Very entertaining watching the process of trying to deconstruct the poor Nursa to fit into the caterpillar. Caterpillar really needs some love to make it’s utility better, just a few small adjustments to each compartment or making fewer but larger compartments would go a long way as well as making the front compartment larger with a ramp would be fantastic.
You are by far the best creator on the internet when it comes to Star Citizen, I look forward to all the vids and what you and the team get into next. Keep up the good work!
I genuinely think the music selection you guys go with for your videos is great. Makes it sound all fun and adventurous. Makes things somehow seem more immersive. Like the viewer is experiencing some of Star Citizen's silliness with you.
the fact that you can even do that with the ursa and the cat just says a lot about the potential of this game, once CIG gets it all up to gold across the board.
You're right in the Cat needing some love. Not just to bring it up to quality with newer ships, but also to up-gun it. It feels really undergunned compared to contemporaries, especially for a Drake ship
Love your content! Love the CAT! It makes a very interesting if not surprising drop ship! I've had 2 Ursa, and 2 cyclones in the central bays with 2 dragonfly's in the front bay. Today the tractor beams make it easy, but back in the day you had to pitch the CAT over with gear up, open the cargo bay doors at the edge of a landing pad, then back the vics in. I can't wait to see what future modules they have in store for us! Also... your wheelless Nursa looks like it could go in any front yard in Alabama... ;)
I love the Cat. I wish there were some benefits to it over the C2 or M2. So many of the issues in this series would be a non-issue in a C2 or M2. It’s hard for the Cat to compete with those haulers even for the cheaper price. Maybe if they released modular bays that allow you to customize the ship for other roles. Perhaps that would make it competitive with the crusader haulers.
Great episode so far :3 Just fwiw RMQ is a thing that's specific to the server meshing tech. So the currently LIVE servers don't use it yet. But I know what you mean, I've actually been noticing better AI performance too recently. Maybe they did other optimisations. But it's nice :] Also welp yes I wish CIG would show the Cati some love
seems like an easy fit to make larger cargo bays into "tiny homes" or in this case a med bay pod. the idea of launching your sick into space while they convalesce is also Very funny.
What we need is a 16 scu modular conversion container. Like have a medical 16 scu container that aligns to the grid as well as can be deployed. Good for practical use and RP situations. It should be roomy enough to fit everything that is inside the Ursa Med. It would have its own power source and some storage, enough for medical needs and medical crafting. Other similar containers could be made available as well. Armory boxes with gun slots and storage like on board a ship. Smaller boxes like 8 scu can also have similar loadouts for smaller needs. I know they make more money off role specific ships that have medical services on board and they likely will not offer this as it could cut into that revenue. But if they can turn an Ursa into an ambulance, they can do the same with a crate. Heck, I can build a house with transport crates IRL 2024. Why not in the far future lol
In the original schematics, the pilot pod was actually supposed to be detachable and semi self suficient by itself. But they havent implented that feature and prob wont for a long time
1:50 first module is broken. All of 3 buttons you have (2 inside and 1 outside) are usually broken. But you can open and close all with a key-bind from pilot seat.
ususally we get issues with the caterpillar doors when the doors are "out of sync" - with what the game thinks - if a door control becomes unresponsive - we go back to the pilot seat and "OPEN EXTERIOR DOORS" and then go back to the balky door , and just about every time it brings the door back into sync and the cargo door controls at the individual doors now work normally... we do run around with a Nursa in the cargo module immediately infront of the hab module. that way you just go thru the door and walk right in to the side door of the nursa. we tried to put the nursa in the front cargo bay, the the rear door of the nursa causes issues and make the nursa jump around with the rear ramp open.
Gotcha! At 1:00 in - that's not a bottle of Cruz Lux, it's Cruz Dark! Tsk, tsk. It's like playing Fallout and getting all the Nuka cola's wrong. :P ... Wonder what hauling in the Cat will be like.
use the front of the cat for atls storage and ship cans for food and ammo, just be carful going to 2nd deck on command pod sometimes you can fall in between the deck and die or get stuck
if you ever decide to make a hammerhead version of these videos, i BEG of you to call it either the scornful shark or the serene shark, or just something with shark in it, it's too good of an animal to pass up for a ship called the hammerhead
I've never thought about this before but I wonder if you could shoot the doors off the Ursa like you did with the tires to prevent that jank when they open
How would you use some of the multi dimensional properties of the gravity in each ship and the Nursa Rover. You could have it on it's side to save space on the outside and the inside would still be functional. ...as well as shooting off the tyres.... :)
I got a chance to take the M50 out for a spin. I've never flown one before, it's pretty quick. And the Skullcrusher paint is pretty rad, not gonna lie. This might mean it's finally time to try racing missions, and set up my hotas. Thank you again Kate (and Will)!!
the MaxLift isnt enough to lift the Medical Ursa? i pulled a functional one out of a soft dead A2 in Zero-G the other day, it seemed easy. (nvm you used that later) Good idea, suggest to CIG they make a mobile medical unit :D
The servers have been very janky for the past two weeks for me. Very odd stuff with inventory and cargo/hangar elevators. I hope the .2 patch helps with this. Such is SC.
Is it correct that with 3.24.2 the catarpillar gets a greatly increased range. Even more than the C2? If you look at Erkul, the Cat gets 15 SCU QT and the C2 gets 8 SCU
Whats your system specs? I know star citizen eats gaming PCs like nothing else, i play it with a 24gb GPU and still dont hit 60fps. The framerate looked quite choppy on this video compared to your other ones
These videos always give a bit of a Discovery Channel documentary vibe especially with the narration, and I love it.
Your cinematics are always so good, love your content.
Thanks Space Viking, and for watching too! also you got first comment today well done :D

