Sorry to hear it spoiled you but the game does such an awful job of hiding this. Every time you load in / out it will say 'Nenio loses bite' in the cat, and she's straight up labelled as a Kitsune on her character sheet.
@@tomd9819 Sorry, but that is not true. Just stumbled onto this video to try to figure out what exactly a "scroll savant" is after just picking up this character. Looking at her character sheet right now. She is listed as human. The only hint on her initial character sheet that this description is false is that she has Keen Senses ability trait (humans can't get that) and if you mouse over her STR, DEX, and INT you will see Keen Kitsune listed under racial buffs. Got to agree spoiler tag would have been appreciated.

I found it fun to go for Loremaster with her, because the Scroll Feats don't really do it for me. You only need 6~ levels in Scroll Savant to go for it. Loremaster gives you some wonderful options with their secrets and it totally fits her character. Plus you got all knowledge and lore checks covered from that point onwards.

tbh im shocked that under the mythic feats section you arent taking the one that just says 'enemies cant ignore damage caused by this element type', in this case fire. Lot of extra damage to be dealt by removing the fire resistance, or even outright immunities.
They just took many different type of elemental damage (ice/electricity and fire) meanwhile most lvl 7 and onward spells deal half of their damage as negative/holy/profane and other type of non resistable energy. Only worthwhile ascendant element is electricity for blackwater (kind of a prerequisite if you don't have a lich or want to be in worlds of pain) and it's the only common immunity you encounter, besides helping one of the best mid tier spell to be even more effective (chain lightning at lvl 6 but doesn't cap before caster level 20 and can aoe on 20 targets which is more than you'll ever encounter). Beside they missed a few things, empower is fine but not that great since i think it still caps at the appropriate spell level, i'm not sure if it bumps up the spell cap or raw damage, so empowered is worthless beyond lvl 15 (hellfire ray cap at 15 or 19 i don't remember) meanwhile selective is really strong on a lot spells that doesn't distinguish between foes and allies, yes it increases the spell level by 2 with the mythic feat but it's the same for empower and you want some spells like sirroco to only hit enemy otherwise you just make everyone prone (enemies tend to have even or better save than you) and if you aim for the backline then you can just blow them up most of the time i think you can just clashing rock them and they're gone or any other lvl 7 and onward spell. Otherwise dimension gate one of your melee dps and he'll murder them too (woljif can do that just fine from lvl 10 onward with a greater invis on)

@@ItsXodious Don't bother going further if they're an issue since they're the weakest foes in there XD 45 ac is nothing if they can't hit you anyway and it's baseline on everything once you reach the last section of blackwater but last section foes will murder you with +20 to 30 attack bonus on top of 45 ac XD Which mythic path did you go anyway? Necromancy is op in blackwater just for the sake of debuffing their raw stats and hitting touch ac, wave of exhaustion on top of fear works like a charm to clear 2/3 of blackwater
@@ItsXodious Can't you just respec into sword saint? i mean they're pretty much better version of vanilla magus, they get extra ac of their int modifier, get more warrior level to qualify for warrior feat (17 instead of 10 at lvl 20 so you get greater weapon spec and focus much earlier) and still get spellstrike and blade while having a much better weapon enchantment (i don't know if magus even get it) which gives you access to keen/speed and every element property for 24h for 2 arcane pool (enchant+enduring blade ability which increases weapon enchant to 1/min caster level instead of flat 1min) with greater enduring spell meanwhile they can add *1 crit mulplier for one arcane pool per strike (but who needs more than one crit with a +4 rapier crit) and for 2 you can aim at touch ac for a round ( both as a swift action so still a full attack). It would solve most of blackwater i think and most of later encounter issues for a magus, your only drawbacks is not being able to wear armor but dex modifer+int modifier compensate and even outscale even heavy armor while also adding to touch ac and you can still add mage armor to it and shield and magical vestment. Also you'll lose their uncanny dodge ish feat but azata can grant a good version of it with a perma haste during fight on top of it. I think that a sword saint/azata under 24h blur with mirror image and weapon spec into rapier (finnean is a good rapier if you don't have one) can solve most of blackwater by himself. I Respeced my camilla into one because i hate hexes and she works much better than spirit hunter to me. To specifically deal with blackwater maybe ignore enduring spell early on and focus on ascendant element(electricity), abundant casting and extra mythic feat improved weapon spec (rapier) to just hit on nat 15-20 *4 your damage and cut their regen while keeping a 35 to 40 ac and hitting touch ac on priority target. It might solve blackwater by itself (azata with super weapon damage if you picked it might make it spike to 150 dmg on nat 15-20 ) with 4 rest (there are 1 or 2 relic in there i don't remember) you can solve most of blackwater before hitting 1rs corruption level or running out of arcane pool. Worst case scenario hit a tp back to drezen, rest there and go back to blackwater. GL HF, nothing is worst than blackwater in that act Edit: min max stat would be 7 str/19 dex + 5 from leveling/14con/18int/10wsd/7cha, if you have excess of stat from dumping str and cha go for extra wisdom but only if you can get even score on it otherwise just reduce str dump for extra carrying capacity.
It's an interesting build, but you're using too many elements in the suggested spell list. Demons are the main powerful foes in WotR, and all demons have energy resist 10 to cold, fire, and acid, and are immune to electricity. You suggest three elements in the recommended spell list: fire, cold, and lightning. You also didn't take even one Ascendant Element mythic power, which allows energy resist or immunity to be bypassed for one element. I'd suggest cutting her down to one element, so you can overcome resist for it early, by level 5. Otherwise in Act 2, and beyond, when you run into lots of demons and more that have resists, she'll be much less effective. I'd think I'd go with Ascendant Element for element of focus, the three Abundant Castings, and Elemental Barrage or Enduring Spells. I'd drop Archmage Armor, as if Nenio is in melee much, she'd just be dead with the number of attacks and attack bonuses melee enemies get even at lower level. Powerful Shadow is also good for her Shadow illusion spells.
Much agreed. You can get away with this in normal and lower difficulty (sometimes) but if you plan to do hard/unfair I don’t recommend this build at all.
Honestly you might need Electricity for enemies in optional dungeon. But yeah it is kinda wonky. You also can take Greater Illusion Focus and then take 1 mythic feat to add it to evocation. Saves 2 regural feats, and will make space for Greater Spell Pen to be taken sooner.

