Hey Jon, thank you for posting this to make people aware that Ravelco is not the product security it once was. As security systems become easier to defeat people should be made aware. Ravelco gives people a false sense of security and there are much better options to install on vehicles nowadays as you mentioned.
I’m just going to disassemble my drive shaft before I go in the store
I have my ravelco hidden from view and no one is gonna find it.
To those saying this video is promoting car thefts or helping thieves you’re missing the point. This shows a critical security flaw in the device that promises to stop car theft. If this device was truly secure then this video wouldn’t exist. The company should fix this vulnerability and who’s to say thieves didn’t know about this already. If anything this man is just making the general public more aware so they can be informed before purchasing.
It seems to be a staged video
Click this idiots profile picture it’s another anti theft system he clearly seems to be selling his own anti theft system and bashing the Ravelco in hopes to make more sales on his own product
So you just saved me some money...
The average car thief is not going to have the tools or understanding, or even be willing to take the time required to bypass one of these. The reason CAN bus attacks have become so common is because chinese markets have made the barrier to entry so low. A CAN bus attack is literally just a plug and play attack now with a device that you buy for $17 off the internet. This bypass method is not nearly as simple, and the average thief very likely won't know this process or won't want to bother with it. IGLA is an interesting solution but the switching hardware in it is pretty cheap quality and I question whether that's going to hold up for more than just a couple years under the increased usage load once it's installed, without eventually dying. The Ravelco is a much simpler solution that will be effective in the vast majority of cases. It's obviously not completely fool proof (as you've demonstrated), but it does create an extra barrier that is likely good enough.
I'm a former mechanic and I knew how easily I could bypass that thing even with the simple basic test tools I have - or a drill to remove rivets and pop the thing apart. the thief going after the vehicles we refer to aren't "average joy riders". They are equipped and the proof is in the dozen or more thefts talked about in our forums - real people having real Jeeps stolen right in front of cameras and so on. Some recovered later, some never seen again. You don't need a degree and the wiring diagrams are out there for all to find. 5 wires - one a ground you find and ignore, the other 4 you can pretty easily figure out. A Ford truck owner got past his in about 2 minutes. He's not even a tech.
Since you’re in the industry how about sending this to Ravelco??? Make another video talking about it rather than showing what you did. Let’s give thieves even more ammo against the car community.
If you want actual protection then go find an IGLA installer. More videos and more ways to bypass this will be posted in the near future. Stop buying junk and fast dollar gimmicks
How about this? Revelco stop lying on their site stating untrue statements about their product. Then, nothing would have to be proven wrong.
Ravelco has known this since day 1 and so do the people currently stealing them
The guy that made this video is so dumb he post Google reviews on Ravelco from two different accounts that are clearly him
He’s trying to sell his own antitheft system (click his profile picture)
Look at the comment above mine and look at Ravelco Google reviews it’s literally the username above mine
This dude is so pathetic bashing a company that makes a good product
Where are you located
What about compustar how easily or how fast can it be bypassed
Compustar is an alarm theft deterrent. Not an anti theft. Its also only as good as the installer. It can be 10 seconds to 5 minutes to remove though, thats why IGLA is a must
I live in DFW. I’ll buy from someone else now
Ok. Not sure what your referring to or if your saying that because i outlined a false product. But get your self some protection. Doesn’t bother me if you want to buy even igla from someone else. Good day
To reiterate. These videos are not staged not fake and not a scam. The company knows all of this. So now they will sit here and pretend it’s all a scam.
They can continue to lie all they want.
I’m sure the people calling me with a blocked number is part of their organization. Videos will stay up.
In fact. I can show even more details on how bad and a joke the device is.
Making a universal “key” is easy.
Ignition doesn’t need to be turned on.
They can add multiple ground trap wires in plug and it will make it easier. Less wires.
Stand clear. If you don’t have funds to afford better options. Get the gimmick stuff off Amazon and it will work about the same.
What anti theft system would you recommend for a '24 camaro?
Igla and I do them on that vehicle all the time
Manual Trans conversion
What is IGLA?
@@jrambo7495igla is a true hidden device that’s uses the cars communication system to prevent theft. No drilling or cutting of oem wires. Can work in the background. On some vehicles also prevents key Programing.
Iglausa.com
@@JonathanRodriguez-kz6sy how is this better than a $10 kill switch or switches that mechanics recommend? I just bought a new car and I am trying to protect my investment but I don't want to get taken to the cleaners since the dealership already did that.
LET'S GOOOOO! You're the man, I passed up so many because I couldn't figure out the system and wire tracing led to wasted time. I owe you! respect!