Also... This is really cool. Your videos are why I looked into Star Citizen in the first place, specifically the "life aboard a Corsair" series.
I genuinely think the music selection you guys go with for your videos is great. Makes it sound all fun and adventurous. Makes things somehow seem more immersive. Like the viewer is experiencing some of Star Citizen's silliness with you.
Love the ingenuity to make the medical cat hahaha love it. Keep up the amazing work everyone
This was an utterly inspired move. Love it.
the fact that you can even do that with the ursa and the cat just says a lot about the potential of this game, once CIG gets it all up to gold across the board.
You're right in the Cat needing some love. Not just to bring it up to quality with newer ships, but also to up-gun it. It feels really undergunned compared to contemporaries, especially for a Drake ship
And also just to add in some basic missing features that every other ship has like working cargo elevators for example.
Been working on my Battlepillar logistics, now knowing that you can shoot a Nursa's tires off helps a lot!

Great content and I agree: No More Green Skybox! ;) NPC's mostly sit properly .. but so many more creepers near the ship terminals XD
More like the CAN-apillar, amirite
haha i see what you did there! :D
Nice. LoL.
Great episode so far :3

incorrect on one thing rmq is implemented live in 3.24, however it was DEVELOPED because nmq did not scale well with server meshing.
I love the wheel-less Ursa; that was brilliant.
Also with the item kiosks, you can stand farther back when accessing the "F" key, giving you more open space around you for your 4 cameras.
Love the vid and love the cat, really hope it gets a gold pass some day soon!
A Med-Bay module for a Caterpillar 😄
CIG, make it happen!
I sure do like the Cat. Feels like a space-faring vessel!