Taking any wizard level on nenio past 10 is suboptimal because scroll savant stops providing benefits at this point 11-20 she should move into a prestige class like lore master or arcane trickster
Well, i multiclassed Nenio with Drovier Druid, and as fast as it was possible, i go for Mystic Theurge. Instead of Evocation, my second focus was on Transmutation, so she could buff her pet even more - which was a Bulwark Mastodon, who could Trip any enemy, who wasn't immune to it. Used Extend Metamagic instead of Empowered - Enduring Spells and Greater Enduring Spells Mythic abilities, so any spells, which lasted at least 5 minutes now last at least a whole day (Mass Bull's Strength, Mass Cat's Grace, Mass Bear's Endurance, Mass Fox's Cunning, Mass Owl's Wisdom & Mass Eagle's Splendor - with the Improved Abundant Casting had enough spell slots for it)... Well, it's true, that there was some overlapping effect, but the whole party gained a nice enhancement boost, and they could choose equipment, which might didn't gave that much boost on ability scores, but gave other type of bonuses. (Like the mentioned Draven's Hat, which only gaves +2 bonus to Int, but that's a profane bonus, not enhancement, so it stacks with the Fox's Cunning spell!)
This character needs splashes into either loremaster (greater elemental focus and improved improved critical rays) or arcane trickester/vivisectionist (accomplished sneak attack for AT and sneak attack away).
Why abundant casting? Scrolls are plentiful and you get 5 scrolls (spells) per combat. Money is plentiful as well. What would you recommend instead of abundant casting? *edit: maybe Ascendant element: Fire, electric?
Honestly... I'm not really all that impressed. Theres a lot which can be done with Nenio but I wouldn't recommend this. You've got at least 3 wasted feats. I'd say another 3 are minimally effective compared to other options. And your mythic choices are a mess. I wouldn't take this into core. I think I might also struggle in normal with this build. What difficulty did you create this build for?

Going to 2nd, well way more than 2nd this one, Ember is a cool character but with how often my hexes don't land when I try, I'm pretty sure I don't have something right in the build. Mostly using her for a healer.

She's your average candid and bland waifu that doesn't do jackshit beside being nice, got her benched since i got daeran, which is pretty early. Camellia is the same when it comes to hexes , daeran is better at healing and Nenio is better at everything else ( and i benched nenio because pc can be insane at spell casting)
fire-based spells are terrible consider how much demon resistance negate their damage. Just pick as few fireball for non-demons but overall stick to CC abilities like pit, stinking cloud, etc

