I think mine is low cervix. It gets lower too during mens since i could touch my cervix tip at about half the length of my middle finger. Im using a small cup but had to cut off the entire stem and sometimes even the bottom of the cup peeks out if I squat down.

    I was always too scared to use a cup. I tried using a diaphram in college, and I could not reach my cervix. 10 years later, an obgyn finally told me that my vajajay was longer than typical.

    PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER THIS!!!
    Ok so I do jujitsu (a type of martial art) and I’ve always been terrified whenever I’m on my period and even when I feel fine I’ll still miss practice because I’m afraid that my tampon will leak or pop out or something I’m too embarrassed to ask people I know Irl but does anyone have any tips on how I can do this type of sport without bleeding anywhere or do I just have to take a week off every month because honestly it sucks
    Sorry this is so long any advice is appreciated 😓

    • @pitohui1800
      @pitohui1800 Рік тому +1

      Hey there, I used to do Brazilian Juijitsu and literally all I used then was a pad. Let me tell you, it was hella uncomfortable, but it never leaked. Though, it's a good thing you're using tampons already. My advice if you're nervous: wear your tampon as well as a liner, and use a tight underwear that hugs you. You want to feel as secure as possible, especially when you're grappling.

    • @randomghost3472
      @randomghost3472 Рік тому +1

      THANK YOU
      This definitely makes me feel more secure with trying this out I like the idea of having a liner for extra protection Ig I’ll have to try it out 😅

    • @ohboilien
      @ohboilien Рік тому +1

      I also do contact sport and I can reassure you a tampon will never really just “pop out” - if you’re ever on a toilet try to squeeze it out, it’s really hard. Maybe use a new one right before practice and you should be good :) like the other person said, you can wear a liner or even a pad for extra safety with tight underwear. Happy sporting :)

    I noticed at a certain point in perimenopause that I couldn't wear my cup anymore because my cervix was suddenly too high consistently every month. Does going through peri cause changes in cervical height? I had successfully worn a cup for 4-5 years prior to this. It's very frustrating since I was so happy to have finally found a period product that I did not hate.

    • @kikoyoyo980
      @kikoyoyo980 Рік тому

      Karensalynch,
      Try using a water-based lubricant. Helps the cup go in easy. Applying the lubricant using the pointy finger before inserting cup helps with comfort. I even use the cup on non-period days to catch discharge lubricant, & it makes a big difference. 🍀Best wishes. 41 yo, but not at perimenopause yet.