Fun vid. Hope 4.0 brings lots of new gameplay from you guys.
Now a bay full of Furies and you have a fully functional carrier :D
Thoroughly enjoy your life abord series. It's so well done. Side note: That wasn't a cruz lux. :)
Need a med cargo container... Maybe Drake can do one..
Excellent cheese with the Nursa. I heartily approve!
I like the "Green" space
A deploy, or store mode would be great for a vehicle like the ursa, where it would fold it’s wheels up and in to minimise ground space for transport.
What we need is a 16 scu modular conversion container. Like have a medical 16 scu container that aligns to the grid as well as can be deployed. Good for practical use and RP situations. Leaving that bay door open would have made me so paranoid! I don't think I could have left it open... 😅
i cant stop laughing at shooting the wheels off an ursa with a bucaneer xD
Every time i see the catapillar i think the cockpit could be used as a really cool snub ship or escape pod
In the original schematics, the pilot pod was actually supposed to be detachable and semi self suficient by itself. But they havent implented that feature and prob wont for a long time
Medical bay module needed for Caterpillar.
Yes it b dose
The other day I was in a server all by myself. Max server FPS. I can confirm that the barista at area 18 does in fact work.
1:50 first module is broken. All of 3 buttons you have (2 inside and 1 outside) are usually broken. But you can open and close all with a key-bind from pilot seat.
yay more adventures of the emu express :D
Never thought I would see a buccaneer being used as a tire remover...
Modularity in game confirmed!
ususally we get issues with the caterpillar doors when the doors are "out of sync" - with what the game thinks - if a door control becomes unresponsive - we go back to the pilot seat and "OPEN EXTERIOR DOORS" and then go back to the balky door , and just about every time it brings the door back into sync and the cargo door controls at the individual doors now work normally... we do run around with a Nursa in the cargo module immediately infront of the hab module. that way you just go thru the door and walk right in to the side door of the nursa. we tried to put the nursa in the front cargo bay, the the rear door of the nursa causes issues and make the nursa jump around with the rear ramp open.
Lately I've seen only the doors closest to the hab the external won't work, all the others do.
Can't ever forget the Pico
Gotcha! At 1:00 in - that's not a bottle of Cruz Lux, it's Cruz Dark! Tsk, tsk. It's like playing Fallout and getting all the Nuka cola's wrong. :P ... Wonder what hauling in the Cat will be like.
The moment I saw a weapon out in the lift to the spaceport, my mind immediately went "Remember, no Russian".
yay more Caterpillar content! :D
i hate when the buttons break on the Caterpillar.
Always fun!
I'm pretty sure the Atlas has two beam modes, the new one for cargo & one that works like traditional system
22:40 That was a missed opportunity for a "NO RUSSIAN" moment right there :D
use the front of the cat for atls storage and ship cans for food and ammo, just be carful going to 2nd deck on command pod sometimes you can fall in between the deck and die or get stuck
Can confirm on the ladder death in the cat.
I had not noticed the green space before now, to be honest.
Love the cat
My fav ship tbh
so with the nursa you are the first people to have installed a dedicated module on the caterpillar! 😂
1:00 Excuse me, that is clearly Cruz Dark. Cruz Lux is in the yellow bottle. I, myself, prefer Cruz Flow in the blue bottle. lol
Why not place the nursa sideways?
With the side door facing towards the back of the ship🤷♂️
Came to ask this as well.
I can't want for all these older ships get reworks to be a bit more universally stable/viable for multiple game loops.
How did the AI spot you approaching in that fog in the first mission? They started firing well before you could spot them.
Caterpillar is no where near finished thankfully! hopefully that front gets a rework to fit a rover (maybe a ramp even!!) lol
if you ever decide to make a hammerhead version of these videos, i BEG of you to call it either the scornful shark or the serene shark, or just something with shark in it, it's too good of an animal to pass up for a ship called the hammerhead
Isnt the hammerhead already a shark, so naming the ship shark would Name it somehow shark shark.
How about "Willow the (Hammerhead)" :-)
@@NotUnymous WE NAME IT BRUCE
I've never thought about this before but I wonder if you could shoot the doors off the Ursa like you did with the tires to prevent that jank when they open

Try opening the ramp on a C2 from the outside.
I won, wow. How do I get you my info?
hi gravy :) yea you won well done! send me an email to citizen_kate@yahoo.com and we'll arrange to get the prize package over to you!
I got a chance to take the M50 out for a spin. I've never flown one before, it's pretty quick. And the Skullcrusher paint is pretty rad, not gonna lie. This might mean it's finally time to try racing missions, and set up my hotas. Thank you again Kate (and Will)!!
It’s u fortunate that all players now have a green chevron over their head - no one can act like an npc anyone
unfortunately alot of the older ships need another pass at them for updates, i found that out when using the taurus
Hydrating before setting off on a journey? Who are you and what have you done with the real Kate?! 🙃
the MaxLift isnt enough to lift the Medical Ursa? i pulled a functional one out of a soft dead A2 in Zero-G the other day, it seemed easy. (nvm you used that later)
Good idea, suggest to CIG they make a mobile medical unit :D
Not a fan of the green space myself, you want to see the blackness of space. Oh the day the Cat get ramps to the cargo bays, that and the modules.
jaime le contenue
i wonder if we'll get a cat medbed module
Isn't the Cat planned to have the bottom decks of each module drop down for loading/unloading?
The servers have been very janky for the past two weeks for me. Very odd stuff with inventory and cargo/hangar elevators. I hope the .2 patch helps with this. Such is SC.
Is it correct that with 3.24.2 the catarpillar gets a greatly increased range. Even more than the C2? If you look at Erkul, the Cat gets 15 SCU QT and the C2 gets 8 SCU
will a c8rescue fit in the front?
Is it correct that the Cat in 3.24.2 gets twice the range of the C2? It is also more tanky but less powerful than the C2. Can you confirm that?
I hate the green nebula too
Wait... you Drank something!? Who are you and what did you do with the Real Kate???
One of the jankiest cargo ships in the game. this is going to get interesting
Wrong
Whats your system specs? I know star citizen eats gaming PCs like nothing else, i play it with a 24gb GPU and still dont hit 60fps. The framerate looked quite choppy on this video compared to your other ones
I mean, wouldn't a C2/M2 be a little less....troublesome? 😂
0:22 ..,,green space?
Slightly green skybox
I debate pledging this ship all the time
the Catty Red
It doesn’t fit.
Yeah
What do w me do?
I unno. Shoot the tires off?
Has to be the most drake conversation ever. Especially because it worked.
Hehe, nothing wrong with the greenish sky box, I don't see it changing any time soon.