You have to have a key in order to get power. hahahah
Actually I don’t. For obvious reasons there is power readily accessible. Same reason I said a valid key is required. I don’t actually need that at first either.
And on a Jeep it takes a minute to program a different FOB. That's how many are stolen - get to the CANbus connectors, program a key, start Jeep, drive away. It's truly that simple. There are also FOB cloners, relay type thefts and so on. Gone are the days of needing THE fob/key. You can program in your own in about a minute.
Some single mom gets her car stolen using this method and that's on you. You're siding with car thieves and this won't drive any business your way.
Now said single mom can find a better anti theft and not rely on something that lies to its customers. Why are you so hurt by the truth coming out?
Why do people talk this nonsense. If a persons car gets stolen by using this snake oil product is that my fault for pointing out the lies and unverifiable data that this company has peddled for years? If a single mom’s car got stolen from the bypass of this device it was probably going to happen with or without this video. Creating a “single mom headline is nonsense “
@@breannahale2386 a single mom won't be able to afford this .
Bruh you guys sound like you know a lot about single moms.
@@Dexirt 'bruh', there's at least 2 women that have commented on this thread,so yes 'bruh', in fact we do know what we're talking about, 'bruh'. Understand, 'bruh'?!
I'm considering purchasing a TRX and it has this device. The dealer is trying to charge extra because of it. I'll tell them to remove it and show this video.
Good call but get something in its place.
Why would you post something like this? Basically helping car thieves. And showing them how to do it😐 Jesus man. Please take this down.
If you think the thief’s don’t know this already you’re mistaken. The device is junk. And will never get better or be as secure as the company tries to pretend it is.
Very very corny yo show this. But at end of the day its enough time to het pop
Showing people how a device that promotes lies after lies is corny. You’re entitled to your opinion. Now the second half of your statement I don’t even understand.
The only winners in this video are car thieves. Nice.
Only dumb theives don't know how to bypass ravelco.
Not really. Another winner is the person who realizes they have this product and it’s not as secure as mentioned or they pretend it to be.
The thief’s already know how to bypass these and just like key Programing has started to spread. Now there is proof to help prevent it. It’s that simple sorry the truth has to be spread to help.
If you think a car thief is too dumb to figure this out and start getting very fast at them quickly, well, that's cool I guess. I expect a lot more for up to 800 dollars than some plastic cap with pins and wires I can bypass with babby's first electrical pulser/tester from Amazon. Strip some wire off almost anything and plug it in like the video, probably takes 30 seconds or less once you're used to it. Offensive security is indeed good as I was considering this unit until I saw what it came with. Not impressed at all now, going with a different setup.
I won, because I'm not going to waste my money on Revelco now. I had already seen another site that dismantled a revelco cap anyway though, so I knew how basic they are.
Why would you post this showing thieves how to do this????
That is not why we made this. The information is already out there. This was made because the company has been lying for 45 years and continues to. They are stolen not only by this method but by a couple more ways too. Ravelco is garbage and always has been. Overcharging for 5 wires, false sense of security and lie after lie
Real simple the products claims are false as well as no better than an Amazon “killswitch”
Only dumb theives don't know how to bypass ravelco.😅
@@JonathanRodriguez-kz6sy I was told it wouldn't be so expensive it wasn't good. Before I set out to test one available to me here, turns out you've already done pretty much exactly what I was going to. Offensive security is good, this thing is far too simple for the insane cost and effectiveness. Good video.
But YOU CAN MAKE THIS POINT WITHOUT POSTING THE EXACT WAY TO DO IT. YOU'RE TEACHING THEIVES HOW TO BYPASS IT. @@Pardoned
You should get sued for every vehicle that’s been stolen by using your video as reference.
Should ravelco get sued for doing the same? They were part of a video that did the same thing. Of course making it seem like their device is top dawg when it was no better than everything else they were defeating
How about they get sued for lying to thousands of customers.
Why show everything? Make your point and do the rest off camera. You made it easy for thieves to now do this. Not cool man.
They already know how to bypass. I figured this out in my head before ever touching one of these garbage devices.
Anyone that know how the 12 volt system works can figure this out. So basically anyone who can wire an amp or set of fog lights can bypass a ravelco device.
@@JonathanRodriguez-kz6syand yet still it was uncool to show the entire thing for those that haven’t yet figured it out.
You’re obviously a dealer/installer for IGLA. Clearly we get the point here. But you don’t need to screw everyone with a ravelco over. Shame on you
Wasn't 30 seconds but ok
Actually if I wasn’t explaining it I can do it in less than 20