Nothing resist mythic path caster since they have 20+ spell pen before level 15 and dc 30+, i saw some lvl 22ish demons fail to resist a fireball from my lich, won't even speak about chain lightning or that lvl 9 mass harm (who needs tsunami when you can reach 200+ aoe dmg from a lvl 9 spell that deal negative damage and needs some insane saves to reduce it to half of it)
@@clemrossi9054 Well, i had some similar experience, but i doesn't even needed to be a caster for it. Kineticists, especially Blood Kineticists can overcome most AC by the fact, that they usually target Touch AC instead of the normal one (Kinetic Knight is an exception). As long as they have Blood, they aren't immune to Wrack, and even if they get half damage from the Blast, with Ascendant Elements there are no immunity - you can easily kill anything with 2 strikes, in the worst case. If they are immune to Wrack, then you might need to boost a bit of your Dex besides your Constitution. [For a Kineticist, damage is based on your Constitution, so it not just gives you an incredible amount of Health Pool.])
@@Bruced82 Camilla is extremely powerful on pure(Shaman's spell list is absolutely busted and she's a great with two weapon fighting rapiers), Seelah is busted with a Paladin Horse (the horse when mounted pours on attack numbers), Woljif is a freaking monster if you keep him as an eldritch scoundrel (arcane trickster can also do the Vanish/Invis/Sneak Attack combo), Daeren's an Oracle which gets busted as soon as you get Animate Undead, pure Ember is an all-out blaster with loads of fire damage and busted Hexes. Loads of the characters are busted when given the right spells or feats in pure classes, so do NOT allow the game to auto build your characters. Except Regill. Get that guy into primalist bloodrager immediately and pick rage powers, he's gonna suck otherwise.
If you have the scrolls it means that she can cast a lot of spells per day, and the scrolls are cast as if they were her actual level. So, she can cast lots and lots of maxed level fireballs or chain lightning or whatever.
@@pappy374 Considering it's WoTR and it's abundant casting system, scrolls are last resort items after act 1 and usually when you come to using it everyone is spent and need to rest anyway ( you tend to deplete healing and hp much faster than 12 lvl 1 to 6 spells and 9 to 11 level 7 to 9 spells)
I went right into left field with my Nenio. Wizards are not DPS they are buff bots. And their is one mythic ability (greater enduring spells) that turns all benifical spells that last 5 mins into 24hr spells... That is rediculously broken so yeah wizards are not DPS, they are buff bots.
Keep her at base class, quarry is good, favored enemy is great and she ace almost every skillcheck because of the sheer amount of raw stats and skill points she gets every level and she gets bab 20 i think so she can achieve up to 7 range attack in a full attack making her good at dealing range damage once buffed and won't miss much on her favored enemies. If you like to mod I found her fun to build as a ranger but you'll need to remake her stats and lose that base 21 charisma that you can't achieve at level 1.
cantrip aim at touch ac and crossbow at regular ac, in the early levels it's 5 to 10 ac diff while at high level it can go to 40ish diff in ac on some enemies, fough some 45 ac foes that have 15 touch ac. That's also why some feat like dimensionnal blade from sword saint are insane at high level.
I mean mage can hardly sucks since they're versatile, even messy mage build can work to some extend. At worst it just put under displacement and haste your whole party and it will still have great value.
OK..time the eff out...if you just got the same commercial as me, someone just uttered the words "tactical hoody" and I think that should be forever discussed and shamed as an abject absurdity...forever...and ever...and EVER. If you buy things because someone slaps the word "tactical" on it, you are literally developmentally disabled. Not that we love you any less for it...it just needs to be acknowledged.
@@celan4288 quickened is better if you consider rods and do you ever run out of a single haste in an encounter? i mean 30 to 120 sec depending on your caster level is often enough to deal with an encounter. Idk if it's baseline for everyone but you get a quicken 6 charges per day rod right before hitting mythic rank 4 as a lich.

you need at least 7 levels, because you need to take 2 additional specific feats to unlock loremaster

Why abundant casting? Scrolls are plentiful and you get 5 scrolls (spells) per combat. Money is plentiful as well.
What would you recommend instead of abundant casting?

Honestly... I'm not really all that impressed. Theres a lot which can be done with Nenio but I wouldn't recommend this.
You've got at least 3 wasted feats. I'd say another 3 are minimally effective compared to other options. And your mythic choices are a mess.
I wouldn't take this into core. I think I might also struggle in normal with this build. What difficulty did you create this build for?

Going to 2nd, well way more than 2nd this one, Ember is a cool character but with how often my hexes don't land when I try, I'm pretty sure I don't have something right in the build. Mostly using her for a healer.

She's your average candid and bland waifu that doesn't do jackshit beside being nice, got her benched since i got daeran, which is pretty early. Camellia is the same when it comes to hexes , daeran is better at healing and Nenio is better at everything else ( and i benched nenio because pc can be insane at spell casting)
fire-based spells are terrible consider how much demon resistance negate their damage. Just pick as few fireball for non-demons but overall stick to CC abilities like pit, stinking cloud, etc
*Me every time with a spellcaster:* Okay, I have my buffs, I have lowered the resistance of the enemy, time to unleash the most devastating lvl 6 spell I can.
*The spell:* You failed to overcome the spell resistance of this lvl 3 wolf. Also, you still managed to miss, somehow.
*Me:* Okay, I'm done with magic. Lvl 11 fighter, kill.
*Lvl 11 fighter:* *miss, miss, miss, 7 [Reduced], PC grows a leg and foot and kicks my dog, that I don't even own.
Me: .........................why am I playing this again?
Nothing resist mythic path caster since they have 20+ spell pen before level 15 and dc 30+, i saw some lvl 22ish demons fail to resist a fireball from my lich, won't even speak about chain lightning or that lvl 9 mass harm (who needs tsunami when you can reach 200+ aoe dmg from a lvl 9 spell that deal negative damage and needs some insane saves to reduce it to half of it)
@@clemrossi9054 Well, i had some similar experience, but i doesn't even needed to be a caster for it. Kineticists, especially Blood Kineticists can overcome most AC by the fact, that they usually target Touch AC instead of the normal one (Kinetic Knight is an exception). As long as they have Blood, they aren't immune to Wrack, and even if they get half damage from the Blast, with Ascendant Elements there are no immunity - you can easily kill anything with 2 strikes, in the worst case. If they are immune to Wrack, then you might need to boost a bit of your Dex besides your Constitution. [For a Kineticist, damage is based on your Constitution, so it not just gives you an incredible amount of Health Pool.])

Absolutely right, she should dip into it (3-5 levels), I guess they keep it pure class for simplicity's sake, but it does gimp the characters...
@@Bruced82 Camilla is extremely powerful on pure(Shaman's spell list is absolutely busted and she's a great with two weapon fighting rapiers), Seelah is busted with a Paladin Horse (the horse when mounted pours on attack numbers), Woljif is a freaking monster if you keep him as an eldritch scoundrel (arcane trickster can also do the Vanish/Invis/Sneak Attack combo), Daeren's an Oracle which gets busted as soon as you get Animate Undead, pure Ember is an all-out blaster with loads of fire damage and busted Hexes.
Loads of the characters are busted when given the right spells or feats in pure classes, so do NOT allow the game to auto build your characters. Except Regill. Get that guy into primalist bloodrager immediately and pick rage powers, he's gonna suck otherwise.

Is scroll Savant even that great of an archetype?
If you have the scrolls it means that she can cast a lot of spells per day, and the scrolls are cast as if they were her actual level. So, she can cast lots and lots of maxed level fireballs or chain lightning or whatever.
@@pappy374 Considering it's WoTR and it's abundant casting system, scrolls are last resort items after act 1 and usually when you come to using it everyone is spent and need to rest anyway ( you tend to deplete healing and hp much faster than 12 lvl 1 to 6 spells and 9 to 11 level 7 to 9 spells)

I went right into left field with my Nenio. Wizards are not DPS they are buff bots. And their is one mythic ability (greater enduring spells) that turns all benifical spells that last 5 mins into 24hr spells... That is rediculously broken so yeah wizards are not DPS, they are buff bots.

Keep her at base class, quarry is good, favored enemy is great and she ace almost every skillcheck because of the sheer amount of raw stats and skill points she gets every level and she gets bab 20 i think so she can achieve up to 7 range attack in a full attack making her good at dealing range damage once buffed and won't miss much on her favored enemies. If you like to mod I found her fun to build as a ranger but you'll need to remake her stats and lose that base 21 charisma that you can't achieve at level 1.

cantrip aim at touch ac and crossbow at regular ac, in the early levels it's 5 to 10 ac diff while at high level it can go to 40ish diff in ac on some enemies, fough some 45 ac foes that have 15 touch ac. That's also why some feat like dimensionnal blade from sword saint are insane at high level.
the only mage companion and it sucks.
I mean mage can hardly sucks since they're versatile, even messy mage build can work to some extend. At worst it just put under displacement and haste your whole party and it will still have great value.

OK..time the eff out...if you just got the same commercial as me, someone just uttered the words "tactical hoody" and I think that should be forever discussed and shamed as an abject absurdity...forever...and ever...and EVER. If you buy things because someone slaps the word "tactical" on it, you are literally developmentally disabled. Not that we love you any less for it...it just needs to be acknowledged.

@@celan4288 quickened is better if you consider rods and do you ever run out of a single haste in an encounter? i mean 30 to 120 sec depending on your caster level is often enough to deal with an encounter. Idk if it's baseline for everyone but you get a quicken 6 charges per day rod right before hitting mythic rank 4 as a lich.
